Winn Dixie

Never had any issues here. Always preferred the layout and friendliness of Publix, but this location I’ve been visiting for ages (ever since it opened). It’s a little odd that they have a bell by the exit door that they want you to ring if you had good service. But, Winn Dixie as a company is a 3-​star company for me. This place is a little better than average!

got terrible food poisoning from the bag salad there this past week, worst I ever had. I am quickly beginning to realize why I never went to winn Dixie in the first place. got some cold cuts there a few weeks earlier, when the lady was done cutting from the large slab of meat, she returned the chunk to the used gross looking large zip lock bag for future meat sales. 2 days after buying it, the meat smelled rancid, and I had to throw it all away, thank goodness I did… also got a couple bags of rice from same Seminole location, when I went to open, noticed a bug infestation in all purchased rice bags, YUCKKKK!!! definitely worth the extra drive and money to go to publix where shopping really is a pleasure after setting foot in winn Dixie.

Saddest collection of F&V I’ve seen in a long time. We’re in FL, right? Where this stuff is um, grown? Melons with sunken dents, ew. Staff were very nice, however.

Prefer publix for price and freshness but this is walking distance so that means not taking the car~

I did most of my grocery shopping at Winn Dixie when I first moved to Florida, as it seemed to be the cheapest option… well, I guess there’s a reason for that! Their produce is just not that good and seemed to always go bad pretty fast, but the final straw was when I opened a box of Rice-​a-​Roni that I had bought two days before and it was CRAWLING with little black bugs! I attempted to give them a second chance last year when they remodeled the store and were sending out $ 5 off coupons, however when I opened a container of yogurt I’d purchased there to eat for lunch (which was NOT past the expiration date– I double checked) and it had a large clump of fuzzy mold sitting right on top, I swore off Winn Dixie for good! I don’t know if it’s just this location but it’s really the only one near my house so I’m sticking with Publix or Albertsons.

Haven’t been in a Winn Dixie since I was a boy. that was waaay back when Piggly Wiggly and Jitney Jungles still ruled.
As a visitor of Florida I am overwhelmed by the amount of Publix stores around but since this is just a half mile from my friend’s place, I thought I’d check it out.
It’s okay. some nice produce, a decent deli I got some strawberries which were advertised as ‘buy one, get one free’ only to be charged full price.
Didn’t see the tiny sign saying ”with a Winn Dixie card’ on it.
The store is big and cashiers were readily available. I think it is a step below Kroegers. I don’t think it is a shabby place though. They have done quite a bit to improve their image and stay competitive.
