Very slow. I was told by my doctor I needed to go to the emergency room for a rabies shot after I was bitten by a bat. I have currently been waiting over 2 hours in an exam room. I opened my door to remind them I am still here and waiting. A nurse promptly came by and closed it. Better that I should remain out of sight and out of mind I suppose. I just don’t understand why treatment in an emergency room has to be so slow. By the way, there were tons of medical personnel standing around and no ongoing emergencies or trauma patients being seen. If rabies wasn’t so serious I would have walked out. On a positive note, everyone was very nice. I’m sure it is probably typical hospital bureaucracy that slows everything down. Update: At the 2.5 hour point an orderly moved me to another smaller room. At 4 hours I stopped a nurse in the hall and asked for an update. Soon after, two nurses came to my room with my shot. They said they thought I had already been released since I was no longer in my previous room. So I was basically lost in the ER. I probably could have stayed there overnight and they wouldn’t have known. I was finally released 4 hours 45 minutes after being checked in. Downgraded to one star.

My dad was rushed to Oconee Memorial 2 days ago. I work at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta and truthfully I was a little nervous because the hospital is so small. Upon arriving, the nurse taking care of my dad in CCU(Karen) was so attentive & caring. Night nurse,(Tara) was equally as great. Dr. Lee, my fathers Gastro doc was fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Lee. His bedside manner was a 10! He came to ck on my dad 3 times in 24 hours. He explained everything to our family in depth. My father is still in CCU and I had to come home today. I feel confident that he will be treated with the utmost care and I just called in the get an update from his nurse, which she gladly gave me. It’s refreshing to get such good care in this day & age. 5 Stars for this new & updated hospital. 10 stars for Dr. Lee!

My parents have been to Oconee Medical Center several times including visits to the emergency room, a surgery and extended inpatient treatments. We have always received excellent care and attention from the doctors, nurses and other hospital staff. The nurses are especially kind and caring. They respond quickly to requests, are always friendly and smiling and patiently answer our questions. We have found all areas of the hospital to be very clean and well maintained.
