I brought my wife and her sister and brother in law to the Spot on the Alley for dinner. We had heard great things about the place. It took forever for anyone to even acknowledge that we were there. They did finally come and bring us water. It took at least 15 minutes for us to get the drinks that we ordered. We then finally ordered our food. It took 45 minutes for the food to show up. They blamed it on a new cook. When the food arrived, we had no silverware so we asked for utensils. They came back with one fork and one spoon in total, for four people. Now I will admit that this is a «sports bar»; however, three of us had cole slaw. Needless to say the service was terrible and the foot was just better than that.

Great good, great music and one of the coolest, friendliest staffs all make for a fun time/a wonderfully relaxing way to unwind, after a long day, or even a crazy week at work.

My daughter and I just had a great experience. The staff was amazing. Our server, Cody, was awesome. We enjoyed a bunch of appetizers and didn’t leave room for anything else. We’ll be going back the next time we are in town.

Simply the best place to meet new friends, enjoy good food, and have fun. Bingo on Wednesday and karaōke on Saturday. The staff are the best! «I love this bar»!

The food was decent, but the 40 minute wait time for a burger was not. This was at lunch and it wasn’t crowded. My office is nearby, I was hoping this would be my new lunch spot but I wont be returning.

Followed the Unilocal recommendations and took my Clemson bound freshman for burgers here last Monday, it was quite good!

New to the area and discovered this great place that offered gluten free options. It is the only place in the local area that I could actually order a sandwich made with gluten free bread — how awesome. My reuben sandwich was delicious and my husband was very pleased with his wings. The waitress was very knowledgeable about gluten sensitivity. I highly recommend.

I’m addicted to the chips! Could have better drinks though. I wasn’t impressed with the bar tender but the cook keeps me coming back. Wish they had some better video games, golf’s not to thrilling.

The food was good(bar food) once we got after 90 minutes. The wait staff was great and stayed on top of our drinks. Didn’t blame them obviously kitchen issues. It was extremely busy wit the Jazz on the Alley. But 90 minutes is ridiculous for nachos. Probably would avoid during special events.

Came here on a business trip after reading reviews here on Unilocal. Was surprised when I first walked in that it was bingo night. The previous signs I saw all said that bingo night was Thursday. I was expecting to watch a little sports outside of the hotel but that wasn’t the case. However, I got over this quickly with how friendly the staff and the locals were. Was asked multiple times if I needed anything and if I was ok. Service was outstanding. I ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and the cheddar burger for my entrée and the food was very good. As I was leaving the music came on and the lights dimmed so I must’ve just gotten there a little early. Awesome little find in Seneca! Will be back if I come to Seneca again.

Some of the best food I have had out in quite a while. The Patty Melt was excellent. Very generous sized patty, onions perfectly cooked, just enough cheese, and grilled very well, and not greasy. The tater tots were good. Had the chicken chips as an starter, they were extremely good. Josh had a burger and had a hard time finishing, amazing for a teenager. We will be back.

The menu offered a lot of different choices for lunch such as sandwiches, burgers, and supreme nachos. I tried the Buffalo chicken sandwich, which was marked«spicy» on the menu. It had a little heat; there wasn’t much lettuce on it though. The onion rings for a side were tasty too, but a little soggy with grease. All in all was a good lunch experience. Would rather eat this than at a fast food place.

The warmth and feel of a neighborhood pub. Great place to hear bands on a Friday night. Friendly service with a group of regular customers makes for a welcoming atmosphere

Three stars for food… OK bar food, but nothing worth an extra drive(unless you’re near Clemson, in which case you’re in a food desert and this is better than sand). Two-point-five stars for service… friendly and attentive if you can wave the server down amidst the hecticosity of bingo fest. Food slow to arrive due to small kitchen and big crowd, but it happens. Five stars for Thursday bingo and five stars for the bingo host-caller-guy… entertainment made us forget about the minus-stars. Bottom line… a great experience if you’re in it for the experience. If you’re in it just for the food, it’s merely alright(which is alright in its own right). Alright by me.

Went in to order a take out order. The place is smoker friendly, but to a non-smoker it was like walking into a living ash tray. After suffering for 30 minutes I finally got our food. When we opened the first box we discovered the fried green tomatoes to be charred black and grease soaked. We had a BLT that was served with the stem part of the tomato on not just one of the slices, but all of them. Next up was the Philly steak. It was void of all seasoning with the exception of a dash of worcestershire, very tough and just not good. The final hope for grace was the fried pickles. They were also charred beyond edibility. We were given no forks, knives, spoons, sporks, salt, pepper, or other normal things provided in a to go order. I was informed by the manager that is restaurant policy unless you order a salad. Very disappointed. The Spot on the Alley touts itself as Seneca’s finest sports bar and restaurant. I guess those that voted this as the Best Of The Best in The Journal have very low expectations.

Our experience wasn’t completely awful, but it could have been a lot better… We arrived on a Saturday evening about an hour before karaōke started. We ordered a sampler appetizer which ended up being the highlight of our meal. Our entrees of a Pork chop sandwich which was extremely dry, a chicken Philly which the onions and peppers were extremely undercooked(pretty much raw), a chicken wrap where the chicken was burnt, and a BLT which the mayo was glopped all over the bacon and not spread over the bread, and it completely fell apart on me where I had to eat the whole sandwich with my fork. No one checked back with us once the food was dropped of to the table so we couldn’t complain till our check was brought. We had been traveling all day and were so famished that we ate what we could stomach. We mentioned something and only one meal was taken care of. Needless to say, we won’t be recommending this place to any of our friends…

I haven’t been to Seneca in 4 – 5 years, but I remembered having lunch at a place on Ram Cat Alley. Of course, the floors were being resurfaced and the place was closed until the next week. Because we were so hungry, my friend and I quickly ducked into the Spot. For an appetizer, we had the fried pickles with ranch dressing on the side. Not too bad, though I usually prefer a lighter batter… and some appetizer plates. My friend and I had to cut the pickles on our napkins, which soon became soggy and all torn up. For my meal, I had Spot’s 8 oz burger, topped with mushrooms, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion served on a Kaiser roll. It was gigantic. I had homemade chips on the side, which were delicious, but I couldn’t finish them.

First of all, if you plan to visit here, I highly suggest trying to make a reservation. The place is very, very small. I had wanted to sit outside anyway, but when we visited a couple of weeks ago and had it been raining there would have been no seats inside. There were 2 tables with reservation cards on them but I hadn’t known about this until we arrived. Our waitress, also being the bartender, really could have used some help. That place was packed ½ way into our dinner and she was having a hard time doing both jobs which was completely understandable. Okay, the deck out back really needs to be repaired down below. That thing really rocks, to the point of not being safe if you ask me, and if mine were rocking like that at my house I would be inclined not to let anyone out on it until repairs were made. Should be an easy fix. I do have to give the menu and the food 5 stars. The pile of homemade chips done as nachos were huge and outstanding! The burger meat on them was not coated in any seasoning which was a very nice touch. The reuben was great and the perfect size. We will go back but probably make a reservation first. Though, at places like this when I’ve made reservations, it’s never worked and they had no clue to whom I was. 4÷7÷2011 UPDATE! The back deck has been repaired. Time for everyone to visit and enjoy one of these nice Spring evenings on the back deck with wonderful food and a drink of one’s choice. See you there!
