BEWARE of bicylist. Walked with injured service dog today. At 11:15am 8÷26÷15 speeding male bicyclist speed by 2 inches from us walking on dirt area of shoulder by Carlsbad. Elder couple next to us was shocked. This trail needs to set up random fines for excess speeding before persons are hurt.

We loved the segment from the 7 cedars to port Angeles. I would give this segment 5 stars. Friendly volunteers maintain it. One was out blowing the weeds off his segment while we were there. We got turned around in sequim and people stopped and asked if we were lost. Historical RR bridges, waterfront ride into port Angeles, bathrooms, benches to rest on. The segment from port townsend to sequim was not as friendly. Much of it was along the highway and roads. I wouldn’t do this section over again.

Nice hiking trail in the Olympics. Bring the kids, some snacks, and sunscreen and make an afternoon of it. Some great sites to see!

Love this trail! It’s fun, lots of hills, but don’t be intimidated. The uphills usually have big downhills before them so it’s not a lot of work. The trail is maintained by volunteers mostly. The complete trail ends around the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe offices are. From Sequim to JST is about 8 miles, if that’s not enough you can start in Port Angeles, and I believe that would be closer to 21 miles. It’s still under construction between La Push and Port Angeles and JST to Port Townsend. It’s a fun trail, not very busy at all and beautiful. From Sequim to JKT you follow the water pretty much the whole time. I always feel closer to nature here. Love it! Over the 8 mile trail the most people I’ve seen was maybe 10.
