My husband and I are fans! 24⁄7 was the first plus. The fact that the donuts are normal size was another(unlike Sandy Pony). Also they are pretty cheap! So many good flavors to choose from; will definitely be back to sample some more. PS: can’t go wrong with the coconut frosted or strawberry shortcake.

Staff is very sweet and patient as I decided what I wanted in my dozen. The donuts are cheap and tasty. Very soft and not overly sugary. Nothing too fancy in terms of decoration on donuts. I just love donuts overall though, these are delicious. After ordering, I sat down and ate 3 donuts YUM. Lots of seating and it’s open 24⁄7. Great to hang out forever while eating donuts and drinking coffee. These are good ol fashion donuts.

Donut Shack had been a long forgotten bookmark of mine for a while, and for as much time as I have spent in this area, I can’t believe that I hadn’t ventured in here sooner. My sister and brother-in-law brought us in here the other night while we were visiting for the holidays. The four of us decided to get a dozen, so that meant we each got to pick three. I chose the Bavarian cream, the macaroon, and the honey-glazed. I don’t remember all that my husband chose except for the strawberry shortcake. I think it’s safe to say that these were the best donuts I have ever had. Though the macaroon was the cakey-kind that I normally don’t prefer, it was still excellent. The honey-glazed was absolutely wonderful, my favorite of them all, and even though my husband called me boring for choosing it over so many other more interesting ones, I think it says a lot about a place when the basics are done so well. I was too entranced by smells and sprinkles to take much notice of the interior, but it definitely seemed to be a blast from the past as most others have already noted. The staff was very friendly and extremely patient with us, as we were all pretty indecisive and took quite awhile to make up our minds what we wanted. I love this place, and the fact that it is open 24 hours makes it even more lovable and forgivable that it’s a cash only establishment. Who cares about ATM fees anyway?

My friends turned me on to this cute little 24 hour donut shop, and this is always my first choice for a midnight snack. I’ve had a few different types of donuts here but I always end up getting the cinnamon roll. It’s huge, has lots of cinnamon, and the texture of the dough is always spot-on. The coffee has definitely gotten much better over the months, but it’s still not the best. If you’re a coffee snob, you won’t be happy here. Stick to the pastries and donuts and you’ll be very satisfied! PS: cash only!

Amazing donuts and staff. Just that alone makes this place perfect. I work down the street and I go there at least twice a week, I would go there everyday but my waistline wouldn’t approve.

Tried their donuts for the first time today and they’re by far the best donuts I’ve ever had. Warm, fresh, doughy, sweet. Mm mm mm!

Fantastic donuts! When my roommates and I have late night or early morning cravings, we love to drive down to this place. Their coffee is just okay, but their donuts, especially the peanut /chocolate ones, are so good. The shack looks like it is stuck in the past, old school house maps, 70s seating/bar, and the servers are grumpy looking and cutely old. CASHONLY, but there is an ATM inside with almost a $ 3 fee. They probably only do cash to keep their prices low. Lots of coolers with different drinks! They sell in bulk, so get a dozen donuts and go crazy!

Won’t eat donuts from anywhere else. Always a line but worth the wait. They always have what you want on hand.

Amazing donuts! Me and my husband have been looking for an awesome donut place that isn’t Dunkin donuts. It’s open 24 hours and only takes cash. Donuts are fresh and amazing. Staff was all very nice and helpful

This place is awesome. Been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience, even at 3am. Coffee is not very strong, but it gets the job done. My favorites are the blueberry cake, maple frosted, chocolate cream filled and strawberry shortcake… so you might as well get a half dozen… and then you might as well just get a dozen. :)

As a medical student, I tried these when our attending surprised the ICU team with boxes of fresh donuts after a long weekend of hard work. I had a chocolate glazed and it seriously was the best. thing. ever. Super fresh, melt in your mouth goodness! I love donuts and it is sometimes hard to find a good one in the Baltimore area. Will definitely need to pay this place a visit to try some other varieties!

This Severna Park icon is the BEST for those days you just need donuts and coffee! I love the simple diner atmosphere and the unbeatable prices. Yes you have to pay in cash but they provide an in-store ATM so no excuses for not giving this place a try. The donuts are your basic cake donut and come in a variety of flavors. I’m a stickler for a vanilla sprinkle every time but I have had several others that are equally delicious. The coffee isn’t anything fancy but that’s what I like about it and it compliments the sweetness of the donuts like non-other. Don’t pass this place when you’re on Rt. 2– you won’t regret it.

CASHONLY! We received a coupon in the mail so we decided to try Donut Shack. I love how it is family owned and not a chain. I will admit that we were a little disappointed. The donuts were dry and a lot of the glazed donuts needed more glaze. Maybe we had an old batch. The price for a dozen is great… $ 7 and some change. We will definitely give them another shot and hopefully we will get the moist donuts that everyone else is raving about. Heating up the donut on day 2 in the microwave for 15 seconds made the donut taste a lot better. The coffee is ok. A little weak and watery. Next time I will stick to juice.

I love donuts. These donuts are nice and dense. The texture is very rich — the dough is not dry at all. The donut were fluffed enough but not too airy. The dough kind of a fresh baked cheese effect — the dough hung when you tore it(so kind of a brilliant under baked donut). I would definitely recommend this place!

What you need to know: –CASHONLY(there’s an ATM onsite) –24 hours –You will feel like you’re stepping back in time when you see the inside –It smells really good in there –Donuts are fresh and sweet and yummy(even the cake donuts – and I don’t usually like cake donuts. They are very fluffy here.) –You might as well just buy a dozen –I don’t love the coffee, but it’s ok

I’ve been going here since I was in diapers. This place has been around for ages and remains as amazing as I remember. Donuts are always light and fluffy, never greasy and sometimes you’re lucky and get a fresh out of the oven one. Mmm. One of my best gal friends is a donut aficionado and her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when I brought her a box of heaven from here. They are open 24 hours and I have had many a drunken donut here(don’t look at me). Staff is always really pleasant and service is fast. It’s cash only, but there is an ATM on site in case you don’t have any on you. If you love donuts, Donut Shack does not disappoint!

OMG where do start?! Their donuts are absolutely amazing! So delicious! I’m so surprised how light and airy the donuts are! Their Boston crème is one of the best I’ve ever had! Perfect place for your late night cravings. Totally appreciate that they’re open 24 hours. Closer than Krispy Kreme. Bottom line, if you’re questioning yourself as to whether or not you should try it, just GO and see and taste for yourself! But as everyone else has said, it’s cash only, but there is an ATM in the store in case you forget. $ 7.50(tax included) for a dozen is hands down a good enough reason to forgive yourself for not having more self-restraint.

Bottom Line: This decades old donut shop continues to woo customers with delicious homemade donuts served with a smile. If you are wondering how a little donut shop has such awesome Unilocal reviews, here’s why: — Awesome donuts. The Chop Suey is their signature donut but I still love a Boston Crème. They are made fresh, in store unlike chain donut shops. Something about these handcut donuts make them all the tastier. Light and fluffy, never swimming in grease. — The donut holes are awesome too! I think they come in six or seven flavors(compared to DD that only offers them in three) and they are great for sharing. Showing up to work with a box of donut holes(available in two sizes) makes«a case of the Mondays» disappear. — Fresh coffee served in sturdy cups with sealable lids — Soup! Yes, they make great soup and I think there is even a soup and donut special. — Although the décor is dated, don’t think this place is dirty. Despite being a 24⁄7 business, Donut Shack is always perfectly clean. The owners take great pride in this establishment. — Nostalgia. Many people in the Severna Park area have been coming here for years or even decades. Every time I walk in here, it brings back memories of my childhood.(Mostly begging my Mom to take me here after church.) — Prices are very reasonable. As others have pointed out, Donut Shack is a cash only establishment. Although this can kinda be a pain, I am sure it helps keep their prices low and they do have an ATM inside. Old school donuts, with a new spin, these pastries are real deal fresh with a taste of the past using modern ingredients. If you are expecting small Krispy Kreme size donuts you are going to be alarmed. My only complaint is that they only take cash. They do however have an onsite ATM machine. Great food at a great price, and a family owned and operated shop that is open every time I have needed a sugar fix. God bless the small mom and pop place, show them your support.

If you ever miss the quality of fresh dunkin donuts from decades ago, this is seriously the place to go. It’s been 15 years since my lips have ever tasted such divine deliciousness. Their moist donut are cheap, big, flavorful, and most importantly don’t skimp on the toppings. They are open 24/7, their staff friendly, cash only, and home to nostalgia. This is how all donut shops should be damnit!
