Americas Best Value Inn

This has been one of my least favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at. First, I will admit, the options are slim in this small town — but next time I will definitely stay in Springfield instead, and travel the extra 30 min to Seymour. Problem number one: they didn’t give me the room I booked online. They made me handwrite all my personal information that I had already given online over again. They seemed to have no reference to anything I booked online in the first place. This motel is being run like its 1980 apparently. Hand written/​paper EVERYTHING. Next, after getting the room we actually booked (after complaining) we were placed next to the stairs, which was pure awesome since we had a toddler with us, and next to the stairs is probably the nosiest room in the building since people come and go at all hours of the night. The place is LOUD. Everything echos. People can be heard slamming doors, running stairs, talking loudly in the hallway on phones, etc all night. Oh, and the website doesn’t tell you … ITS NEXT TO A TRAIN TRACK. Be prepared to be woken up all night by the loud train. This hotel is next to an intersection where blowing the horn is mandatory so that was fun. Best part of the experience (sarcastically) — they offer you little to no bedding. All they give you on the bed is a thin little blanket. It was FREEZING! There are no extra blankets stored in the room. That was probably one of the worst parts for me personally. We stayed three long nights, and my husband, son and myself were exhausted after our trip from not sleeping for three nights. We would have checked out after the first night, but they charge you up front for your entire stay when you arrive so we were stuck. Honestly, you’re better off staying somewhere else.

Rooms are clean. Have a Fridge, Microwave, Iron, Ironing Board, and Coffeemaker in the rooms, but no elevator. Since I am on second floor… only gets 3 stars!!! Anybody out there traveling for business and using the clc (Corporate Lodging Card) card they do take it.
