I am so sad that I’ve lived to see the day when Carolyn’s Weenie Wagon is no longer a fixture in Seymour! She was such a special woman: always friendly and always served up delicious food! One time I walked with one of my family’s dogs down to the center of Seymour, back when she was still by the river, to apply for a job, and I stopped at Carolyn’s weenie wagon for a hot dog and unfortunately it was around 4, which was when she closed up for the day. I was bummed because she didn’t have any of the usual fixings that I ordered, but instead she offered me the last hotdog she had with either ketchup or mustard. I gladly accepted it and got out my money to pay her and she told me it was on the house. I guess she knew I had walked a lot and my dog looked hungry too. I was literally stunned, but that just shows the kind of woman that Carolyn is and how she ran her little hot dog stand. What angers me so very much is how her weenie wagon closed thanks to some douches at the health derp-artment saying she needed better sink facilities(She’s a HOTDOGSTAND, why on Earth is that even a relevant concern?!) and Pilgrim Barbecue closing down, which apparently was where she kept her meat on her days off. I am very much ashamed for the entire Valley when I think about how many restaurants there are that could have stepped up to the plate and helped out a fellow business owner and allowed her to store her hot dogs and whatnot in their fridges. It angers me because I read an article in the paper about her that stated that this weenie wagon was HERLIFE’S DREAM and she had to close it up because the town she worked in and served for many years couldn’t give her a little help in return. It’s truly terrible and this is why I miss her little hot dog stand and wish that some day she might return and restore my faith in humanity, especially in this Godforsaken Valley, a little bit.

Always wanted to go here and I finally did today and I got to tell you, I wish I had gone sooner. The two ladies working the truck were very nice and quite funny, making waiting for my food very enjoyable. You can get a good sense of their humor by looking at the end of their menu for the«add-on» charges. The food selection is just hotdogs and burgers but there is a great variety of ways to have them. I had a footlong dog with«the works»(mustard, onions, relish and kraut) and a jalapeño burger with cheese. Both were flavorful and extremely good! Unfortunately, there was a sign up saying they were going to be closing in November. That would be a shame as it was great food at a reasonable price with some great service. Hopefully the issues will be resolved soon and it will be sticking around.

This place is as simple as it gets, I’ve been here once and got a chili dog. The dogs aren’t the best quality I’ve ever had but they are still very good and if your looking for a quick bite to eat and are fan of dogs you can’t go wrong here.

Very reluctant to say anything negative about this little spot. Carolyn works extremely hard just about everyday. With that said, I’ll have to say these hot dogs were average at best. Incredibly salty too. I know what your thinking… this guy’s a jerk. Well lol sometimes but not in this case. My wife got this joint with jalapenos on it. she was very pleased. I got two, the first one was pretty much the works… again average. And the second had peanut butter on it… it was ok. I will have to try this place again to see if I can give it a better rating.

Carolyn’s really is the best — Beats Super Duper Wennie any day, hands down. My only fear is that as the downtown area of Seymour develops, which it is doing, that she will get moved out. I hope not

CLOSED. Carolyn’s Weenie Wagon surpassed my expectations. She steams the regular size dog($ 2) and grills the long($ 3). Enjoyment of both on four occasions so far convinced me that hers are far better than at Duchess — which also serves only Hummel Bros. hotdogs. She cooks to order, offering mild or spicy mustard. Her dogs and kraut are steaming hot when you unwrap the foil. Carolyn’s long dog buns are straight-sided, buttered, and toasted on the grill. Carolyn’s weenies are worth 5 stars! … am going back for her kielbasa grinder.

Delicious, cheap, and run by one of the nicest people around. The Weenie Wagon escaped fire a few weeks ago and is back up and running. If you’re in the area you would be a fool not to stop by.

Carolyn’s is a roadside Hot Dog stand that serves a variety of foods including hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches and cheese steaks. She is a favorite spot for locals whom she knows most of by name and she is there just about everyday. She truly loves what she does and makes all of her food to order and with love. She makes one of the best cheeseburgers around.
