Such a disappointment. Stopped in for breakfast and it without doubt the worst food I’ve tried to eat. The gravy tasted like it was from a can, biscuits tasted frozen and the pancakes tasted like they had a love affair with the microwave. The menu is so big and convoluted there is no way they can possibly actually cook anything and overall it was an experience I will spend a long time trying to forget.

Drunk, hung over, or about to start drinking? Pre lube up your systems here, folks. A year or two ago was the prime time to come to Kary’s, formally Family Restaurant. After the purchase and takeover, food was prime quality with ample portions, friendly staff, and a small bill. Nowadays it’s a shady three-card-Monty of food, where you think you’re going to pay nothing for steak and eggs and get away with it, but just get overcooked steak, undercooked potatoes, and the runs. I weep for the loss of one of Seymour’s only few good places to eat. We all watched the decline over time, and I finally pulled the plug after my last cleansing.

I ordered take out tonight. 2 spaghetti dinners with garlic bread. When I called the order in, I specifically asked if the dinners came with garlic bread. I was told yes. I picked the orders, went home and found 2 dinner rolls in place of garlic bread. I also found cooked carrots in the same container as the spaghetti. When I called Kary’s and asked about the bread, the comment was, «I don’t know.» No offer to make it right, no apology. I also explained that the spaghetti picked up the taste of the cooked carrots… again, no offer to make it right, no apology. We will not be back. We had always loved this place. I tried to eat the spaghetti and can’t get over the carrot taste. I’m so disappointed and now I also have no dinner.

Stopped in here while passing through town; mostly because it was the only dinner I could find. First impression of the place was that it was an old place; probably built in the 50’s, and maybe remodeled once in the 60’s. Nothing inside the place matched as far as colors or décor, and overall the place was pretty dingy and unkept. I ordered a cheese and mushroom omelet, with hash browns and white toast. The omelet came with two slices of processed american cheese on the outside, and no cheese inside. I prefer to have my cheese inside the omelette, and I prefer real cheese. The mushrooms where canned, and you could tell that they were just put into the omelette right out of the can. The hash browns were rehydrated; they were very wet and mushy. I ordered them extra crispy, and they came burnt on the outside… The toast was good though. All in all I was not very happy with my food here, and would defiantly never go back.

Not sure how long this has been called«Kary’s». I did have to laugh because there is a sign in the restaurant that has a piece of paper taped over what ever the original name was that now says Kary’s. Pretty cheesy! My god… Buy a new sign or take the old one down. I feel bad about the 2 star rating because the service was very friendly and overall very good. The problems that bring every thing down are the décor and the food. I orders an omelet with hashbrowns. The omelet had a couple pieces of American cheese melted on the outside… No chesse on the inside. I am not a fan if this!!! The hashbrowns were a little burnt and rated like they came out of a bag. The place was not dirty, just oddly mismatched in its colors. The men’s bathroom was really crazy. Brown, green and blue. But not in a cool way! Actually, I could give a shit about décor as long as things were clean… But this was weird!
