I arrived into Seymour very late on a Saturday night after visiting Louisville. Most restaurants were already closed, but several fast food options were still open late night. As I was driving through town, I decided to pull into Sonic Drive-In which did not look that busy. Sonic Drive-In is one of my favorite fast food chains and there are two decent Sonic locations(in MA) within 30 minutes of my NH home. Sonic is expanding in the northeast and my friends in the Albany, NY area are very excited for the Latham, NY Sonic to open very soon, a first for the 518! Anyways, I needed something good and quick and not too much food. I decided to use the drive-thru instead of parking the vehicle at a menuboard. At the drive thru speaker, I ordered 2 Premium Beef Hot Dogs, a New York Dog($ 2.29 plus tax) and a Chicago Dog($ 2.39 plus tax), so I could sample two different regions in the same meal. I did not order a soft drink here, since I drove up the road to McDonald’s for a $ 1 Large Diet Coke. This Sonic is a bit different than the ones near my home. There is no drive-thru pickup window at this store, but instead you pull up to the front curb, where a carhop comes outside on roller skates to deliver your order, pay the carhop at the curb. I only had to wait 3 minutes and my 2 hot dogs were delivered with a smile to my car, $ 5.01 with tax. The 2 hot dogs I had were very good! The New York Dog was topped with sauerkraut, fried onions, and spicy mustard on a soft hot dog roll. The Chicago Dog was topped with chopped raw onions, mustard, small hot peppers, dill pickle, tomato slices on a poppy seed hot dog roll. I enjoyed the dogs with an ice cold Diet Coke and I was all good for the evening. I will reiterate that Sonic needs to build stores in the 603(NH), though the 978(MA) is close by to me.
