Very disappointed ! Salsa was good always had to ask for refills on sodas and salsa. Food was below average and very expensive for what you receive. I will not be returning . The hostess brought water in cups with lids for my grandchildren the waiter did not for their sodas… ended up with spilled root beer …

Came back to give it another shot after a couple years. You are now greeted with a huge sign that says«we are not responsible for lost items» Slow service getting seated. Had to ask for a refill on water. Ordered the Sunday fajitas special. Came with only 3 flour shells, that is just odd by any standard. Some of the onions parts were the outside of the onion and so it was stiff, chewy and overall not very good. Very large pieces of peppers also. Waiter dropped off our food, haven’t seen him since. This place is just getting worse and worse. Big disappointment again.

We have eaten at Miguel’s numerous times over the years, but this place has gone down hill. We ate there 9−26−15 and won’t eat there again. One of the waiters looks like a gang member. I ordered one meal and got something else. The place has changed and not worth going to anymore. The last two times we were there, not many customers were there. Enough to fill outside seating only, on a Sat. night. We are going to try Mac’s next time in Shady Cove

This is a nice Mexican restaurant with outdoor river view seating. The menu is large and they have a full bar. The food was good, however it was fairly bland, unlike most Mexican restaurants. In other words, if you’re used to spicy Mexican food, you need to ask them to spice it up for you.

Their food is average and their portions are good, except for cheese, they only put like 2 spreads on. Margaritas are good and you get free dessert. If you go on Sunday kids meals are only $ 2! The atmosphere is nice sitting by the river. Don’t go when the parking lot is full unless you want to wait forever.

This is a detailed review of my experiences at Miguel’s. I have been coming here for years with my family. We enjoy the view of the river. It was peaceful and enjoyable. I’ve never had major complaints with the service or food until recently. I would have given this place a higher rating, but it has gone too far my last couple times visiting here. Service(0⁄5): recently, a couple waiters have redefined what terrible service means. They are rude, sluggish, and sloppy. A couple are so tatted up and scruffy, they look like convicts. The basics like refilling water, chips, and salsa are nearly ignored. They usually offer a complimentary dessert after the meal. We had to remind them the past two times eating here. Honestly, the staff bussing the tables and cleaning(and one of the waitresses) are nicer than the waiters. Food(2⁄5): I can’t say too much because I usually get one of the big burritos like the Miguel’s burrito. Margaritas are okay; smaller than other drinks I’ve had at other Mexican restaurants. When I ate here in July though, I found a long black curly hair in my burrito. They did not comp our burrito and said they would give us a new margarita instead. Instead, they poured us a small glass of a leftover margarita and thought that was good enough. Atmosphere(3⁄5): this is Miguel’s saving factor. People come here for the river views from the deck. It’s honestly very beautiful and serene. You can watch rafters paddle down to the dock in the summer months. They have a lot to work with here. So much potential. The restaurant itself is not up to par in cleanliness. I judge the cleanliness of a restaurant heavily by the tables and the bathrooms. The bathrooms here have always been trashy and disgusting. The tables are sometimes sticky and have bits of food from previous guests stuck in various places. You’d think a restaurant’s cleanliness is a reflection of the cleanliness of the kitchen. At least I do. In this case, it has been poor lately. Conclusion: I would not currently waste your time visiting this establishment. They need to earn your patronage and support through excellent service and respect of their customers. They currently have a 1 star from me. Maybe I will go back someday, but not until something changes. As of now I am choosing not to give this place any more of my time or money. I am from the rogue valley and love supporting local businesses, especially restaurants. I believe that everyone should support the hard work of local establishments if they deserve to stay in business and flourish. In the case of Miguel’s, they simply do not deserve your business at the time of this review. Thanks for reading my review. I hope it helps to save your time and money as well!

Great view and location. Food was rather unforgettable. I asked our server what his favorite was… a seafood burrito that sounded wonderful… but it wasn’t. Should have gone back to Mac’s for dinner!

Don’t waste your time. We stood at the front desk waiting to be seated. One waitress was busy typing on the computer. Another staff member saw us, but blew us off. We didn’t expect much, given the poor reviews. We were never seated so we left. What a waste of a good location. Shame.

Service is good. But the food is just ok. The reviews are correct when they talk about the bland food. We sat out on the deck and we were assaulted by flies and wasps. I doubt we’ll ever eat here again. I’m assuming their business all comes from rafters and tourists. Poor souls don’t know what they’re in for.

I am from Napa, CA. but visit here often as I have family that lived in Shady Cove since I was little. This is a place I will always visit and give my service with a nice margarita, chips & salsa, and mix of food. You can’t go wrong with a understanding we are in a town of 1600. Long live the local restaurants!

The setting on the deck cannot be beat. Itwas very clean, the staff were attentive refilling chips and drinks. At our table we tried fish tacos, taco salad, fajitas and watermelon margarita. All were fresh and filling. Its not gourmet, its typical chain food. But it hit the spot and was a nice walk from our hotel.

Let me say first and foremost, if I could give this«restaurant» zero stars, I would. The wait staff was rude, inconsiderate and absent most of the meal. It took us 20min to get our menus and within 2 min of getting our menus we were asked if we were ready to order… the food was bland and sub par. Our chicken burrito consisted of a tortilla wrapped chicken… that’s it. No filler of cheese, rice & or beans… just chicken and tortilla. Rice and beans were served as a side. Avoid this place and if you need to eat while in Shady Cove, go to Chevron and buy a Powerbar, least then the attendant will be polite and attentive to your needs.

Not a whole lot of dining options in Shady Cove, so I gave Miguel ‘s a try. It seemed better than the local greasy spoon option. The lunch special price seemed pretty reasonable, and the portion of rice and beans that accompanied it were pretty generous. To echo previous reviewers, it was pretty bland. The only thing that really had any zip was the salsa that came with the also bland tortilla chips. The Chile relleno had an egg coating that was very thick, with a cheddar cheese –ish filling. Even the pepper tasted flavorless. The enchilada with Verde sauce was pretty meager too.

Pretty disappointed here. 3 times during fire and three different tacos. Not good as any taco cart. Chile rellenos was an omlette… would recommend this unless stick in shady cove…

Right on the Rogue River. We sat on the deck and enjoyed the rafters and the river while we ate our lunch on Saturday. Food was good but a little bland. We got some habinero salsa from the kitchen which helped. Overall the experience was good. I would try more traditional entrees next time. The fish chicken shrimp combo isn’t that great.

OK decided to give Miguel’s another chance after my horrible experience at the Eagle Point location. I give it 2 stars for the river front dining and the small desert they served after the meal. Other then that there is nothing good to say about the food at Miguel’s. I so wanted to go to the kitchen and ask if they don’t believe in seasoning! Beans no taste whatsoever! Rice might as well been cardboard, and my steak fajita’s I think were made with steak’ems. The onions and green peppers didn’t even have a taste to them so pretty sure they were frozen then removed for cooking with the processed steak meat. Seriously with the location’s they have they could be raking in the money if they just hired some cooks that know how to use fresh ingredients and seasoning.

Huge menu. Great view from seats on the covered patio overlooking the river. Food is a mixed bag; some items tasty, others just«meh». Service very slow.
