Great local running store. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I have been very pleased with the shoes I purchased here. In addition to great products, the shop runs a weekly run club and often offers seminars and trainings, free of charge. Cleveland Running Company is a nice change of pace from the big box stores, like Dick’s. I highly recommend anyone who runs, at any level, to check this place out.

Time and time again – a terrific experience! The staff is knowledge and can answer any question about their inventory. If specs are important, then this store is for you! I am continually amazed at the support I receive with each visit.

Cleveland Running Company is definitely among the best Specialty Running Stores in the city! Cleveland is a bit spoiled in this area — and that’s pretty awesome IMHO! Over the past few years, they have expanded their shoe selection and carry both road and trail shoes. They also have a great selection of apparel and nutrition/hydration products. There is also a running group that meets on Saturday mornings and they often host clinics. Check out their Facebook page for details and upcoming events!

I discovered Cleveland Running Company about 2 years ago… maybe a little less. Love this store. They are the only store in the Cleveland area that stocks barefoot/minimal shoes. I haven’t shopped here in a while because I worked for Dick’s sporting goods and thus got discounts directly from various brands/manufacturers. Now that I no longer work there, I will be in to CRC much more frequently. It is a hike from the west side, but if you’re looking for minimal shoes and friendly, helpful people, it’s worth it. Vertical Runner and Second Sole Rocky River are great stores as well, and the new Fleet Feet in Westlake seems decent(only been there once) but they only offer 1 or two barefoot/minimal/zero drop shoes. This is where Cleveland Running Company excels: they not only have a great selection of standard cushioned running shoes, but a huge selection of barefoot/minimal styles and a wealth of knowledge on natural running. Their staff is super helpful and really will make you WANT to come back. Definitely check out this store. They also have great apparel and accessories. I’m on their e-mail list and they do some really cool stuff in the store as well.

I met Jeff from Cleveland Running Company when he did a running clinic at my gym. I’m not even really a runner, but stumbled into the class and got SO much out of it. Anyway, I remembered the store when my fiancé needed to get some good running shoes, and we both agreed that Jeff was as helpful there. I’d recommend Cleveland Running Company to anyone. Both pairs of shoes that my fiancé purchased were on sale as well, coincidentally at that. As the other reviewer mentioned, there is a running group that meets at the store on weekends. It was made clear that these meet-ups are open to everyone, and people split up into smaller groups according to level and desired distance.

Cleveland Running– your local athletic running shoe store. Living in the vicinity of downtown Cleveland often poses a problem– there’s no shopping stores around. You have to battle the ugly stop and go traffic down Cedar Road for a good 40 minutes to get to a suburban store, only to have it overladen with people and even more shopping traffic. Who wants that? I googled«running shoes and cleveland» and up came the Cleveland Running store in Shaker Heights. «What? I’ve never heard of this place!», I thought. And off I drove– down Van Aken in search of this store. This store is located in the Shaker Plaza. I walked in to a small, but well stocked store. The owner was super friendly and knowledgeable. He had been a manager at the rival shoe store that everyone always goes to, and opened his store almost 2 years ago. It’s definitely a small shoe store, but he’s super knowledgeable and friendly. Being a hardcore runner, I didn’t want to waste my time, I wanted some good shoes! He showed me probably the largest Vibram/barefoot style running shoe section I’ve seen in Cleveland. Not wanting that, I asked for more of a stability shoe to train for my half marathon. He led me to a pair of Scott’s– a European brand known for their shoes. I put them on and instantly fell in love. They were soft, cushiony, worked well for my flat feet, and they had a ROUND top. I’m always getting blisters cuz my shoes are too narrow at the top, but these were GOOD. The store is new, so they’re still working on getting brands like Asics and Brooks in, but they have some definitely unique and solid brands in there that suits any type of runner. And they’re good quality stuff too. Don’t want to drive all the way to the suburbs? Stop by Cleveland Running in Shaker Heights! He even told me that they have group runs meet at their stores on Saturdays… I’m going to have to check it out sometime. Nonetheless, I just went for a run… and my feet feel oh so good. Thanks Cleveland Running! And YESssss for supporting local businesses! :)
