This is an old fashioned barbershop that I have been going to for over 40 years. First Nick, then Joe and now Trish. Each have retained an excellent staff that learns how YOU like your hair done. They are reasonably priced and it is an enjoyable experience. All 4 of our sons got their hair done there till they grew up and moved. A great place for kids first haircuts too. I will only go here

Perfect cut and straight razor shave. I’m now a regular customer. Only wished they took credit cards since I never have cash.

My husband began patronizing Sgro’s when we moved to Shaker Heights last March. On his initial visit he received a cut from Lawrence, who instinctively gave him one of the best, most flattering haircuts he has ever received! Since then, he has visited approximately every 6 weeks and continues to get consistent, flawless haircuts from Lawrence. When he comes home, he always looks remarkably dashing! As a woman, I am accustomed to paying upwards of $ 50 for a haircut, so the price of $ 17 seems like a bargain to me, though he considers it a bit on the high side. Also, they work on a walk-in-only basis, so he sometimes ends up waiting for a while or returning another day if the line is long. Neither of those are problematic issues, though, or a detterant from continuing to come here — just something to keep in mind. Sgro’s is a great neighborhood barber and we’re pleased to have them nearby!

Great place and friendly barbers. I recently moved to Shaker and have been looking for a place to go for haircuts. Looks like I found it! Sylvia was great and did a fantastic job. Highly recommended!

Someone claiming to be the owner named Patricia S. sent me this cowardly message: Dear Mr. «Jesus» Since you have never patronized my business, your groundless criticism, that negatively affects the business, which you posted on the Sgro’s Barbershop Unilocal page falls under the category of defamation. As much as you may find this amusing, many small business owners like myself work very hard and take our business seriously. Therefore, I am formally requesting you to remove this post immediately in order to avoid further action. Thank you. Sgro’s Barbershop cc: Dworken and Bernstein Co. L.P.A. Cleveland, Ohio My response: Listen very carefully, I am a real person, who did in fact patronize your business. Your message is in fact the baseless criticism. I have witnesses to the shitty haircut I received in Cleveland from one of your barbers, so I’m sorry if you don’t like it, but no law firm on Earth can change my review or the fact you guys fucked up my hair. I am not removing my review and fuck you for asking. I will end up owning that barbershop if you fuck with me. Facts are: I did receive a $ 17 haircut(how do I know the price genius?) and your barber did miss a long strand of hair as I described and my review is 100% factual and I was forced to cut my own hair the day after receiving your«professional» services, so fuck you if you don’t like it. Cowards that would rather attack others than face a mirror. Perhaps you should train your barbers a bit more so they don’t ruin people’s hair?

If I had to choose where to get my haircut forever, this place would be it. I got my first hair cut here in 1983, and was a loyal customer until I moved in 2002. I go back whenever I visit my family to get my ears lowered. To all of the staff — you make Sgro’s the best barbershop in Cleveland. If you have a kid, you have to get a picture in the historic horse chair!

I recently moved to the area and was searching for a barber shop nearby. I picked this place out of the list I found on Unilocal and I was very pleased and impressed. The gentleman who cut my hair was very friendly and relaxed. He held a wonderful conversation all while giving me one of the best, clean cuts I have had in forever. Also an added plus was the use of hot cream to clean up all the lines. Highly recommended.

Sgro’s gives uniformily terrible haircuts. I grew up down the street and went there a lot as a kid. Whenever one of our friends came to school with an uneven, ridiculously bad haircut, we knew he went to Sgro’s. Joe is fun to talk to, but I do not recommend this place.

They’ve recently remodeled making it feel more open and added a TV that can easily be seen while you’re getting your hair cut. They’ve got a nice batch of barbers — I’ve had 3 or 4 cut my hair and have always been happy with the results. The prices are very good for a professional barber — low I’d even say.

This is a classic old-school Italian barber shop. It even has the characteristic lemon tree in the back. It is a walk-in place, and even when it’s busy you usually won’t have to wait terribly long. It’s small but has a pleasant atmosphere and a convenient location, a short walk from the blue-line rapid station, and with a small parking lot in back. I got my hair cut here while I lived on the east side of Cleveland, and I was always happy with my haircuts. Even after I moved to the west side, I would sometimes come back over here if I was in the area. I’ve had good experiences with all the people who work here, but Joe in particular is always very nice and fun to talk to.
