St Dominic Church

A great family, service oriented church that is filled with young families. There is a children’s school that is part of the church so it is many filled with young couples and their children. We often go for the service and end up watching the kids squirm and play. The service component of the message is nice to hear and there are always local and international programs that are in need of assistance. A nice peaceful atmosphere.

We’ve been parishioners at St. Dominic for over 12 years. Fr. Tom Fanta is a tremendously gifted homilist — I always leave mass feeling like I’ve learned something or will think about something differently from that point on. Jim Carr is a real gift to our parish as well — the music is always lively and diverse — very different from the other Catholic parishes I’ve been to over the years. A welcoming church which is dedicated to the school (St. Dominic School, grades K — 8), the parish and the poor of the community. There are a tremendous amount of service opportunities available for all ages. The Catholic Church continues to draw criticism for a host of issues, much of it well-​deserved — but this church makes me believe in all the good that can come from being Catholic and Christian.

F. Tom really makes this church welcoming. The music is good and the message is current. I got married here almost 10 years ago and people still say it was one of the most beautiful weddings they’d ever been to. I wish Catholic communities were always this warm and inviting.

Not sure I agree with the earlier write up of SD’s as a «mega church.» Gesu seems like more of one to me – it looks like a barn and is about as big as one.
I always have felt that SD Church is a small community. I go back when I visit my family and all of my friends and siblings friends’ parents remember me and ask what I am doing in life. Most know because the community is so close knit.
Fr. Tom is pretty good, though he wasn’t the Pastor during the majority of the time I lived in Cleveland.

I enjoy this church. The priest always speaks a good word. It’s the megachurch of catholic churches with dozens of services throughout the week to accomodate all the members. If you like big churches, you will enjoy it. The people are nice, just too big for me.
Lotsa kids too. Great for new families.
