Service was very good and the pop over to start was yummy with the honey butter addition. My server was very prompt and friendly and steered me to a great entrée this evening. They have a very nice wine selection a full bar and just a few tap beers on hand. Prices are very reasonable. And the salad bar is only a dollar more over adding a side salad. The single bone in Frenched pork chop was slightly over cooked for my taste. Still juicy bit I would have stopped at an internal temp of 135 so slightly pink inside and juicier. The asparagus is good even though tibia barely Luke warm. Wish it was warmer. The Jack Daniel’s sauce was spot on and enhanced the flavor of the chop. Overall a nice meal to start this weeks engagement. Arrived safe and sound and ahead of the incoming blizzard

I wasn’t expecting much, so Dangerfield’s came through with my expectations. We sat near the window and got to see the ducks, so that was kinda cool, but it was FREEZING cold and we had to wear our coats. Our service was mediocre. He suggested a Panini sandwich for me as one of their best items, and it was not very good at all. Cheese was barely melted inside. Portions were large, and everyone took stuff home. Unimpressed, but it was inexpensive considering portion size. They do have a salad bar, and I wish I would have just gotten that as my entrée instead, as there was a decent selection there.

I was in about a month ago Friday evening. The food good value ok taste and service was ok. However, I was ¾ of the way finished with my glass of wine when I noticed something floating in my glass. When I looked closer 20+ dead fruit flies were in the glass of wine I just drank over half of… to say it was repulsive would be an understatement. I called our waitress over and quietly mentioned there were a gross amount of bugs in my wine. She asked if I wanted another, which I didn’t because I was too grossed out. We had some friends join us and I didn’t want to address the issue in front of them. I believe the glass of wine was taken off the bill. But I wish I would have had the opportunity to speak with a manager or address this further. I am guessing the fruit flies came from a bottle open and uncovered long enough to collect that many(which can’t be health code) rather than an empty glass, but either way I think it needs to be looked into how that could be served to a customer. Wrote to their Facebook, only response after like a month, please call the restaurant… Yeah no thanks, horrible customer care.

First time in. Ordered dinner off the regular menu. The Medjool Date salad was EXCELLENT! Nice portion and great flavor. Kudos to the chef. Cajun chicken pasta was also tasty — had lots of fresh herb flavor and portion was more than enough. The pre-dinner popover was a nice touch. Not a ton of draft selections, but very well priced.

We went for ½ price appetizers. My daughter had the pizza and it was very good. I ordered a cup of wild rice chicken soup and a popover to take home. It was also very good!

Not overly impressed. The menu is varied, which is nice when you do have a larger party with different tastes. Our meal started off on a rough note when the restaurant ran out of popovers and served dinner rolls instead. It was only about 6:45 when this happened(and the restaurant is open until 10), so this was extremely disappointing because many of the other tables around us had them. The other disappointing part of our experience was that we ordered appetizers, but they never showed up. Our server seemed surprised when we reminded him of the appetizers. The food overall was nothing exciting, but it did take a while for us to get it. I ordered a pesto and Italian sausage pasta dish and it was only OK. It was lukewarm, but sausage’s flavor was pretty good. We did order dessert and I had carrot cake, but it was nothing spectacular. A basic carrot cake, similar to one that you would purchase at a grocery store. The highlight of our entire experience was the honey butter – which is absolutely lovely. Overall, the service is slow and the menu is overpriced.

The boyfriend and I purchased a groupon and went here for the first time. Over priced food and staff are not helpful. The food was decent but not for the price you pay for it. Good thing we had a groupon and didn’t spend that much.

I recently discovered this place for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Overall, the food was pretty decent — 3.8 stars. We had a really large party, so I always chalk up food issues with huge parties. Overall, the steak and potatoes were cooked perfectly. What bumped it to a 4 star? Loved the service that we had — sweet, kind wait staff. Plenty of parking. Great bar/patio area. The only bad thing? The creepy, Lord-Of-The-Rings like swamp/pond in the back. But other than that, nice place to go for a night out!

We were there for the Easter Brunch and it was over-the-top great! The food was delicious, and the wait staff were real pros at handling such an intimidating crowd. I think the prices are reasonable for the quality you get. Highly recommended!

Sad… so sad to write this. My last experience of 5 yrs ago was really great. As of Easter 2015… ugh hhhh This was the worst buffet I have remembered in my lifetime. I could have bought everything frozen and put in warming trays at home with better success. My poor mother got so suck an hour after… my parents and I all hope that we are given an opportunity to this this place go back to the way it was years ago.

Go for the river view and a beer on the deck in the summer. That is the only reason to go here. We came for lunch and the place was almost empty but it took over ½ an hour to get our food. The pulled pork sandwich was not hot. The sandwich one of our party ordered was so dry she asked if it was supposed to be toasted. The waitress looked a little confused with that question and said no, it’s not toasted. The popovers were room temperature. The only way popovers should be served are piping hot out of the oven. The room was so cold we all had to wrap up in our coats. Not going back.

They bring out some bread which was very bland. I had the Chicken Parmesan topped over fettuccini Alfredo. The fettuccini was mediocre the chicken wasn’t bad. Overall I would say he food is pretty average. We had a beautiful view over a pond and some woods!

First, our waitress was very rude. I asked what kind of ciders they have(since they only have a wine list, no beers listed) and she asked if I meant apple juice. Clearly she doesn’t even know what cider is, even though they do serve it. I ordered fish and chips and I got something that looked like fish sticks from a box. The only good part was the French fries. I would never go back.

I am writing this review on behalf of my father and mother. My parents have been here over 20 times. The service has always been great. Prices are decent for the atmosphere. They recommend this establishment. I personally find this place good as well. This review is short and sweet because this establishment can be summed up with few words! Enjoy

I took my visiting parents there for lunch the other day and we had a very nice time. The food was good and the service was great. My father and I had the French Dip sandwich and my mother had the Chicken Pesto Sandwich. They were all tasty. The coleslaw was also yummy. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of swans and ducks frolicking in the spring fed water. My elderly father has dementia and watching the wildlife really entertained him while we were enjoying our meal. We plan on returning tomorrow for another lunch date before my parents leave.

Excellent restaurant in «downtown» Shakopee. I had driven by this place probably over 100 times and finally decided to dine here this weekend. What a great chioce! The food was absolutely excellent. I had the prime rib(which, oddly enough, is only available in one size, but it is on the menu every night) with wild rice soup. The meal also included an oversized popover with honey butter. It was fantastic. Calorie-wise, this was a splurge, but it was definitely worth it. My steak was perfectly cooked to my preference and the waitstaff were not only friendly but excellent in refilling drinks and making sure we had everything that we needed. Price is also very excellent. For a dessert, beer, soup, popover, and medium-to-large sized steak, I paid about 28 dollars. For the quality of the meal and service, this place was excellent. I will definitely be returning.

Bad service and the like can be overcome by great food, but the opposite is not true. It doesn’t matter how nice the restaurant, or friendly the service, if you food is awful, the restaurant is awful. The food at Dangerfield’s is awful. The Fish, of the Fish & Chips apparently was left in the frier overnight. The viscosity of their salad dressings & tarter sauce must be designed for old people to easily consume through a tube or straw. I could go on but it is lunch time and I am losing my appetite.
