The place is clean and has nice decorations. However, their service is poor. When I walked in I asked for a table and the lady said, «what?!» She didn’t signal me or tell me she was going to seat me but I followed her and watched as she wiped down the table and signaled me to sit. My server was a nice elderly gentleman. I gave him my order and food was served within 5 minutes. I asked for extra meat but could not tell if I got it. I did see my extra shrimp which I figured my extra meat was there too. The meat was not fatty which I love. I felt they served quality food. My bowl looked amazing! After adding all my fixings(bean sprouts, sriracha, lime, & hoisin sauce), I had my first taste; my food was not hot. It was only minutes from the time my bowl was on my table and my broth and noodles were warm. It is a real killer when hot food is not served hot. I know the broth was not boiling when they served it from the pot. That is terrible to me. I took a few bites to see if I would like it at all. The taste was bland. It lacked the beef taste and salt. I concluded that was turned off. I drank my water which needed refilling. The server didn’t come around to fill it. The lady who sat me walked by so I asked her for a something to take my meal home. She left and arrived with my request within seconds. I packed my food, walked up to pay and found my meal was a whopping $ 15.xx! This is what I get for a bowl of regular size phở, extra meat and 4 pieces of shrimp. I paid and tipped for what my overall experience was worth. I definitely have to remind myself that this is not the place for phở or service.

Decent Vietnamese restaurant for the suburbs. Some items, like the phở, are better than others with some variance day by day. Customer Service is bad(except for one server) so we prefer to regularly carry out but even that does not always work out. A couple of times our order has been lost and more often I have placed orders only to find out upon arrival that they are out of items. The last time we dined in with friends from out of the area we waited 45 minutes(with small children) for our food while other tables with adults are who ordered after us(for similar items) were served first. It was a very disappointing experience and our friends were understandably very frustrated.

My wife and I both ordered the beef Phở and we were both delighted with the flavor of the soup and the noodles. My kids had the fried rice and it was excellent as well. My three year old can be a snob when it comes to fried rice and she tore it up! This place didn’t skimp on the shrimp or beef either. The waiters were also very friendly and funny. Come here for the Phở, you will not be disappointed.

I don’t need to drive to the city. I love the tricolor that they have. The finally brought down the prices of the flan. It’s decent. They have been around for awhile and I’m glad they haven’t shut down yet. Take out sometimes is a hassle. The guy didn’t hear me place two orders and I had to wait maybe another 20 minutes.

It’s a solid phở place. The service has been pretty decent here for the few times that I have visited. My sister and I both got the beef phở and split the cold cut banh mi sandwich. The phở is good, but being from Chicago it’s tough to beat a lot of the spots off Argyle. The sandwich is pretty good here. It’s crispy and fresh. I like that they have wooden chopsticks versus the plastic.

Terrible service. Their staff has absolutely no care for their customers. I’m a man who gives the benefit of the doubt. I’ve gone 3 times and left the 3rd time because they never came back to take my order. Same crap service, different day. Will never go back.

We love phở and they had a pretty extensive menu. Well priced and friendly staff. Our food came out quickly which was nice because we had 2 small kids with us. Portion was good for the price and it was tasty. Surprised to find such a good place in the burbs, highly recommend this place and would come back again when in the area.

I love this place, they have an extensive menu of Vietnamese and Chinese food. The food is delicious portions are large. My favorite things are the beef chow fun and the fresh spring rolls. The prices are very reasonable too. They are always packed so staff tries their best to get to everyone. Highly recommended!

+ Cheap + Quick + Tasty + Amongst a plethora of fast food chains, this is the only place that isn’t fast food. — The cut of beef used in my Beef Stew Noodle Soup was the worst piece of meat I’ve had. 90% of it was fat and gristle. Seriously. I piled almost all of it onto a side plate. — Service was poor. Staff sitting around eating and not caring that I walked in. No one took me to a table, so I seated myself. No one gave me a menu, I had to go up and get it myself. — My «waiter» didn’t speak any English, so asking questions about anything was simply futile. I must’ve been unlucky considering all the other reviews…

After they serve the good food fast, the server will no longer check on you. The rice platter is nice, lomein, noodles. We go here for lunch most of the time for their quick service. Not so friendly service but fast.

Solid Phở when I was in dire need and no Phở in site! I also ordered the Thai egg rolls and they were delish. Lemongrass chicken was also good. They forgot to put any utensils or napkins in my takeout order but I will still be back!

2 buddies and I were going to Badger Hill Brewing about a mile from Phở 83, so we decided to get some lunch. I ordered a Banh Mi(Pork) to split with my friends and my other friend got some spring rolls, which I got a hunk of. Very good. The stuffing was light and the wrapping was light. The Banh Mi was fantastic, mostly because the bread was so fresh. The bread is everything on these subs. Lu’s on Eat Street is better, but their’s are good. I dipped it my phở and it turned into a Vietnamese French Dip. Yummy. I got the chicken phở. Dear Lord was it good! The broth is perfect and a ton of noodles and sweet and savory chicken. I highly recommend. I was so full after the bowl of wonderful, it cut down on my beer at Badger Hill. I had a Tiger beer and Beerlau from Laos, refreshing lagers. $ 4 a piece, not bad for stuff you have never tried before. The service was very slow, and that is the only reason I don’t give it 5 stars. We waited about 10 minutes to get our bill after I asked for it. Nice guy though. I tried some of my friend’s rare beef phở, and it was also amazing!

Chicken wings are large and tasty. Their egg rolls are also great Vietnamese style. Phở 83 still continues to be my go to phở spot in the south metro the prices are good, customer service friendly and the food quick. Bonus they have a variety of Vietnamese desserts for $ 3.25 each my favorite is the tri-color. They also have Banh mi’s for under $ 5 !! Giving it two more stars because I always find myself wanting to come back

Customer service: Excellent. I don’t even have to order. They already know what I am ordering :) Parking: large parking lot out front, easy to find a spot. All the food is very good here. I recommend ordering the PHO. The broth is very good. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. I always order my desert first. The tri color is my favorite. They even have amazing prices for catering. I really enjoy the«mom and pop» feel of restaurants when you go to them and this is def one of them. They even offer beer and wine with your meal if that’s what you like. Great restaurant, great staff, great food. No complaints here. Very large portions for a very reasonable price.

I am torn between wanting to like this place or hating it. I am giving this place a 3 star because of their fast service. Their food — not what I have expected. I ordered their spring rolls — not fresh(drying up rice paper). Ordered seafood clear noodle — the dish came out swimming in broth and the seafood pieces floating like ships at sea(good size bowl but half empty space). The broth tasted more vegetarian — so that might be why it doesn’t taste very good. Overall — I really would like to «like» this place — but not sure if I would ever consider coming back.

Phở is not bad considering the location. But the service isn’t the best. The place is pretty filty. tables look like they were only spot cleaned, chairs still had food crubs/stains from the last cust who was there.(I actually had to use my own wet wipes to wipe down my table and chairs.) Overall food is mediocre for viet cusine. again. considering location, you take what you can get. go down 83 to Mystic Lake Casino for Phở if phở’s all you want. Pretty good, BIGBOWLS, and quick service and CLEAN!

I came here on recommendation from workers at the near by casino. First off a general rule of thumb is if a restaurant is famous for a certain dish, you should probably get that dish. That being said I did not follow that… I ordered chow mein. Much to my surprise when it came out there were no noodles in it, which I have always seen come in chow mein. It was mainly a few vegetables, some chicken, and mountain of cabbage. Although it was ok I was pretty bummed and mainly ate the chicken. That being said, my buddy who has a lot of experience with Asian food ordered the phở. He enjoyed it and was happy with the food. The family that owned it was very nice with helping us and answering questions. Morale of the story, order the phở.

I had heard a lot of great things about this place from some of the dealers at Canterbury park. This was the first time I had ordered phở from a restaurant, so it’s hard for me to judge it fairly, but I definitely enjoyed my meal, and the family who owned the restaurant was very helpful in explaining the menu. Both of my friends weren’t thrilled about their food, so I’m going to dock it a star from their point of view. One friend’s sweet and sour chicken was a bit cold, and my other friend didn’t get noodles in his chow mein, which he thought was a staple for the entrée. Overall, fair prices and a friendly family. I would recommend if you’re in the area, but it’s not a home run. Definitely get the phở as opposed to other options.

After performing for several hours at nearby Canterbury Park for Soundset, I felt famished and left with a crew of b-boys to go eat while Wiz Khalifa mumbled«Black and Yellow» into his mic.(Timing couldn’t have been better.) We found Phở 83 on Unilocal, only a mile away, and it was perfect because I needed to replenish my body with the broth of the beef gods. The place was PACKED, but luckily we got a booth near the rest rooms. I’m not going to factor Phở 83’s service in my review, because they clearly were understaffed for all the peeps looking for something to eat following the world’s largest grassroots hip-hop event that draws 30,000+ people each year.(C’mon, they should’ve known.) But anyways, I had the the oyster wings and Phở Dac Biet. Oyster Wings: Aight. I think the sauce should’ve been thicker, since it was a bit drizzly. The green onions were a nice touch. Phở Dac Biet: Generous portions for a reasonable price. I have to say that I was quite satisfied with my bowl and slurped that baby dry. If they could level it down a notch on the MSG, that would be great. #headaches For having 30+ people, I thought it was very clean. I would consider returning to Phở 83, if I had to perform next year. Would I go out of my way to eat there? I don’t think so.
