it is 2015, we found a hotel that could accommodate a families that had a pool, 945 pm on a Saturday we get a complaint that we are being too loud, well if you walk on the top floor it is loud. We got threatened that we are going to get kicked out w/o a warning. Keep in mind the final four games are still going on, prime time. In other words you can’t cheer for a team or have Well people in the same room. The workers stood outside of our room and waited til we got to out own rooms. What a joke, right now I am waiting for a knock on the door right now that we are being loud just walking in the room. The manager on is a joke. When we got here there were 5 cop cars outside the hotel, and it is a super unfriendly place. DON’T STAYHERE!!! 409600 – 1

Horrible Experience. The showers didn’t work in the morning. I called the front desk they suggested that I jump in the pool. I told them that I was going to miss my business meeting and that if I got fired that they would have a lawsuit on their hands. The owner called me back and tried kicked me out of the hotel, and threatened to call the police. I called the police and they told me that the owner sounds like an idiot to them and he had no right to call them. I talked to the owner again and he told me that he had been lying about calling the police.(obviously) Rooms are super dirty. There were fresh and wet semen stains on my room mates blanket. I have already contacted my bank and they are reversing the charges from last night. The owner of this hotel is an idiot. He tried to blame the water being off by saying that it was off in the whole city. It is not. Not only is the owner dishonest, rude and aggressive. He is also the person working the night shift. So chances are you will have to deal with him if you come here. My advice, don’t come here, even if you are rare enough to get a decent price. I stay at Wyndham hotels at least 4 times a month and this is the worst experience I have ever had here. Also, the breakfast and the Wifi are a joke. — Its like the owner cuts every corner he can to save a buck. I am calling Wyndham to complain now.

For some unknown reason dang near every hotel in Shakopee thinks they are a 5 star hotel and charge you more than they ever should. If you do not feel like paying out the wazoo for a subpar hotel your choices are almost nill, that is where this place comes in. They are one of if not the cheapest place in Shakopee yet they are on fairly par accommodations wise with almost all of them, which is not a good thing considering most of the places there are not worth the price. The staff was nice but it seemed like a fake nice. You do not need any security card to get into any part of the hotel except your room so you never know who might stumble into it at any time. As for our room, the first thing we noticed was the smell. Now as someone who grew up in Minnesota I know for about half the year you cannot open your windows because of the cold but you can still clean well enough to keep it from smelling like this one did. Lysol did not help one bit. It was like the carpet had got wet yet never cleaned even once. The drapes also had the same issue. Behind the dresser, t.v. heck anywhere there was tons of dust. Why was I looking behind there? Well folks, that is because if you need a plug for something there are so little of them you have to search behind things and then unplug stuff in order to use them so that is how I saw the inch of dust. This hotel was built in 1988 and the t.v. was almost as old as the hotel itself. I looked at it and it was from 1999. Not that it was bad or anything, just that it leads me into the other thing that drove us up a wall. The room was not real big yet they crammed so much stuff in there you had little to no room to move around. If you suffer from claustrophobia Heaven help ya here.

The short of it is, this was the worst hotel experience my family has had in our lives. If you want to know the details, read on. I booked this room weeks in advance and prepaid for it through an online booking service. The service I used showed me the hotel only after I paid for it. I looked it up after I booked it and saw some zero-star reviews with some three-star reviews as well. I thought there must be some picky travelers going there and shrugged it off. Not that I could have changed anything, but I wish I could have. When we arrived 30 minutes after the check in time, there were two gentlemen checking in ahead of us. It took the new clerk 15 minutes to get to us as she was rather slow. We checked in and got our room keys and went to the room she assigned us to settle in. Though the room had been cleaned by a maid, it still had all the personal belongings of the occupants. We went back to the front desk and waited again for her to check in another couple. Half an hour after we arrived we were told they were overbooked and had no room for us. I said, «OK, then if you would refund my payment, I would go somewhere else.» I was told, «we require 24-hours’ notice to make a refund.» I was flabbergasted and said, «But I’m not the one cancelling, you guys are. Either give me a room or give me my money!» She called the manager and said there were three rooms he had reserved for himself. I had booked two beds for me, my wife and our two girls, so the clerk offered us a smoking room with two beds. We asked if there was a non-smoking room available and she said there was one with a single king bed. I asked if it would be possible to have that room with a cot for the girls and she said it was. We moved our things to it and left my wife there to have some time to herself while I took the girls to Valleyfair for the evening. An hour and a half later, my wife was frantically trying to contact me to tell me that they were kicking her out. A different employee knocked on her door and said, «This isn’t your room. You need to leave now.» She was told that someone else was waiting for the room and my wife was breaking the law. I left the amusement park with my girls, drove back to the hotel and found my wife sitting outside the front door with all our things. This was surreal. None of us could believe this was happening. Four days later, I still can’t. To Hotwire’s credit they arranged for a full refund, helped me book another room a few miles away and gave me a $ 50 credit for a future stay. They were very helpful and acted in good faith. I’m sure the other hotels in Shakopee are wonderful establishments, but I will never stay in that city again; not if there is any chance it would be at the Super 8. Their treatment of us was inexcusable. I cannot say whether I am more angry or amazed.
