Ate here for Easter and it was not good! First we had reservations for 12:30 and finally got a table shortly before 2pm.(don’t take reservations if you can’t accommodate) The food was not good, very little left for desserts, and on the ice cream bar, they had rainbow sherbet. When I asked staff for vanilla, she stated that, they went through 4 of these tubs(looked very tacky) and I suggested that you should of bought 5! Country store is how close? Went to a wedding last weekend and again, was very disappointed. The bartenders didn’t smile at all! Old fashions not good and you had to ask for cherries or olives. The food was not hot and the stuffing has a nutmeg or weird flavor, mash potatoes –fake:(chicken was ok. very little meat in beef tips, mostly mushrooms. But when it came to dessert the waitress stood at the end of the very long table and passed the red velet cake down like an assembly line, what’s up with that???

My wife and I have designated some restaurants as what we call«Ball peen hammer restaurants» The meaning behind a «ball peen hammer restaurant» is that if we ever suggest going there, you should be hit between the eyes with a ball peen hammer. The Gathering is one of our«ball peen hammer restaurants». I will never right a bad review off of just one experience. I will almost always give the place a second or even third chance. We gave The Gathering two chances for brunch. Both times my wife and I went by ourselves and were seated at a round table designed for six or more people. It’s very awkward for two people to have a comfortable meal at such a big table. Both times we went for the brunch buffet were early in their service time. Both times the food was cold, dried out and sometimes rubbery. I took what I thought was a pork dish from the buffet, to later learn that it was a fish dish. Unfortunately The Gathering is the largest banquet hall in town, so many weddings are held there. The last one I went to there, I was on the first table served, and my dish was cold. I’m not sure how they can serve cold food. There was also a large time delay between the first and last people served. If I’m going there for a wedding, I usually try to eat somewhere else first.
