North River Campground

The worst camping experience we’ve ever had with the customer service. The campgrounds itself is beautiful, and very helpful employees when your booking, but ridiculous addons to part for when you get there. Plus they told me two different prices for the cabins on the phone, cabin didn’t have linens, campsites don’t have fire rings, if you want anything you have to pay for it. I had family here from out of state and camped with about 20 other friends. We will not be coming back.

Awesome, clean and quiet campground in a secluded spot. Full hookups with cable and even WiFi. True mom and pop style business. Everyone is happy to have you as their guests. Small swimming pool and a 5 acre stocked fishing pond too. Pet friendly but all dogs must be leashed. There is a camp store with Hunt Brothers pizza and snacks as well.
Only drawback is it is several miles from the nearest store and about 25 minutes from a grocery store so come prepared.
There are a few full time campers living here so there is always someone to watch over your place if you leave. Lots of historical sites within an hour drive, including the Outer Banks.
The rates are very reasonable. We camp in our fifth wheel, but have had friends stay in one of the cabins. It was very clean. Not sure if they provide linens for cabins. They also have fire rings at no cost if you buy a bundle of wood from them.
We have camped here dozens of times as its not too far from home. Never had a bad experience.
