Such a great inn… very close to beautiful hiking and the Delaware Water Gap. Within walking distance of a very yummy sandwich shop/café as well as a family style American fare restaurant/bar. Breakfast was served by Cindy each morning and BOY can she cook! We were SO comfortable here. Such a relaxing weekend spent jogging, hiking, kayaking, eating, imbibing and enjoying the charm and serenity of The Gatehouse! Cindy and Gordon are fun-loving, genuine and kind people that do an incredible job of hosting at their inn… we were greeted warmly and certainly left happy! Start to finish a great experience.

These are the nicest people you will ever stay with. My boyfriend and I honestly wish that we could have them as our parents. Cindy’s cooking is fantastic; her delicious egg tarts hit the spot before our trip to the mountain. While there aren’t televisions in every room, it was very nice to escape the technology chaos. Their game room is fantastic, and we played trivial pursuit all night laughing and talking. I felt more at home than at my own mother’s house. They are full service! Gordon even filled our tire with air. This type of wonderful family is few and far between. And their array of antiques is astonishing, everything can be found throughout the establishment. They have everything from Tiffany and Aladdin lamps to authentic cut glass. We were so amazed by their generosity. Please, give it a try you won’t be let down.

Nice accommodations. This was the first time I ever stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, but I figured we’d give it a shot. We were skiing at Shawnee Mountain and Shawnee Inn had no availability, and hotels in the area had a variety of prices from really cheap(and apparently dirty according to reviews, to really expensive). Our room at the Gatehouse Country Inn Bed and Breakfast cost $ 180 after taxes and included breakfast, hence, Bed and Breakfast. The room was pretty large and we had our own private bathroom. There is also a game room with a pool table and various board games. There is a large common room with couches and arm chairs and tables where the breakfast was served(which was very good). Cindy, the owner, sells antiques, as well, which she keeps in the old ice house in the courtyard. Her husband Gordon mentioned that they have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast in the US, which I found funny since they own one. They were very friendly and hospitable and made such a great first impression for us into the Bed and Breakfast world that I would definitely try one again.
