3 and 2 is a wonderful ANDVERYCLEAN complex for those a lot younger than me to learn to play baseball and softball. It offers a number of fields beginning with the small ones for those starting out up to larger regulation size fields for those who are older, have honed their skills and become more competitive. I wrote«very clean» in all caps up above and I mean it. The facility provides about sixteen playing fields as well as concessions, restrooms and the whole bit and there wasn’t any trash anywhere. The bathrooms were well kept and the fields and bleachers were spotless. There is a $ 5 for adults, a little less for kids, entry fee, but with how everything is taken care of, it is well worth the small price to pay. This is a fairly large complex and thankfully the grounds have a website with a great big map that is a big help. Not only does it show the field layouts, but it shows the best areas to park and enter, which on a busy day when you’re running late, is nice to have. Your kids will love playing here and I have a feeling that you’ll love watching them play here.

My son has been playing rec baseball at 3&2 since 9th grade. Blue Valley Rec doesn’t offer leagues for boys after 8th grade. This complex is for fields 10 – 27 and it has two entrances. Be sure to check the website to figure out which entrance to use so you don’t walk forever. The fields and grounds are maintained well and the bathrooms are clean. The snack bars have a good, inexpensive selection and the personnel are knowledgeable and friendly. Occasionally, the far west parking lot is full, but this rarely happens. This is a great complex!

This is the West Complex of the massive 3&2 baseball club, which houses fields 10 – 27.(If you’re scheduled on field 1 through 9, look for the 3&2 listing in Lenexa.) The fields here are well-maintained, all lit, and a dizzying array of sizes: tiny diamonds for the kindergarten kids(I call those the miniature-golf fields,) 150ft fences for the grade-school machine pitch games, 200-something fences on the softball diamonds, and so forth, up to regulation diamonds and 400ft fences used for high school tourneys and Federal League play. There are no adult leagues, but the 3&2 website has a ton of information about competitive & non-competitive leagues for kids of all ages, and they’ve all been professionally run & reasonably priced in my experience. They are also well-staffed, with plenty of supervisors circulating among the games, which helps keep things under control. They take sportsmanship seriously — I’ve seen them escort a parent off the grounds more than once for a serious infraction such as threatening an umpire(or, heaven keep us from ugly sports parents, once even for fisticuffs with the opposing coach.) There are other baseball & softball clubs in Johnson County, but this is one of the best-run ones… you can’t go wrong signing your kid up to play ball here.
