Border Wars

Wow, waited forever… then they were out of bottled beer for my order (domestic common brand)…then waited forever for apetizers (about 45 minutes) then again long wait for the bill… awful service, I mean its worth going just to make you appreciate every other bar more in the future.

As happens so often, the overall rating can drop quickly.
There is one waitress/​bartender that makes a great margarita. The ONE I had when she wasn’t there was the WORST one I’ve ever had.
My food last time was poor; I tasted someone else’s fries and they were delicious. The batch I received was horrible. I think that they were reheated/​re-​fried french fries.
Wonder why the bar might be empty? Other than the food and drinks of recent, it’s a sports bar, and in the middle of college/​Big 12 basketball season, with no less than 3 big games being broadcast… the TVs were set to the ‘music channel’…not videos, just music from the TV station. When the jukebox is on, it’s so loud you have to scream across the table to be heard.

I use to go here when it was kites, It was my favorite place to go. I’ve been to border wars since they opened but will never return. The food is bland and boring. Our food took forever to get because apparently the cook had to run to Walmart to get more chicken wings.
We went to watch the kstate game and they changed the tv we were watching to the ‘new4u’ channel 1 station in the middle of the game. We had to repeatedly ask them to change it back.
If you do decide to go look very closely for the sign, the black on blue color scheme makes the sign impossible to read.

We went to Border Wars after going out to eat on a Friday night. It wasn’t very busy at all, which was nice since we wanted a table in the back. They played fun music to dance to, but the service was horrible. We didn’t have a waitress that came by our table once. We went to the bar to order, the bartender wasn’t anywhere to be seen. Two waitresses were walking around and saw us standing there, but didn’t give us a second glance. We waited about 5 min, then the bartender came back from outside where she had taken a smoke break. She proceeded to start to clean up and wash glasses. Finally she came over to us and we got our beers. We were very annoyed.
I do not plan on going back, which is too bad since it’s so close to our house.
