Not that great, went there so my granddaughter would have fun seeing the train delivering the food to the tables. Seating was not comfortable for a bigger person. The food was far from great, our onion rings were cold and greasy, I think if they had been hot they probably would have been pretty good but that wasn’t the case. I had a tenderloin again it was warm like it had been sitting for a bit and was far from great as well. The service was not good either, when they brought the drinks they only brought half of them and upon their return they still did not bring my drink. As far as I’m concerned this was a one time deal for me. I know from the food and service I will never return.

This is a restaurant for children and the children love it! I’m not rating this place based on their food, I’m rating it based on what it is: a diner with a fun theme that caters to families. For that, they are fantastic. I’ve been to the Crown Center one before, but the cramped space with no windows and long lines isn’t my idea of a great time. I hit up this one with my young son(3 months old), my husband, and a couple out of town guests on a Friday night around 5:30. We got right in and sat at a booth(only booths here). We ordered from the phone and everything came out super fast! Our shakes(quite tasty actually) came out within a few minutes and our food wasn’t long after that. My husband and I had burgers and fries and our guests had grilled chicken sandwiches. The food was typical diner fair. It was decent and it was exactly what I was expecting. I will say that it was a really nice surprise that they had the option to add an egg to the burgers. The main attraction is obviously the food delivery system. All of the kids, my baby included, would stare every time it would come around. They also have an inner train near the ceiling that constantly goes around(not a food delivery one, just a little electric train). My son’s gaze would follow it each time. It’s a place where you can bring young children and they will be welcome and the other guests will not be upset about it. It’s also a place that will(hopefully) hold these kids interests for the quick meal. As for price, it was $ 40 for three adults to all get milkshakes, sandwiches and fries. Not bad at all. I will be back and will be bringing my son again!

If you want a typical juicy hamburger, fries, shake or chili this is the place for you. Did I mention the train? Yes! Kids absolutely love this method of delivery! Also you pick up the phone at each table and«phone-in» your order! Our grandkids and little niece and nephew love it! Kids also get a little conductor hat which is lots of fun for them! Unique place and worth a trip to try it out!

This was my first visit to this location. First impression was, at the very least, average. I was greeted and seated right away. When I was ordering, the female’s tone seemed unhappy but the process went smoothly. My order arrived in a relatively descent amount of time and was correct. My sandwich was very good, however, my side order of onion rings was below average. They did not seem fresh and we’re slightly oily but not unedible. I will certainly return in hopes of a slightly better experience because they do have a good product based on this and previous visits to the original location in KCKS.

We went there on 11÷4÷2015. Definitely designed for the kids or train fanatic. We were promptly greeted and taken to our table and it was explained how we place our order. We ordered our food and then our drinks and plates were brought out. The plates gave it a step above fast food. Then the train delivered our food. The food was hot and freshly prepared. We did not have anyone visit our table to offer drink refills or clear the table. Overall very good but a little pricey. Will definitely visit again.

Service for this place was really odd. We were not given complimentary waters, you had to order them. Waiters bring out your beverages and plates, and that’s it for service. Having overhead trains deliver your food was fun, and that’s what stands out at this place. Burgers were juicy, and they had many menu items to choose from. Shakes are also creamy and thick. We got a side of frings, which is half fries and half onion rings – unfortunately, there only two onion rings. Payment is done at the counter at the front.

Hamburgers, fries and onion rings are delicious. They now have some great happy hour deals at lunch time. Half price burgers included. Service is great and kids love the toy trains that deliver the food to your table.

Cheap breakfast joint. Had two different breakfast sandwiches, both where good for the money. Its odd they have a drive-through, especially when they make fresh food. My breakfast sandwiches collected five waiting cars built up behind me over the ten minutes it took for them to get me my order. I’d suggest not using the drive-through, I only ordered two sandwiches and held the line up, I’d imagine it’s twice as long for a soccer mom. Came back later for lunch, called my order in for the expedient take-out this time. Got two burgers that felt like I was eating the very definition of an American icon.

My six year old son absolutely loved this place. And honestly, that’s what this place is all about… the kids! The burgers are small so make sure you get a twin. I got a Gen Dare twin, but I should have added an egg to it. Stay away from the pork tenderloin sandwich, it’s pretty dry. The milkshakes are great. Fritz’s has gained a few new regulars since my son will make sure we come back every time he’s with us in KC, but that’s ok… it really is a pretty cool spot for kids.

This place is in my blood so I still love it for the memories. Newbies should visit the place, inside with the kids, and try the unique sandwiches! From Keely to Kitchen Sink there are several good choices. Onion rings are batter dipped, so crunchy and tasty. Milk shakes are great during the summer. And your kid walks out with a train engineer’s hat.

My family and I are finishing eating here. We ordered chicken nugget kids meal for my daughter and as I tire them apart so she could have small bites I found a metal shaving in the nugget. The trains are fun for the kids but the food is bottom tier. I realize the restaurant doesn’t manufacture the nuggets, but they do have responsibilities for serving it. No more for my family.

Awesome train food delivery system affixed to the ceiling. Clever. Even phones at the table to call your waiter/waitress.(Aspiring waiters/waitresses with social phobias need not worry, this would be your niche.) ‘Twas a lazy man who devised this concept, but a man who understood imagination and enthusiasm of children. Food was decent – closest comparison would be Winsteads. They even have a train machine in the front door that the kiddo likes to ride on.

Great place for the kiddos and kiddos at heart. Expensive too. For my senior parents and I and two under age 5 it was $ 40(with only two drinks ordered.) I had a migraine when I left. The burgers were OK. But there were lots of different burgers to choose from. It’s neat to see though! I like the original in KCK better than this one, however. It gets loud during busy times, so if you are sensitive to loud noises, go during off peak times.

No frills, good burgers!!! Great for familys and kids. Greasy hamburger smell inside, but it’s worth it!!! Cheap and fast!!!

If you have a kid that loves trains(or if you are a kid who loves trains), this place is great! The hamburger tastes like the«old fashioned» burger you secretly love. It has good flavor and affordable price. This is a great place to eat with a fun atmosphere. Five stars for family fun and reasonable price.

Meh. Ultimately not worth the trip. They do the theme part well enough, but the kitchen… although not actually bad, let’s just say that for a place that specializes in hamburgers and french fries I bet they have never peeled a potato or cut up a piece of meat. On the burger and fry front, they have a lot to learn from McDonald’s, and Wendy’s just beats them hands down. Most everything is ready made(even the apple juice came in an airline-style single serve plastic cup sealed with foil). My grilled turkey sandwich was assembled and grilled to order but was ultimately uninteresting — someone just took the turkey out of a package in the fridge. The staff is friendly and helpful — it must be said — but they can’t make up for a flawed concept. Get a real kitchen, then call me back.

Fritz’s is a fun environment with the train theme and the trains that literally drop off your food at your table. If you have children I think this is a good place to visit at least once. The food is not very good at all and the prices are too high for what you get.

I have a two-year-old. He loves trains. So, when we’re in the area going to the JoCo Museum, this is a good option. We’ve been to this location a couple of times now. It’s laid out a little different from the one in Crown Center. It feels a bit more spread out, but the service is still what you’d expect. I ordered a burger and my little guy got the grilled cheese. He ate most of his sandwich and mine was okay. Their burgers just taste greasy. It’s worth it though because my little guy loves watching the trains ride around delivering food and we can both eat for around $ 10. Well worth it for the smile on his face. Maybe next time, I’ll just steer away from having a burger.

This place is a MUST for the family. Nothing else like it around. Great burgers and shakes. If you love trains you can’t miss this place!!! What I love about Fritz’s is the atmosphere and how the place works. I have yet to find another place in the metro like it. It’s decked out like a 50s style diner, but with trains everywhere. You sit at your table with your menus and when you’re ready to order, you pick up a phone at your table(which rings the kitchen) and place your order. A short time later your food is delivered to your table via an overhead train that unloads the foot onto a platform that then lowers to your table. The menu is full of delicious diner style food items and the kids get cardboard train engineer hats. This place is honestly a must for any family that has a train lover in them.

For the likes of Yours, Truly, who is more prone to enjoying a Sunday brunch in decadent environs(or, at least a patio), clad in black cashmere(or cotton), avec pair of large sunglasses to block out the cruel daylight, firmly grasping a bloody mary and looking forward to a plate of some kind of sublime brunch fare, perhaps something with truffles and capers even, you might think Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant would be my worst nightmare. And truly, it sort of is. But…I know some pretty fabulous children and I understand that even the best of them are probably going to far appreciate Fritz’s to, say, Westport Café, for Sunday morning(the horror!) dining. Sigh. That’s OK. I’ll have you know I used to beg my folks to take me to Showbiz Pizza(which I still insist is far superior to Chuck E. Cheese, but I digress). And all children have to start somewhere in the journey of eating out in restaurants. Why not in a place where a train charmingly drops a basket of food off onto your table(major minus stars for all that disposable plastic ware, btw). «Carol Ann, I have asked you to keep the children quiet today! Get them out of the garden! Have Tina bring me up my coffee.»
