Absolute worst customer service of any Jo-Ann’s I have visited. Had to explain to clerk in fabric section that Sunbrella was a brand of outdoor fabric(which they carry). Had to hunt for an employee in the nearly vacant store to help us. Asked for a swatch from a roll that already had a 2“x2″ notch cut out of it and got lectured about how whichever employee did that should not have done it. Then she promptly cut the rest of that strip off, threw it away, and then cut off another 2″ strip to sell it to us!!! Now she gets to throw away another strip of fabric and Hancock will get my upholstery business.

We do not care for Hobby Lobby and we use JoAnn and Michael’s mostly for framing and pictures, however, we do shop at JoAnn for other craft items. I get regular e-mails from them and I do not find them to be and«pricier» than other places but that could just be me. They have nice stores, nice selections and quite helpful staff.

Nice selection in all areas. My only complaint is the fabric cutting area. They have the staff and space to help the long line of customers but instead it takes FOREVER. One person helping a line of 20 people EVERYTIME I go in. Yet there are employees doing nothing. I mean nothing!

I feel I must defend JoAnn against the wrath of others who are saying that it is «pricey.» Really it’s not. It’s competitive and much less expensive than specialty quilting and yarn stores in the area, with a much wider selection. When you use coupons on your phone or from a circular they are even better! They have also added more yarn recently so that is a plus too!

JoAnn’s is fine if you need a litte more selection that one isle in a department store, but they’re pretty pricey. Sure, there’s a deal here or there and be sure to sign up for the e-coupon before you take a step in the door. I go hre when there is a specific thing I need and I always find it, but I have to brace myself for the price.

Better selection of fabric & craft supplies, and much friendlier help, than some other craft stores in the area(I’m looking at you, Hobby Lobby.) They’re a bit on the pricey side, but run frequent sales, which really helps if you can plan your project around a 50% markdown. You can sign up to receive their fliers in the mail, but they have a very draconian opt-in policy which means you have to actually bring in the stupid flier & have them scan it in order to keep receiving it. It’s the one policy I really hate about their customer service, but the associates(at the cutting table & elsewhere) are helpful & knowledgeable. For that alone, they’re my go-to fabric store.
