Penny Droppers Saloon

Gotta say we had low expectations for some reason. Maybe the idea of a good local bar in Shawnee with cheap drinks was too good to be true. But it isn’t. It’s clean, seemingly safe, and has cheap beer. Staff was terrific as well. We will be back.

Neighborhood bar (I’d say dive bar, but that would be the one around the corner…) in Shawnee; Maggie is a sweetheart, and it looks like the business is doing well. They have free poker a few days a week (cash prize!). Rachel is a fun bartender and always makes me smile just by her friendly personality! Decent drink and food prices, generous portions. There is a pool table, jukebox, several tables, and video game (some people call them ‘crack’) machines.
The name is supposedly in reference to the ‘penny’ floor. I’m not a fan of that, personally; I guess the concept was fine, but the process maybe didn’t work out. However, the name seems to ‘sound’ like something else and I would imagine that it is supposed to.
In reference to another review on this place: I haven’t personally seen anything ‘racist’ while here, and do see people of different races of here all the time.

If I could rate it 10 stars I would. I heard about this place awhile ago but finally checked it out last night for the first time. I LOVE THIS PLACE! I would say that the floor (made completely out of pennies) was the coolest part of this bar. but then I met the owner Alan. SOOO friendly, funny, and just an all around good dude. Good drink specials, nice back patio, and the service was GREAT. Plus Tylor works there and he isn’t to bad to look at. Haha. OH. and don’t let Alan fool you. He tried to tell me there was only one penny that was heads up in the girls restroom… but I proved him wrong! I easily found 5. I bet there is more! But for real. Check this place out :)

I LOVE this joint. I stopped by during Shawnee Days, and the people working were really, REALLY friendly. There is not an extensive menu, but it is delicious. And since I had never eaten there before, they were really great about helping me through the menu. I had the Robert E Lee sandwich. I had it with the mild sauce, instead of the regular.
The atmosphere is great. The inside is decorated really nice, with updated furniture, the floor is so neat, and goes along with the theme. But it’s definitely welcoming and inviting. There is a pool table in the back, and a couple of TVs. Nice place to stop by for a drink and eat. GO THERE!

A good locals hang out, typical bar food of hamburger and chicken sandwiches. The boy and I had the burgers, they are hand made and were cooked just right juicy and full of flavor, fries cooked to a crisp. Cold beer and very nice service
