Scissortail Skydiving

My husband took me out to do a skydive for my birthday and we ended up canceling and using a different company. We went out at our appointment time and at 1^st didn’t know where to go at the airport because there was no signs posted for skydiving. Once the people in the airport told us where to go we walked over to the business for our appointment. The owner who was the only instructor there that day told us we couldn’t go up together because he was the only instructor & he could only take us up one at a time. He however didn’t tell us that over the phone. We wanted to go up together but decided whatever if there’s only one instructor there isn’t much we can do. So he took us into his classroom & gave us a short class on what we would have to do on the jump. My husband went 1^st and thank god he landed ok. He came up to me & said when he was close to the guy he could smell alcohol on his breath. I said I didn’t want to go with him if he smelled of alcohol. We confronted him about it and he apologized saying the smell was probably just still on his breath from the night before. We said he could keep the money from my husband’s jump but we wanted a refund for mine since I hadn’t gone and didn’t feel comfortable going with him. He responded with we don’t give refunds. After arguing a few minutes we threw our hands in the air and left. We contacted the oklahoma skydiving center in Cushing and scheduled an appointment with them. Not only did they have enough staff to take us up together but after telling them about our experience with scissortail they gave us a discount. Would definitely not recommend this company

An amazing experience with reputable, experience, instructors. This is close to home and the price is very reasonable. This is an empowering and overwhelming experience that you will not regret. I will be talking about this for years and glad that I didn’t let fear stand in my way of witnessing this first hand. From the 2 mile high veiw of Shawnee from the plane, to the mind numbing free fall, to gliding over town guiding ur own parachute, begining to end and awesome, adrenaline filled, overwhelming experience. The instructors were awesome and confident, they made us feel very comfortable. I recommend scissortail skydiving in Shawnee to anyone
