I used these movers a year ago and had a good experience, so I wanted to use them again. I called and called and couldn’t get anyone, so I booked someone else. Then they called back, matched the other movers price and so I went with them only to have no one show up on Monday morning for my move. I called several times and the person at the main company said the manager was supposed to deal with this problem. Eventually got the«manager» in Madison to call me back. I spoke with him several times during the day during which he said that he didn’t know what was happening, the guys scheduled to help me move were«normally» reliable and just didn’t show. He kept telling me how he is only 21 and only has a few people in Madison and the managers expect him to deal with everything. He said he would come, but didn’t have transportation. The company’s management approach is not my problem. He should not have been telling me all this as an excuse so that I would somehow be ok with the fact I was now stuck trying to load a truck with no hired help. Moreover, the company should have paid for a cab to bring him over to work if transportation was the only issue. It was very clear that taking the necessary steps to fix the problem was not a priority. After we got a friend to help us load the truck and we left 5 hours late, which of course meant we had to spend an extra night on the road and pay for a hotel, I called and asked the manager to have the owner call me. I also left a message at the main number asking for someone to call me back, still nothing. I am beyond disappointed and extremely angry that this company went to a lot of trouble to get my business and then did not care at all that they ruined my move and forced me to spend extra money in order to move. I would never recommend them to anyway. Not showing up is unacceptable, but the way they handled the no show suggests they have no interest in being a reputable business. Update: After writing this review and sending a letter to Brooks movers, I finally got a response. The management said they had not received my messages and that they had new staff in Madison. While this did not fix the moving experience I had, it at least showed some effort on their part. Perhaps the problem was with the staff in Madison at that.
