Dollar General

I had never been in a Dollar General before, and was driving down Route 7, so since you only live once… I was suddenly in the DG parking lot.
This location just opened a week or so ago, and still has that great, «new store smell». I suppose the first thing to note for anyone else who has never been to a Dollar General is that unlike Dollar Tree, it’s not all for a dollar (they do, however, have some items that are, like the greeting cards and crossword puzzle books, Valentine’s Day things, etc).
BIG selection of grocery items on the right when you walk in with prices that I would put on par with Target, and where I found the deals to REALLY be had in this store were in the beauty aisle. Ladies (and guys who care about these things, and good for you if you do) will love that the prices are better than at CVS, there were great deals on Colgate (including the Optic White, not just plain olé’ Colgate) and Covergirl and Maybelline products ($ 4.79 for mascara which is about $ 2.00 more at CVS).
Lots of friendly employees, carts and baskets right at the door; I don’t know if all DG stores are like this, but I hope this one does well!
