I bring the kids here, but I have to admit, I’m in love with their«Big Mac» pizza. Pickles and special sauce on a pizza? Oh hell yes. It’s best to visit here during busier times — that way there will be a more constant rotation of pizzas(fresher) and a bigger selection. Came here once on a Monday at 4pm to find a few sad ½ pizzas that had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. Yuck. They will make your favorite pizza fresh if you request it, which is nice. Decent salad and pasta bar, too. Limited selection of alcoholic beverages. Great place to bring the kids that isn’t obnoxious like Chuck E Cheese(and with better food!)

Very creative atmosphere and AWESOME staff. The food was good, not great. It was exactly what I had expected and I was perfectly OK with that. It’s definitely worth the price!

Great selection of pizzas. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you want a fresh special request pizza… it is ready in 15 minutes. You can request deep dish, thick or thin crust. As with any buffet style pizza… your not always going to have the hottest fresh pizza when you first walk in but there will be a good selection ready if you don’t have time to wait. American pie does a great job. Very clean place.

Rarely will a pizza joint ever receive less than four stars from me. However I have dined here at least 15 times, and each meal has seen no improvement from the previous. My husband & I enjoy the quality of American Pie’s pizza, breadsticks & dessert… when fresh. But each time we eat here, more than 75% of the pizzas have been sitting out. They will generally make a new pizza /breadstick plate /dessert pizza once per hour. I have noticed this during busy times, and slow times. They offer a salad bar, pasta & chicken noodle soup, but the lettuce does not taste fresh. The atmosphere is fun, incorporating American pop culture of movies & music. Beer, wine & liquor served here as well. They offer an amazing spread of original pizzas — macaroni & cheese, big mac, chili fries, Brooklyn pesto — yes, these are all pizzas! American Pie is a great spot for kids parties — they offer a private party room in the back, & they have an arcade game room. I also REALLY dislike the fact that my buffet price includes a soft drink beverage. I do not drink pop & would prefer to omit this from my order so I could get an ice water. Great idea to stop in for a cheat meal if you’re looking for high-caloric pizza…

Pizza is great. Way better than CiCi’s! Its always fresh, and when its not-ask! They make it fresh for you! Lots of yummy salad toppings and pasta choices. Its $ 9.00/ person which is very pricey but the customer service is AMAZING. Everyone is EXTREMELY nice. Large place, good for hanging out.

Eh… Ehhh…I think if you have kids, and you want something less outrageous or crazy than a Chuck E Cheese’s this place may suit your fancy. I tried a couple of bites, of several different pizza’s a none of them were like WOW, get me some more of that! They seemed a little cold, and old. I did see a couple of fresh ones come out, but they were things I had already tried. I was with my sibs and nieces and nephew, so it was right up their alley. I didn’t try the salad bar, but it looked great. I also didn’t try any of the breadsticks, dessert pizza’s or pasta bar. They didn’t look anything too special… a total family joint for sure… by the time we were done and leaving the place was loaded with families and those buggy teenagers who have nothing else to do on a Friday night! ;-) Definitely a carb loading kinda place… Damn! I needed a breadalizer test before I drove home…

I took my three sons and my nephew here for Valentine’s Day :-) The pizza was really good — I was impressed by the variety of pizza they offered such as Big Mac, Chicken Hani, and Chili Cheese Fries. My nephew said it taste way better than CiCi’s pizza and I would have to agree(except for the mac & cheese pizza). I was also impressed with the salad bar and the Flatbread pizzas(For those who are trying to diet ;-) Overall great place to take the kids!

Nice place for a variety if pizza types, love the salad bar. I prefer the 12 mile/hoover location because this one plays the music way too loud. You can’t have a conversation. Not enjoyable.

Overall the pizza was good although a bit cold. They had a good selection and the breadsticks were great. The kids were disappointed on loosing money on games that don’t work. They need to test all the games daily. My biggest complaint was they cleared the table including our drinks when we went to the game room. I guess they are in a hurry for people to leave.

I was babysitting my niece and nephew so i decided to take them here and we had a blast. We played Video games ate good food, and drinks, listened to music and enjoyed an entertaining atmosphere. If i was having a kids party American pie would be an awesome place to host it. This restaurant is clean and the employees are very helpful. I met the owner and he is very nice as well. If you are in the area, stop by and grab some food at America Pie Pizza Buffet.

Yet another pizza buffet place which is VERY similar to «CiCi’s». The basic layout is the same, but this place has a MUCHMORE entertaining atmosphere to it. There are superheroes all over the place, along with pictures of various celebrities and such. It does add a bit to the overall ambiance… but why do people come to a place like this… FORTHEPIZZA. The pizza is good(and certainly a bit better than what CiCi’s offers), but like another reviewer had said, when compared to the regular pizza chains that are all over the Metro Detroit area, the pizza’s about average. The price is ABOUT the same as what you would pay at CiCi’s(or Stevi B’s pizza buffet), but I did notice a few little extras that this place offered that made the difference for me. One difference was… they had soup! I don’t know if they have the same kind every time, or switch them out occasionally, but just offering soup was a nice addition. Then… they also had baked potatoes(with a toppings station) for you. It kind of reminded me of years ago when«Wendy’s» first started offering baked potatoes with various toppings on them. That was also a nice little extra. And… I noticed that they had an ice cream cooler. While the various choices of ice cream(things that you might buy from the local ice cream truck going through your neighborhood) weren’t included in the buffet, it still was nice to at least offer that stuff if you wanted it. Overall, I liked this place and will probably go again sometime(even though I don’t live nearby). If you’re a family who usually heads over to CiCi’s by Lakeside(which is now closed, by the way) when thinking about getting pizza, give THIS place a try sometime… It think you’ll find it better, too…

I agree with the prior reviewer in one respect: this is a great place for families. Is every pizza top-notch every time? No. But there is a lot of variety, and some very tasty choices. Our family of three gets to eat for $ 16. The pop-culture theme is fun, and the place is packed with kids. And the manager made some plain pasta especially for my girl, which is great service. For what it is – a neighborhood pizza buffet – it’s a pretty good one.

To be fair I’m not a big fan of buffets. I think the college cafeteria ruined me for buffets of any kind. But when my adorable 6-year-old nephew makes a request, I honor it. And I can completely see how this place is kid friendly. For about $ 6-$ 8 it’s all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta and salad in a setting as lively as can be. Lukas was all about the traditional — cheese, pepperoni, cheese sticks. And when he discovered the marinara sauce on the pasta station worked for dipping, well, it added a whole other dimension. They also have more experimental varieties –cheeseburger, Greek, Vegetarian and over a dozen more. But the toppings weren’t exactly fresh(frozen spinach anyone?) and most of the pizzas came out sans sauce. I’m a bit of a pizza snob so I’m gonna stick to the places I love best. But American Pie seems to be a hit for families.
