This was my first real visit here. My family tried to eat here within the last two months but it was extremely packed and with two small kids, we couldn’t wait. Tonight it was empty by comparison with no wait to be seated. Our server was very nice and attentive. I ordered the lemon oregano chicken kabobs with extra sauce. It’s definitely worth a return trip. The chicken lemon rice was just ok. I tried my husband’s house salad with the fattoush dressing(they said it came with ranch) just to try their dressing. It was tasty and very fresh. My husband got the chicken shawarma. It was good but we both like it better from Lebanese Grill which is very close by. He said the sauce on my chicken was the best he’s had.

In all honesty I have yet to try this restaurant. I’ve been to Detroit twice for big events and haven’t had a chance to stop by like a million people suggested to try the chicken cream chop and other bomb food. The reason I’m giving a five star review for a restaurant I haven’t even tried is because the service there is like you’re family. Chris the owner has been taking good care of my girl who is from Sterling Heights for years every time she goes. Her and her entire family get the royal treatment. This last time this passed weekend we were in Detroit and Chris sent my girl back to California with a tightly wrapped BOX of torshi beets which are her favorite. She barely let’s me get close to them she’s scared I’ll eat em all. Also a wrapped bottle full of the famous ranch dressing she also loves dearly. I just want to say thank you to Chris for always taking good care of them. Having a taste of home from the east side while she’s all the way on the west coast is priceless and I can’t tell you how much we appreciate the kind gesture. I can’t wait to order two plates of chicken cream chop next time we’re there!

I love this Sahara. I’ve held two events here, my engagement party and my daughter’s baptism. My engagement party was in April of 2012 and my daughter’s baptism, literally 4 years later, in April 2016. Both were handled professionally with an accommodating staff and great management. The food was prepared as requested and tasted delicious. The tables were set up for us that made it easy to mingle with the entire party. We had a great time and our guests did too. We’ve also come here on several occasions for dinner in between these two events. We love the fresh bread, hummus, and tabbouli. I’ve enjoyed the chicken tikka sandwich and also the chicken cream chop. Their baked fish is also great during Lent. My only reservation is that their portions are a bit smaller than other Middle Eastern restaurants. Overall, the service is great, the food is delicious, and I love supporting family-owned and operated businesses. This place is worth a try!

I have been coming to this Sahara location for years. The food and service are great. I typically order take out and the portions are a good size. The employee are always accommodating and asking if I have been helped. I food tastes great and always fresh. If you have never dines here you must try the signature ranch dressing. It’s not your ordinary ranch. In fact they even sell it bottled. I am giving Sahara 4⁄5 because the last time I ordered a party tray for 5 I was very disappointed. The portion was so small and left my guest not full. If you find yourself craving meddle eastern food on Hall Rd try Sahara.

This was honestly one of the most wonderful meals I have had in a long time. The lentil soup was one of the most flavorful dishes I have ever had. The falafel was perfectly seasoned, the pita was hot and fresh, and the dolmades were FANTASTIC. I came from metro Atlanta to visit family, and was NOT expecting such a fabulous dining experience. You DEF want to go here!

Burnt Beef Stir-fry, carry out, called management and no help. This is the second time in three months, we will never return here again. The dish is $ 20.00, not an amount we will forget about.

This is the second time I have been here both times I ordered online. I have been looking for a new place that has a awesome chicken schwarma sandwich by far it has been the best. Another must is the garlic sauce so amazing. I picked up our order and the staff was awesome and very funny. I will say I was not going to come at first due to the very rude manager claiming to be the owner that was fired.(FB review) So now that he is gone. put Sahara at the top of your list for Mediterranean food you will not regret it. Plus if you buy a $ 25 gift card you get $ 5 free awesome deal. Great Christmas gifts!!!

I love the ambiance of this place and the food provided here. They carry a great variety of Lebanese food and everything is very tasty. Not many Mediterranean restaurants have beer and liquor; however, this place carry a great variety of imported and domestic beers. I go to this place regularly and I was never disappointed by the service and food.

I feel like this place is up and coming! They serve out THEBEST pita and garlic sauce!!! I came here with my boyfriend and we split the creamy chicken chops and beef shawarma. Everything was delicious! It even came with an option of soup or salad! I also have to give an extra star for our waiter. He was attentive and when I asked for a bag to put our leftover pitas in, he added two more in the bag! Free of charge! I’ll be making sure to make frequent visits here! Thanks for the great meal Sahara!

The ambiance of this place is great. I havent been here in close to 3 years, so I wanted to try it out. 1) The fresh hot bread is really delicious with their garlic dip. 2) I was disappointed with their beer selection, no beers in tap, and the best we could do was a bottle of Sam Adams boston Lager. 3) we had the falafel sandwich, and that wasnt bad at all. it was delicious actually with a more smoky flavor than Ive had before… but this was not the best falafel ive had in southeast michigan. 4) the meat pies we had for appetizer, I didnt care for. the meat was soggy and undercooked for my liking. 5) the brouled Quail was good, but not exceptional. 6) i did love their lemon chichen rice soup which was the second favorite next to the bread!!! 7) the waiter was super nice and friendly. 8) although ive never done hukkah, they had a bar area, and hookah available. and they are open until 1am on fridays which is good if you’re younger and looking to hang out with friends. All in all, I think Sahara has changed for the better, the ambiance is really nice. I just wish that the quality of food had also increased in the past three years. I will not be trying again in the near future. but maybe a year down the road to see if the food is better.

Fantastic food in a beautiful setting! To start, awesome fresh pita breads hit the table, paired with olive oil and, later, perfect yogurt dipping sauce. Sorry, but I’m on a gluten-FULL diet and love hot, fresh-out-the-oven bread. We loved their tabouli salad & falafel appetizers… Their falafel was light and airy, fried crisp, with the perfect amount of spices. I especially enjoyed their creamy tahini sauce, which I basically dipped everything in! Their lamb chops ROCKED. They were cooked to a perfect Medium-Rare, as requested, and were super juicy with a perfect amount of char on them. They were served with this fluffy, tasty pilaf. I was very impressed with the portion size… My husband agrees, as he got to eat the delicious leftovers I brought home the next day! haha The ambiance is definitely very calming and welcoming. We were really impressed by the friendly, knowledgeable service. Our waitress kept the waters flowing and paced our meal perfectly! A little note that the bathrooms were extra sparkly clean, with lovely tiles and a sweet sink area. That’s something I tend to notice and like. All in all, it was a great dinner out with friends. *VERY jealous of the Chicken Chop with cream sauce that my friend ordered! Next time I’m ordering that!

I went back here about 2 months ago and my experience was much better! Food was fresh, service was fast and that was for a carry out. I still feel their prices are fairly high but the order was correct and everything tastes great!

My absolute favorite place everrrrrr! Been going to sahara for over 20 years! The food is always amazing. The service is great. The ambiance is on point. The ranch is out of this world! My trip to Michigan is never complete unless I stop by sahara! Chicken creamchop is my all time favorite and the chicken lemon rice soup is the bomb! I definitely recommend sahara.

Gotta update my review with a bit of a downgrade today, based on what I received. As I said before, I was going to be returning to Sahara and spending my money there, which I did today. I ordered a boilerplate standard for any Middle Eastern place: a chicken shawarma sandwich, and I had them add onions and tomatoes for me. $ 4.77 out the door for the carryout, so the price wasn’t any problem at all. What loses the star is the sandwich itself. It had what I can only describe as a very, *very* strange flavor to it. There wasn’t much garlic on there, to be sure, which was a bit of the problem, but there was more to it: the sandwich tasted like no other chicken shawarma sandwich I’ve ever eaten, and not in a very good way. It was also quite dry, but I’ve had quite dry chicken shawarma sandwiches before(I’m looking at you, Mr. Kabob, and others), and they’re usually passable. It was a very hard-to-describe flavor that was present in the sandwich that wasn’t welcome which was the issue. Now I want to be very fair, here: I am categorically *not* saying that the sandwich was«bad», or that I didn’t eat the whole thing(I did… I was just that hungry), or that it made me sick or anything. It didn’t bother my stomach or my system, so it’s not like I think that I got bad food or anything. It was just very, very strange, and based on it, I wouldn’t want to get another chicken shawarma sandwich from them. The service was very quick, and I was happy to be able to call ahead and have it ready for me upon my arrival. The flavor of that thing was just *weird*, though, and I don’t want to experience that again. Couple that with the dryness of the sandwich, and it falls into the category of «Food That Functions To Fuel The Body», which would be the same category I’d put the McChicken in. That might sound like a harsh dig, but I eat McChickens to this day… I just don’t expect very much of them, especially for $ 1. I’m surprised by this, as the chicken shawarma sandwich should be something that any Middle Eastern place can make in their sleep without any difficulty whatsoever. So «A-OK» is the correct rating for now.

The restaurant was very nice inside with modern décor. Half of this place is a restaurant where the other half is a hookah bar. They also have a full bar. The servers were great! They are pretty attentive. I have tried many appetizers, but my favorite was the garlic dip paired with pita bread. It was incredible, just the right constancy. I had a lemonade smoothie type drink. The first time was delicious. However, the second time I tried it, it was way too sour. I would probably avoid it next time. For my entrée, I ordered the lamb rack medium rare. It was incredible. The meat was so tender & juicy. It fell right off the bone. There was also no bad after taste from lamb that you get from ordering from other restaurants.

We routinely order carry out from Sahara on Hall road. Usually, we go with the Sahara Super Combo and it’s ALWAYS plentiful as well as flavorful! From shawarma to cream chop, right down to the pickled vegetables the food is always made right. Never has Sahara been a disappointment
