Denny’s

Everyone talks about how poor their service is. They are honest people and treat you the way you are treating them. So if you come in with a snotty attitude and are rude to them, they will return the favor. The food is always great, and service has always been great.

I woulve given it 5 stars if we didn’t have to change servers because we watched our first server (still dnt know her name) play with her hair and talk on her phone while checking food. While we were waiting for her to finish texting and scratching her scalp, the host had to take our drink orders because she saw the frustration in our faces. When she was ready to take our orders, it was «What you want? Yall ready??» Well hello to you too. THANKFULLY Miss Ann came to our rescue and made our visit turn out much better than it could’ve went considering the fact our first server constantly gawked at our table smacking her lips and rolling her eyes. I would LOVE to come back, if we arent sat in her section.

Your standard Denny ‘s like the rest. Decent food, serves breakfast all day. The waitresses are always very attentive here, but it takes forever to get your food. I come here about twice a year thinking it might change, but the wait is always the same. IHOP is just down the road, you might want to go there instead for a shorter wait.

The food isn’t bad here and the service has been pretty decent. I was surprised at the selection they had. My wife and I have turned this into somewhat of a yearly tradition as we have eaten there both this year and last year before seeing the Hobbit films. We’ll probably do it again next year as well!
My only complaint was that the menu was somewhat confusing in regards to substitutions, something pretty common with diner and breakfast type of food. The wait staff got everything taken care of for us, though. Oh, and while the menu showed what looked like fresh cranberry sauce with the turkey and dressing, when it arrived it was just the canned jelly sauce.
It’s really nicely decorated at Christmas, though, which is when we tend to be at Denny’s. Just like in the Santa Clause!

Great service! Very friendly waitress who was also speedy with the food. One of the better Denny’s!

Had a nice meal at Denny’s Restaurant in Shelby last night. We wanted something light and figured they had salads and sandwhiches. Typical Denny’s menu with some new flavored teas and sodas on the menu. I really enjoyed the mango tea. I got a side salad, perfect size, and my husband got the egg sandwhich and hashbrowns. Our waitress was brand new. Totally slow, but I understood. The food came out quick, but when we asked for to-​go drinks and a dessert to go, it took FOREVER!!! She was very nice and sweet, but she didn’t know how to get the caramel to come out, then we found she put the dessert in the box upside down. The top was shallow so the ice cream was dripping out the holes. I was a bit irritated, however, I figured this was her first waitressing job, so we tried to be patient. She did balance the newness with a cheerful attitude and smile, so that was helpful. Typical Denny’s.
