The food was not fresh. Tasted like it had been stored for awhile and brought out of the cooler for several days in a row: long after it should have been taken to the dumpster. In particular the chicken and the egg roll tasted like they had begun the initial spoiling process. I threw out half of it. I ordered the Chicken Bento box which would have been a great deal if the food was fresh. For trying to save a few bucks by selling old food they lost my business for the long term.

I love the food here, there lunch menu is so delicious they have a nice box lunch special which can fit any budget. the wait staff is very friendly and the manager has a selection of cool music, I can always pop in for lunch, listen to some Sting or some of my 80’s favorite. the ambiance is cool and its in a really nice location, having relocated to Shelby this is very accessible to me, the menu is reasonably price and you can find something you like.

On the way Charlotte, hoping to avoid stopping at Taco Bell or Bojangles, I noticed Sushi Dojo beckoning to me in a small strip mall. I swung into the center with hope — yes, I was about to avoid fast food on a trip to Charlotte. I should have kept driving. The server was great, no problems there. The dish I had, was, well, sort of funky. I got the Korean tacos, and the texture and temperature were a little off. The sauces were pretty good though, and I forged ahead and ate them anyway due to that convenient cloak. My point: I think I got one of the misses described by others. I try everything twice, so I’d still probably give them another shot.

Food is hit or miss, but the last three times I’ve been there the service has been horrible. I’ve always had to wait at least 30 minutes for my food, even if it’s slow and they’re completely staffed. I suggest eating somewhere else.

Disappointing. Not a place I’d go back to. Left to go get something good. The squid salad was especially icky.

Can’t speak to all the bad experiences others have had. It’s always busy when I go. I however really like this place. I’ve gone at least 7 or 8 times in the past couple of years. I like to go heavy on the appetizers. The gyoza are good but my favorite is the tempura. The portion of tempura is large(you can get veggie or shrimp). They have a pretty good selection of draft beers including Kirin Ichiban. I have admittedly not ventured through the menu much. We like the tuna roll and the crunch roll. The staff is fast and friendly. Not sure about the charging for water thing because I always drink hot tea or beer. All I know is that if you crave Tempura, go to Sushi Dojo and you won’t be disappointed.

Not my favorite place for sushi(although their sushi is good) but their panko battered salmon and curry is really good and their oyster friend rice is amazing. They do charge for water though, which is weird. I’ve been here numerous times(probably at least once a month since it opened) and have never had bad service one time. I always find Sushi Dojo a very fun place to eat, whether it’s just my wife and I or a group of friends.

So bad. 1 star is too much for them. Never want to come back again. Bad service. The food was awful, they use Instant noodle to make ramen, they even not come with the tempura thing like it wrote on menu. They treat u with the receipt when u check out. Recalculate before u pay.

Food was okay, service was great! Biggest issue is they charge $ 0.25 for a glass of tap water and will not negotiate! I have never paid for tap water anywhere. Owner/Manager was a jerk and i will never return to this location.

2015 For the last 2 years we have eaten here a couple times a week. They have vegetarian options for my husband. I still consider it 3 stars. Food is very good. The waitstaff has become really hit or miss(even if you get the same waitress). When it is a miss, if you aren’t willing to make an obnoxious butt out of yourself(which I am not because I will come back anyway), you end up eating food that is different than what you ordered(waitress knows, brings it up herself). 2011 The side of yakisoba noodles is a small serving and outrageously over priced at $ 5. It is my favorite thing on the menu. They will not sell a kids meal to an adult, even if they are buying other food… like if you wanted to order sushi and a kids meal of the chicken & rice to keep the cost down because you don’t want to buy 2 whole meals and waste food – that’s a big fat NO… but the food is good enough. It is better than Yamato Express. They have lunch specials, which are good – same food, lower price. If the edamome was cheaper or if the yakisoba noodles were $ 3 – I would probably eat there 3 – 4 times a week instead of once every 3 or 4 weeks. Not the kind of place where you feel appreciated as a customer, but again, the food consistently tastes good enough.
