Nonnas Nummies

I am so happy there is another place to choose from in Shell Knob! I’ve been here a few times. The food and service is great. However. the food is a bit odd tasting so I think they need to work on their flavor combinations. I come from California. I have tried everything and anything and I am a big restaurant goer. This food is good. For example. The sweet potato fries. They are sweet on their own. They are meant to be savory. However this place serves them with sugar on top. like salt. except sugar. That is just plain weird next to my cheeseburger. Alone the fries are great and the burger is also great but together.. not the best combo. I haven’t got to try the desserts yet but they look fantastic and I will be back to get some. The turkey sandwich with horseradish is very very good. My favorite so far. However they have really skimped on the amount of turkey my sandwich was literally 1 slice of turkey which was paper thin. With the thick ciabatta bun they really need to add more than 1 thin slice of meat. I ended up throwing half my bun away because it was more of a bread sandwhich. I had this same sandwich a year ago and it was loaded with turkey and it was memorable. The burger meat is flavorful and gives you that home cooked taste. Nice clean, comfy, place to eat, casual atmosphere with local artwork displayed. Prices aren’t bad. Your looking at $ 20 – 25 for a couple to eat with sodas and and a tip.
I must add this to the review… I have to say they should really communicate with each other a bit more because my waitress was doing fine with refills and asking if I needed anything else, however a couple other people also kept asking that as well. That was overkill. Asking me questions while my mouth is full of food is kinda rude and asking me for refills over and over and if I need anything else. honestly I’d say someone asked us something at least 10 times in 30 minutes. That’s every 3 minutes! Again I’m thrilled I wasn’t ignored. but man. let me eat in peace please. I will definitely be back to try some of the desserts soon.

Great place to eat in shell knob. Great new menu. Specials on the weekends are amazing. And the have fish taco Friday’s. Lovely owners with a great staff. It’s must stop place.

Nonnas’ is wonderful. A bright & cheery place with food that is more on the side of gourmet flavor but yet simple and delicious. If you are in Shell Knob or even a little bit outside, it is well worth the drive… We love it and give it 5 stars!
Prices are reasonable. They make their own ice cream!

The menu is not run of the mill, but very good. They are right there to serve you when you walk in.

If you are ever in Shell Knob or driving through, you must stop! They have the best food and the nicest service! Their prices are unbelievable. You will not be disappointed (unless you don’t go)!
