This is another one of Washington’s great state parks. While it’s moderately small, it’s just wonderful to be able to still enjoy nature in the way you can here. I will agree that it is almost eerily quiet here, which allows you to really cast off the mental craziness of city life and take in the sights, smells, and sounds(or lack there of) of this little park. The discovery pass is required unless you pay per day. There are several camping sites and places to park an RV as well as cookout stations and a marina for your floatation device of choice. The trails are quite nice as well. There isn’t a whole lot of change in elevation which might not be cool for some people but may work for others. I wore hiking boots and the ground wasn’t too bad in most areas. There was a bit of unplanned mud and muck and varying states of decay throughout so watch your step. Don’t worry about getting lost either as there are a lot of unmarked mini trails as all the trails seem to lead back out to the main entrance road or a state maintain major roadway. If you are camping or even if you’re not, there are very clean restroom facilities and a shower as well for general use. I felt very safe in this park. The address listed shows Shelton and this is actually on Harstine Island. Overall, this was a wonderful short day trip and now I feel relaxed after my hike. I will probably be back here to see how this place is during the summer.

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Lopez Island, WA
We visited here on Monday and were impressed with how peaceful the park was. We drove to the park and parked, but many visitors come via boat, as the park has a dock and mooring options. There is a short trail system in the park which was shady and pleasant. There are not a ton of campsites, it is a small and quiet park. It looked like the sites were a mix of reservable and first come first served sites. There is a nice grassy lawn by a number of the sites, probably fun for kids and dogs to run around. There are also a number of nice campsites down by the boat dock that are for boaters to use, they have great privacy. The park also manages a number of nearby islands that are only accessible by boat. I think this would be a really fun park to camp at if you had a boat and could visit the other islands. If you are just driving, it would probably just be a good camping experience if you wanted to relax at the campsite and not do a whole lot, or if you had other things in the area you were interested in. Great park if you’re looking for peace and quiet.
