Been there a couple of times now for lunch. Pleasantly surprised… had a good Reuben and then next time a pretty good Italian combo. Kind of tucked in to a convenience store and gas station complex so it’s easy to miss but worth it. Affordable. Attentive, friendly and fast service… I had barely turned around after ordering and my Italian combo was done!

I mostly go to Scooter’s Deli for their Breakfast Sandwiches. Their Bacon, Egg and Cheese sandwiches are great and for only $ 3 for the sandwich you just can’t go wrong. Staff is extremely friendly and call me by my first name all the time. I have also gotten Their Philly cheese steak grinder and it is Delicious. The service is also very fast. You can call ahead to place your order but I usually just walk in, place my order and it’s ready in about 5 minutes. With the Gas Station and Dunkin’ Donuts inside it’s the perfect place to stop each morning before heading to work.

i love there meat subs they give you alot for a little i get extra meat on a foot long with a drink under ten buck there very nice people i like to go there alot

My only problem is the Cuban sandwich. I only found on place in Connecticut that can make an authentic Cuban. Very simple process an yet so difficult to find. Cuban bread (or a soft bread a grinder roll is fine) boiled ham, roast pork, Swiss chess, pickles, mustard. Pressed the sandwich until the cheese melts. Any other ingredients the sandwich is destroyed.
I grew up in Miami and this is a comfort food for me.

Scooters is a deli located in the body of the local Exxon (which it shares with a Dunkin Donuts). The food is tasty, at reasonable prices, but is definitely not your first choice if you want healthy. The meatball sub and hot dogs are not to be missed.
The grill is only kept on until 5 PM, so don’t expect to pick up dinner from here. But for a nice breakfast sandwich or lunch choice, it is a good alternative.

–This should be a 3.5 star review, but as you can see there are no half stars. Scooter’s is your typical deli with sandwiches, wraps, and grinders of both the cold and hot variety. They also serve breakfast. If you’re in the Shelton area and don’t want burgers or your main-line sub places, try them out. They are also a full-service convenience store, so there is a lot to choose from.
