So… Having moved to the PNW about two years ago from Texas, I’ve had one helluva time finding someplace to get a good steak. My personal preference is a simple medium rare sirloin… no frills, no rubs, no spices, no mushrooms, no onions, no «secret seasoning»… just the steak! But, despite my visiting all the supposed best places for steaks in a 30 mile radius, I came up with bupkis. Until today. Here on the main drag in this little lumber town, I finally found my steak! Yeah, it was tiny for the price by Texas standards(~$ 17 for a 10 oz), but a great cut of beef, cooked(dare I say it?) PERFECTLY.(Dinner menu has a 16oz that I’ll be coming back for!) The wife and I «dropped in»(40 minute drive from our house) for lunch on a Wednesday, prior to exploring the local historical sites, and found this tiny jewel with only enough seating for 30 or so, and only a few other diners. Clean, quaint, with a single server(who was pleasant, friendly and attentive), and a full bar, complete with wine list. First impressions always being important, after a friendly greeting from the server, and being directed to «have a seat anywhere», we noted the clean, crisp linen napkins and tablecloths. We were provided a menu, asked for our drink order, and advised of the«daily special», but I didn’t hear her… I was already looking for something in particular. The lunch menu was pretty extensive for such a tiny place, with the usual«lunch stuff», but I found what I was looking for and that was that! By the time the server returned with drinks, we were ready to order. Bacon/mushroom burger on ciabatta and garlic fries for the wife, and THESTEAK for me(with house salad option instead of fries). Our order was done and served in about as much time as it took to cook the food… no waiting. And our server, like I mentioned above, never let our glasses get low. Both meals were excellent, and portions were fine. If you’re ever in Shelton, give this little place a try! Maybe we’ll see you there, because we WILL be back!

The beer was good and the service friendly, but the steak was undercooked and distinctly second-rate. Even the twice-baked potato was not very good. The best food piece would have been roll with butter.

My wife and I both had the 10 oz strip steak and twice baked potatoes with a salad. We came in an hour before closing and had the whole place to ourselves. Even though it was close to the end of the night, the food and service was still terrific!

We’ve been here a couple times, both times left satisfied. Oddly enough my favorite thing at the Strip is the fish and chips. Very good! My wife had the New Year’s Eve prime rib special. It was great! It’s a small joint and one waitress had the place to herself. She was great! Kudos!

We stopped in for lunch this week at The Strip Steak House in Shelton. Our service and lunch choices were outstanding! Two of us ordered the strip steak salad and soup special(cheddar broccoli) and the third went with the prime rib dip with garlic fries. The flavor to the very last bite with sensational. Thank you for bringing such a great restaurant to Shelton.

Really nice service. We ordered the prime rib with baked potato and the ribeye with sweet potato fries. All was good but the ribeye was exceptional. It would make it worth a detour to come back if we have any plans in the area in the future.

We recently decided to try this place for dinner. I had the T-Bone with salad and garlic fries. She had the New York with salad and steak fries. The salads were not fresh and were quite soggy. My garlic fries were basically store bought French fries and minced garlic mixed together. The steak fries were also something you’d buy at the store. I ordered my T-Bone rare and it came back medium. Her New York was ordered medium rare and also came back medium. The quality of meat didn’t meet our expectation given the price. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the lack of flavor/seasoning on the steak. They were very bland. It was the first time I can remember having to use salt and pepper from the table on a steak at a restaurant.

Although the staff was friendly, they may want to raise the quality of meat cuts at this price point. I do not mind a $ 30 streak(I had the t-bone), but it should be a little better quality. Appetizer was really good(grilled shrimp) and the bar is small but works.

We stopped at the restaurant on our way to Port Angeles after reviewing and scratching out all other options. Made the right choice, plenty of food, one meal easily serves two persons. Steak was properly prepared and sweet potato fries were really tasty. It’s not a cheap place, I guess locals come here for a special Friday dinner.

Let’s face it — Shelton doesn’t have a lot to offer. It was ok. Food was even worth noting. Service was good. Cute location.

I choose one of the specials, steak salad. It was amazing! The dressing had a mellow spicy kick and the meal was soooo flavorful! The serving size was just right for me. I finished it all. The meal size may have left my husband wanting a little more. But if you’re wanting a dessert too you won’t be leaving your plate half full to save room. Our server was attentive without being obtrusive. The atmosphere can be loud and privacy limited if there are several other parties as the space is limited. However, I find that Red Robin or Applesbees can be just as loud or louder. So the atmosphere isn’t a deal breaker.

My wife and I were referred to this restaurant by an employee of Mason County real estate mogul Richard Beckman. The salad and bread that was served beforehand were both equally outstanding. The steaks, however, didn’t quite hold up to the expectation I had built up from the amazing starter dishes. They weren’t bad, but they were very run-of-the-mill, about as uneventful as a slab of beef could be. If I ever have the misfortune of passing through the Shelton area again, I’d give this place another whirl, but it’s certainly not worth driving to. I will say, though, as far as Shelton, Washington goes, the Strip Steak House is probably the only place I would ever trust when it comes to ordering a steak.

Still going strong, and with great food. I was in last night and got the 10oz sirloin — it was excellent! The meat itself was excellent quality, and then was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My mom(who lives in Shelton) comes often, and commented that she loves every singe one of their soups. Last night was chicken chili, and I wanted to lick my bowl. Highly recommended.

I had a big, fat top sirloin and a baked potato. Oh, and a glass of Jameson Irish whisky too. The steak was cooked perfectly, but could have been seasoned more. A little salt and pepper solved the problem easily. A modest veggie side to go with the meat and the starch would not only round out the plate, but make it a little more appealing to the eye. A nice little place. I’ll visit again the next time I’m in Shelton.
