If your name is Cleetus, Bubba, or Zeke, if you believe in Bronze Age monotheistic doctrine because everyone you were raised with were also indoctrinated and lacked critical thinking, if reading makes you fall asleep, if you don’t take kindly to fancy big city people and their fast talkin’ ways, if the cultural diversity that defines most college towns frightens you, you’ll be right at home at this quaint little greasy spoon.

The Park Restaurant also know as Jimmy’s is a local favorite. When visiting Shenandoah, stop in for a hamburger steak order of fries & vanilla shake.

I enjoyed the food and service. The prices are not to be beat. The downsides are(1) it is very unclean, there is dust and grease caking the area that is visible for the patrons to see.(2)the other patrons kept looking at me like I wasn’t supposed to be there and(3) the parking lot is impossible to navigate, since the patrons park on the grass in two rows {my suggestion is to park in the row closest to the road, instead of near the restaurant… so no one can park behind you}. One other note is: the location is different than where pictured on the map – it’s right next to the main street/924 {in Girard park} right before you start to head up the mountain.

Central Casting couldn’t dream up a diner as authentic as the Park Restaurant. Formica counters, cozy booths, waitresses that know all the town gossip and diners that greet each other by first name — this place is a genuine throwback to a different time. Breakfast is a real treat at the Park Restaurant, with huge helpings at affordable prices. Make sure you order the potatoes with cheese and onions, they are a real treat! And, don’t forget to say hello to all the old blue hairs!
