Grapes & Grains Gourmet

We stopped by after a day at Harper’s Ferry to pick up a dinner picnic for our hotel room. The team here is dedicated to finding great wines and bringing them to you. They’re passionate, knowledgeable and down to earth. We wish we could go back all the time.

Great little wine shop with knowledgable staff, free wine tastings and great cheese pairings!

They have a nice variety of wines.
There was a free wine tasting as well, which was generous of them. The lady who was serving the wines was friendly and knowledgeable. Employees are kind and helpful. They have a restroom in the back.
I like the laid back vibe of this place. They also sell candles towards the front of the restaurant. There are different chocolates and snacks being sold towards the back of the store. This is a great place to find gifts for loved ones.

I used to go there for their tastings, which was a thimble full. Quit going after all the artsy photos in the windows and inside of the store of the boys that works there. One of the photos in the window 6−2−14 is of an employee who looked passed out with lots of tattoos and a beer can laying on him and his hand laying on his crotch. I kid you not! What kind of message is this trying to send? I won’t go there even if I have to pay twice the price for the wine elsewhere. To the owner, please wake up!

When I first went into this place I was not expecting much. I usually live in the bay area near the great California wine regions and even there have a hard time finding a good wine shop. Yet I was amazed to discover many of my favorite value wines from Sonoma and Napa sitting there on the shelves of my hometown! I have a hard time finding many of these wines in California and there they all were sitting side by side.
They have a little of everything from California to Australia, West Virginia to France at what I find an extremely reasonable price (they even have a less than $ 10 washtub in the front) and some great beers in the back. I applaud their taste and would recommend stopping by for a chat or wine tasting on Saturdays. I’m sure you’ll end up with a few bottles on your way out.

Nice selection of wine and beer. Found several brews I haven’t seen in other stores around the state. Very friendly service … and a dog!

Extremely friendly service, though not everybody is knowledgeable about the products they sell. The guys here seem to share their honest opinion about beers, good or bad. On one occasion, a clerk opened a bottle for me to sample. That made me a fan! However, on another occasion, a different person didn’t know anything about the wines she was serving at a tasting.
