Mountaineer Ice Cream

An unexpected bargain for ice cream! Two LARGE scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone for three bucks. Good ice cream, with 40 flavors to choose from… definitely worth a stop.

I came for the ice cream (which was great) but I return again and again for the home made chili and pulled pork.
When I first moved to Shepherdstown, my wife and I said that the one thing this town lacked was a great ice cream shop. Now we have one!
There’s nothing better after a day out on the river, or while studying for exams, or while shopping on German street, than a casual cool break with delicious hand-​dipped ice cream, and a truly home made chili dog.
I hope the students at Shepherd University pick up on how good the food is at this Ice Cream shop. They only serve a couple of hot items, but those items are served up in true west Virginia style, with nothing but the best ingredients.
Sure, they also have scrumptious ice cream floats, cones, sundaes, milkshakes, made-​to-​order with all the care of being at your own family cookout on a hot summer’s day. But as a student, I could live off of their pulled pork and chili dogs.
