Four of us stopped at the Rumsey Tavern for lunch yesterday. We arrived at 2:30, so they were not very busy. My wife had the crab and corn chowder soup and I had the French onion soup. Both of the soups were delicious. Our friends had a wrap and the fish and chips. Their comments were positive, especially about the fish and chips. Service was excellent. Very friendly waiter staff. The carving of the Rumsey successful steamboat launch is impressive.

I don’t think the food here is very good. Crab cakes were burnt. Chicken parm was just blaaaa. Wine tasted like water. Service was very good, but we won’t be back.

Spent almost 90 minutes total in the restaurant with a 17-month-old. 45 minutes was spent waiting for our food *after* we ordered.

This tavern is connected to the hotel that I had to stay in for work. I don’t know why their food tasted so much better than the food that they served us everyday. The service is extremely slow but I thought it was pretty good. The crabcake for my crabcake sandwich probably only covered ½ the bread but considering that I was dying for something to eat over the buffet dining hall, I was happy. Wednesday evenings is karaōke and the place gets pretty packed.
