This is a hidden gem. I’m not sure I want to rave too much because then everyone will start coming here and it may lose some of the qualities that make it awesome. But you should know, if you need any ER services or other doctor ordered tests(MRI, CAT, Xrays. ect) THIS is the place to come. I went here today for a strained back injury. The wait time at the ER was approximately 5 minutes. I was completely triaged, taken to a room and seen by a doctor in 20 minutes flat. Even though I was in & out quickly, the diagnostic questions weren’t rushed, and I didn’t feel like they thought I was just looking for pain meds(which I wasn’t). I appreciated their genuine concern and the fact that the Dr. didn’t try to order any unnecessary/expensive tests to diagnos. The admissions folks, nurse and Dr. were all great. The facility itself is clean, beautiful and not frantic & busy like any other ER I’ve seen. Maybe it was the time that I went(Sunday morning at 10:15am) but it was refreshingly subdued in there. Definitely will be my go-to hospital from now on.

This is absolutely the best Emergency Room and Outpatient Services hospital in the area. I’ve had the unfortunate need to visit the facility several times over the last few years. Each time I have received excellent service from a kind and caring staff.

It is a given that a spartan will take a few cuts and scrapes, generally getting a little banged up, as he or she makes their way through life. That being said, I’ve seen the inside of quite a few medical centers around the globe. I’ve also been exposed to so many electromagnetic fields and so much radiation from MRIs, CTs, X-rays, etc. that I should have had super powers by now. On one particular night I had the occasion to drop in to the Jewish Hospital Medical Center South’s Emergency Department to have a few sutures placed into an otherwise unseemly gash that I received in the course of a day’s work. Everyone from the triage nurse to the ER staff was quite accommodating and exceptionally professional. I was patched up and back on the road in less than an hour. The facility is still relatively new and the Emergency Department is small and does not boast a full trauma center. However, it never seems crowded — the wait times compared to other local ERs isn’t even close -, the staff is extremely pleasant and professional. If you’re in the Louisville, KY area and unlucky(or unskilled) enough to receive a gunshot wound or a life-threatening knife wound I would still place my bets on the University of Louisville Hospital’s trauma center. For all other bumps and bruises, this might just be the place to be.
