The Good: The planning process is pretty slick, you get signed up for an online portal where you can fill out some planning forms and choose your music genres/​specific songs. The online portal goes through every aspect of your wedding day and even has a database of music that you can listen to if you need inspiration. With such clear forms, the DJ played our selected songs for every aspect of our wedding correctly.
We got a great deal with our wedding being in November — they were available on our wedding day on short notice (6 weeks out), and we got an off-​season rate.
Though they typically don’t allow 3^rd party hookups, they allowed my little sister to play her keyboard through their sound system during the ceremony (and provided the cable to do so). This was important.
The Not-​So-​Good: During our final consultation (10 days out), we went through all the forms and answered last minute questions, but I left with the feeling that something was missing. I may not have had additional questions at the time, but I did not feel like we had a thorough enough final consultation to make sure our day went smoothly. An example would be that day-​of, our DJ rejected all guest song requests! I had not thought to specify this detail, and I feel like it should have been asked of us. We had some songs/​genres selected, as well as a do not play list, but we never told the DJ to reject guest requests. Announcements also could have been louder/​more clear — this seemed to get lost among guests. Although the DJ got people dancing all night, a number of guests were disappointed with the DJ for not playing more variety of music and rejecting song requests.
Overall: Although nothing went terribly wrong and the vendor is very professional and well-​known in the industry, I was not «wow-​ed» by the choice of DJ for my wedding. DJ Guy has several DJs on staff, so your experience could vary based on who is selected for your wedding.

Had DJ Guy for our fall barn wedding. The experience dealing with DJ Guy leading up to the event was great. They were in continuous communication and always available to answer all of our questions, the gentlemen I always spoke with (owner?) was awesome. Our DJ left a bit more to be desired though. He wasn’t BAD but he wasn’t the kind of DJ/​MC experience we were expecting. He seemed tired and uninterested in the event overall. All of the personal requests we filled out online and talked about with DJ Guy in person never happened. Any time I tried to give visual clues our DJ wasn’t paying attention to the events on the floor, which made for some awkward «what do we do now» moments. It’s a shame because we really put a lot of time and thought into our choices and the moments were lost. He made the required announcements and played music, however the Bridal party soon had to keep reminding him of the types of music we liked to keep the party on track. Overall it was okay but it wasn’t amazing.

DJ Guy did an outstanding job providing the music and announcements for our recent wedding. They were an essential part of the day, going with flow of the wedding and judging the crowd so that our guests were dancing all night. We were particularly impressed how they included our 10 year old grandson in the event. He was the only child at our reception and our DJ, Kevin had him lead everyone in several dances, including the Chicken Dance and the Cha Cha slide. We had many compliments from our guests that it was the best wedding they have ever been to, and Brian and I couldn’t agree more. Thank You Kevin and all of the DJ Team for making our wedding day an event we will never forget!

We chose DJ Guy for our wedding and we are so happy with our decision. They were so easy to work with and they knew exactly what to provide for our big day. We really liked that they checked-​in with us throughout the night to make sure we were all on the same page about the flow of the evening. Thank you so much!

We hired DJ Guy for our August 2014 wedding on a recommendation from a friend. As we were planning our wedding from another state (we live in Seattle), communication was key for us. DJ Guy went above and beyond. They answered emails and phone calls promptly and paid attention to details I hadn’t even considered. The day of the wedding our DJ (James) was so friendly and kept the party going. We had requested no speeches at the reception and James played buffer when one of our well-​intentioned drunk friends wanted to give a toast. We had also asked for no line dances but our guests kept requesting them. James checked in with us after every request and we quickly gave in to the line dances (give the people what they want!). James not only DJed but was leading the crowd, teaching dance moves and seemed to be having a ton of fun doing so. Awesome business run by awesome people!

Terrible DJ experience! DJ left and was nowhere to be found for over 20 min during wedding reception when we wanted to cut cake and do speeches. DJ guy blew it off like it was nothing. No discount, refund, not even an apology. DO NOT USE THEM!

Our wedding reception was perfect because DJ Guy made sure to listen to requests from all guests, which made dancing the night away very easy and fun. They have an amazing online tool to create your wedding song requests that guests can add to as well. They were all very helpful, kind, funny and paid great attention to detail. They had some is the best sound systems, too! I would highly recommend using DJ Guy for your wedding!

Awful! The night of our event the DJ Guy was a no show and so I called the # and they shared that they misplaced our contract and then went on about how they were robbed and so paperwork was misplaced, etc. but acknowledged that we indeed had that evening booked for our corporate party and so the owner, Mike, was going to personally come and DJ the event. That seemed like the professional thing to do until about a few hours into the evening, Mike changed his story and was raising his voice at me telling me that now he wasn’t sure we had an agreement. Prior to the event, we submitted a deposit for the event, I went over the playlist with one of the staff members and sent in an executed contract. I would NEVER use this company again as I can understand mistakes happen but you should never treat the client in such a disrespectful and rude manner when we did have an agreement in place for the DJ Guy Services.

Amazing.
I had read the Unilocal reviews on different DJ’s in Denver and because of the rave reviews we went with DJ Guy. It turned out to be one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding. The DJ was there from the prelude ceremony music through the last dance at the reception and was full of energy, on the dance floor getting people to dance even with our small wedding party of 80.
DJ Guy worked with us when we found out a week before the wedding there would not be power out at our ceremony site and they improvised with us and brought a power pack to the site. They even tested the pack the week before to make sure that it would last our entire ceremony.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a DJ. They also were the only people that could remotely work in our budget, all other DJs we looked at around Denver were way out of range.

We were married in August in Vail, and DJ Guy helped to make our dinner and reception incredible! The DJ did an amazing job, and our dance floor was packed all night. He totally read the crowd and was able to play the perfect selection of music, including all of the songs we had requested. We could not have asked for a better DJ experience, and I would highly recommend these guys!

Our wedding coordinator was sick, so we were hoping that the DJ would sort of make sure that events (first dance, bouquet toss, etc.)happened when they should, but we really had to tell him what to do and when. He was very nice and professional, though. We had also taken many hours to choose a song list, and most of our songs went unplayed. However, our guests did have a great time dancing to his song choices. Also, they tried to charge us $ 300 more than our contract amount, but were nice about it when I challenged them. Make sure you save your contract. Overall, very polite folks, but did have some issues.

Just had these guys at our wedding in October 2012.
We are really happy how everything worked out. My guests had lots of fun and so did we!
I would work with them again.
