After much digging this year for a nice quiet place to camp not to far from home we settled on this place. It was a great weekend and went back 3 weeks later and are planning on going again in a few weeks. The sites are large, the owner is sweet and Jerry, the maintenance man, stopped by everal times to make sure we had everything we needed. Firewood is delivered right to the site and everyone is very friendly. They do not seem to tolerate loud campers and do not welcome it. My kids ages 10 thru 16 loved the pool and pond for swimming, as did my husband and I. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet, family friendly place to camp.

I work in customer service. I understand that work is stressful. But the owner of this place is batshit. Recently,(7÷7÷2015) I was looking for a place to camp for my birthday with a few friends. The first time I had called for information because their out dated website said to call for prices. The first guy I talked to did not care about anything. We asked if we could bring a grill, and he said«I’m not really sure if your campsite has one… You can bring a grill but I’m not sure if we can let you use it.» This employee was not specific with the details of our reservation for a campground, either. We asked for prices, because there was none on the website. It seemed like he pulled a number out of his butt. $ 21 per person per night WHICHISRIDICULOUSLYEXPENSIVE. He said it with some hesitation. We called a few days before just to confirm the reservation. A new woman picked up the phone. Because the prices seemed fishy, I wanted to double check. She said that weekend prices were $ 21 per person per night. Since we were staying over a Tuesday night, I asked what the weekday prices were. She went off. This lady just must have been in the same womb as satan because let me tell you, she got mad after I offhandedly said that we were looking at other campgrounds, such as starved rock, and that they were much MUCH cheaper. «You know what I’m just going to cancel your reservation.» She interrupted me, completely cutting me off. Like I mentioned before, I work in customer service and I KNOW that I was not being irrational. I told her that we would like to keep our reservation and she refused to keep it because«she doesn’t want us to feel like we were taken advantage of, so don’t bother coming at all.» THISISTHECHERRYONTOP: We asked to speak to a manager. «I am the manager,» said this bitter woman. «Okay well ma’am, what is your name?» «MYNAMEISOWNER.» This woman actually hung up on us, and canceled our reservation. Never did get her name. Bottom line: these redneck groundskeepers that call themselves hospitable treated me with the most disrespect ever in my life. Horrible, horrible customer service and poorly informed employees.
