Blazing Saddles

I’m a a Blazing Saddles regular, and that’s because every class is kick ass in the best way possible. Each instructor has his/​her own style but what they all have in common is they know what they’re doing– no gimmicks or craziness, just consistently challenging yet fun rides. The music (key in my book) is great across the board, too! Book your bike in advance, on the app makes it super easy. And blaze on!

Fastest way to get rid of the «jiggles» on your thighs. I come here when I’m in town. Started out with the free deal, graduated to the unlimited monthly, now series. Familiar with Susan’s teaching from the old daze at Debbie Rockers spin studio. The other day forgot my spin shoes, Shirley must have known her upcoming class would be a killer and loaned me a pair. Forgot socks also, so she gave me a brand new pair to have. Then in class, someone forgot their towel. She gave them a new one to have. Okay, I’m a fan forever. Pros: validated parking lot next door. Very experienced teachers (hint: see who is sold out) Brand new bikes, you feel 5 lbs lighter leaving because of the hard w.o. and they take care of you *smile*. No more jiggles.

I took a free first class here and it was great! The staff is friendly, class upbeat and the time flew by! I felt great afterwards. I had taken one spin class years ago at a gym and it wasn’t as fun as blazing saddles. The lights were low and the music awesome.

This is a great spin studio with amazing teachers who care about what they do. I have been going to this studio for about 3 years and have always felt taken care of. With regard to the comments about the cancellation policy, this policy is posted everywhere and, as far as I can tell, has never changed. As a busy lawyer, wife and mom of a child who is always getting sick, I have been subject to this policy numerous times. It is only fair. I will continue to stick with Blazing Saddles, because the quality of the classes and the service are worth it. The app also makes booking classes so easy!

I’ve never tried spinning before, but while my hip/​knee injury heals, I needed another form of cardio besides running. I decided to try Blazing Saddles because one of their instructors, Lisa G., also teaches at my Pilates studio and I love her classes so I knew I’d get a great workout.
The first class is free and the new student two-​week deal is outstanding. The management was incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful, and Lisa helped me adjust the bike and gave me a quick beginner course before starting. Really spacious room, upbeat music, and the class flew by (although it was no joke — I consider myself pretty active and the burn was seriously real.) I was really impressed by how great everyone was, and you can’t beat an easy parking situation, especially with a studio right off Ventura. Can’t wait to go back!

Like most indoor cycling studios, the place is small and stuffed with bikes. Some instructors are better than others (Shirley is challenging!), but overall I have found the majority of classes to be very good workouts. Troublesome parking and lack or air circulation prevent the 5-​star rating, but all-​in-​all, I gladly give this studio $ to kick my butt into shape.

I have been going to Blazing Saddles regularly for a couple of years now. Cardio has never been my thing (well, exercise has never been my thing) but the instructors at Blazing Saddles make it fun. The customer service is superb, everyone at the front desk is friendly, and the on-​line reservation system makes it easy to sign up and purchase classes. They’re open seven days a week and have early morning as well as evening classes so it’s pretty easy to find a class to fit any schedule. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a killer work out you found your spot. I have been going 5x/​week for three weeks now and have lost an inch around each leg and around my waist! Shirley is amazing, plays amazing music and the time flies when ur in there. Glad I found this gem :)

Love this place. Each instructor is different, but with one thing in common — you get one heck of a workout. Some climb more, some jump more, some do more speed work — whatever works best for you, you’ll probably find. My favorite is Steve P because he mixes it all up and has the best music. I like to take Susan too, and it’s a completely different workout, more of an arc. I took classes with just about everybody at the beginning to see what I preferred, and all of them were good. Just explore them all and settle in with your favorites — you’ll definitely find them! An excellent workout every time, and a great vibe in this place.

I took my first spin class at this studio over 3 years ago after trying another studio on my own and hating it. Steve O’Connor was my instructor. I am officially a spin addict and I attribute it not only to Steve’s patience and kindness, but to all the owners for building a community and welcoming everyone. So, Shirley, Susan, Steve — thank you for sharing your time and family with me. Someone said I looked lean in class yesterday — haven’t heard that since I was in my 20s or 30s — and I won’t share how long ago that was– I am healthy and fit because of your support and guidance. Any one thinking about spinning should join this team!

THE BEST spin studio EVER! I read some reviews on this site that are SO FALSE and vindictive, in my opinion, that I just had to speak up.
First, they use the air conditioning when necessary, GLADLY. The space is so clean and comfortable.
The instructors are THE BEST — professional and über nice. I’ve never raised an issue that wasn’t attended to IMMEDIATELY, the management is that open and efficient.
Seriously, I’ve never gone to an exercise class before where 45 minutes goes by so fast. I lost fifteen pounds three years ago and it’s because of going to Blazing Saddles that I’ve maintained my weight loss. And that’s NEVER happened before in my life.
Cannot recommend this studio MORE HIGHLY! Go and find what I found for the first time — a cardio workout that is FUN and keeps you fit without the torture of exercise.

I’ve been taking spin classes here for three months and I have to say– I’m extremely happy!
I actually live on the other side of the hill and make it here two to three times a week. It’s worth the drive. I’m not afraid to say when I’m not pleased and honestly, I have zero negative comments. I came here because one of the instructors, Lisa, also taught a Pilates class I took. She’s amazing and she encouraged me to try spin. I need a hip replacement and both my doctor and physical therapist told me if I can strengthen the muscles around the joint, I can prolong the inevitable surgery. I feel great!
I’ve also taken Shirley’s class (who is one of the owners) and she was told in advance about my condition and informed me what I should and shouldn’t attempt to do during her class. Immediately I felt «taken care of» and had instructors that truly cared. I vary between taking both Lisa’s and Shirley’s class as I love them both.
They have a very easy app for scheduling, purchasing classes and any info you may need. You can also call the front desk (as I have done) they can put you on the waitlist for a class –btw I’ve not had any trouble getting into a class I want. Steve (who is also an owner) is at the desk frequently, helps set up your bike and he knew my name and my rental spin shoe size by week two! I’m a business owner myself and little things like that go a long way with me.
A lot of the people who go here are quite friendly and it’s a good atmosphere.
If you’re on the fence– the first class is free! Try it– you’ll like it!

This place is the best! Shirley, Susan and Steve — and the whole staff are fantastic and so accommodating. They have helped make sure I am comfortable on the bike and that my form is correct. And the amazing music they play makes the 45 min fly by. love love!

I tried the place out twice because it’s near my house, and I found the classes a bit over-​crowded, yet engaging, and the instructors were competent and patient with beginners. I would have purchased a pass; however, I have decided to pass on joining Blazing Saddles for the following reason:
A friend of mine was recently treated unprofessionally by the owner, Steve O’Connor. She had questioned (by email) a policy requiring members to cancel reservations 14 hours in advance, or be charged, even if they were unable (for whatever reason) to do so.
She was advised by the receptionist to contact Steve, and when she did so, he did not respond.
Thinking that her email had gone to his spam folder, she tried again to contact him.
But instead of responding with a businesslike statement such as «We are sorry, but this is our policy. We cannot accommodate your request to make up your missed class,» Steve sent out one of the most snarky letters I’ve ever read. He pointed out that she had «taken 19 free classes since 2012. 19!»
These are free classes offered to any and all members and pass holders. Why should he have reprimanded her for taking classes he himself had offered?
Worst of all, he wrote «I am now offering you the opportunity to spend your hard-​earned dollars elsewhere.»
Really?
This is not cool at all. A business owner should act appropriately and professionally. I found Steve’s sarcastic comments immature and mean– more appropriate for a Seinfeld rerun, rather than real life.

My girlfriend and I who are in our 30s signed up for classes at this place recently. During the first a few sessions we noticed they don’t like turning on the Air conditioner. When We asked the teacher why the air is not on, she said it is too expensive to run it. So we did not think of it much, until, one Saturday, the room was so hot that I had to leave because my heart was not able to take it. My friend had to take me to the ER.
To make the long story short, We stopped going to this place. When contacted the the admin, Steve O’conner to complain about the sitution, he totally ignored us, like the problem does not exist.
My recommendation is: If you want to have a heart attact, join this place. The owner is so cheap that he does not care about the well being of his customer. His first priority is to make the payments for his fancy car.
Now we have joined at a new spin facility less than half a mile away. It is less crowded, has great teachers and air is set at 72 with sufficient ventilation that prevents spreading viruses and microbes.

Spinning in the valley. It’s an intimate, no frills spin studio with feasible prices. Motivational instructors and helpful staff.

Sooooooo I fell in love with spin about 6 months ago and refuse to run anymore (hurts my knees). Normally I just take classes at 24 hour fitness, which is great because of the kids club, but now that I’ve found blazing saddles (grandpa gets the baby for an hour everyday haha). Today was my second class with Shirley and good god I love this woman!!! I love her energy and the music is perfect. Plus, I love the flexibility of picking a spin class at a time that fits my schedule. When I start to work night shift you better believe my ass is stopping here before going to sleep!

So after going roughly a year now. I must say that I would give them a 10 if it were available. The entire staff is friendly and professional, office and instructors.
Hours: AMAZING! They are open for early morning spinners. Midday spinners, evening spinners and weekends too! Convenient for everyone.
Lobby: Its smaller but very welcoming. Plenty of seating. They sell water and fresh juices. Rent and sell towels. (Trust me, you need a towel and water). They rent spin shoes too. (Again, takes the ride to another level). MERCH!!! They sell clothing, water bottles and other goodies with their logo on them. Super cute. I have pants, sweater, tank, bottle and a bag. :-D
STAFF: The reason they’re a 10!!! The three owners are cycling instructors. And let me tell you, you can see the passion they have. What an energy!!! Shirley, Steve O., and Susan. There are plenty more instructors too!
FINAL THOUGHTS: Great energy! Sense of community. EVERYONE is friendly. I feel so good when I go there, and I’m there a lot. I get a great workout and get to socialize with some amazing people. Side note: I live 22 miles away, against traffic. That’s how much I adore them!

This place is just great — I’m not a cyclist and/​or a «spinner» by definition — I got into the sport because my sister is a huge fan of Blazing Saddles and she got me hooked!
If you want a tough work out /​ride — I would take Shirley’s class. She makes you work! And you WANT to work — she inspires you and talks you through your whole ride.
I would say the same for Susan — although, her rides have more flat roads — she works your body in a whole different way than Shirley — which makes it fun/​exciting to switch between her and Shirley.
Love this place and the instructors give you a great work out. I stick to Shirley and Susan but I’m sure all of the instructors cater to each personality type. You just have to find the one that fits you best!

If your looking for a great spinning place in the valley this is it! I fell in love with this place after my injury (torn rotator cuff) and couldn’t do my regular workouts at CrossFit. And Thank god I did!
The people that run this place are so nice and accommodating. Always willing to help me set up my bike, join a class or answer any questions I have. I became super hooked after two weeks. I enjoy Joe’s classes because I really enjoy his music and his style of a lot of out of the saddle riding. However after giving a few other teachers a try like Shirley I got hooked! I loved her music and her awesome motivation! She always has me dying, I like a good workout! In fact I need one to keep my weight off while being injured, I never sweat so much in my life! Thank you Blazing Saddles! You definitely deserve 5 stars!!!
