Mr. Caputo has been barbering since 1940. BEFORE Pearl Harbor. 75 years. He is quick, precise and a master. Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Bob Hope, The Three Stooges, Chuck Heston were customers. Sinatra tipped 20 on a 2 dollar haircut. All proper respect is due this gentleman, do yourself a favor and stop in.

First time customer, and I can recommend this old time barber who gives a great haircut in 15 minutes. I hope he stays in business forever!

I’ve been passing by this location for years. Decided to stop by before heading home and get a clean up. Very impressed with the results.

Charged me $ 80 for a cut because my hair was a little long. $ 80! For a ten minute cut! Also showed him a picture of the cut I wanted and it was no where near it. It’s a nice cut, but not what I asked for, and certainly not worth $ 80. He seems like a nice old guy so I didn’t argue, just paid and left. Last time he gets my business.

After reading the reviews for Caputo’s Barber Shop, and looking for an old school undercut, we decided to give him a try. Best hair cut ever!!! Donato Caputo is old school, so talented he doesn’t need to use all the guards on the clippers that today’s new barbers do. He can do everything without the guard and delivered a perfect cut. Super nice man to boot! With experience beyond compare. We will be back!

My dad was a Baber and cut my hair until he recently passed away, so it was very dificult for me to find a new Barber. Fortunatly I came across Caputo’s. Donato is a class act and gave me an amazing haircut. The Italian Barbers that came from his era were the Best. It’s an art form and no one can compair to the skills they poses. As hard as this was for me, I couldn’t be happier. He’s definitly found a new loyal customer. I highly recommend you giving him a shot.

I’ve been coming here since 1999. Great old-school barber. Quietly, efficiently and consistently delivers the classic haircuts hipster joints can only aspire to. He’s best-in-class when it comes to tapering(don’t they teach that in barber school anymore?). Perfect for people like me –perennially in a rush and too busy to schedule an appointment. You can pretty much drop in any time and know that you’ll be in and out in under 15 minutes. Never a wait There’s free parking in the back. Cash only.

This barber is the best!!! He knows how to give a shave so comfortable that you can fall asleep while he shaves you. He has more experience than any other barber I have ever met. Used to do celebrities hair in Toluca lake area. Very professional!!! You will not be disappointed. Very relaxing shop not like those noisy places that put you on edge. And about the person complaining about towing, he is not being accurate. Mr. Caputo is very good at leaving the spaces available for his customers. Go pay him a visit. Best barber in all the valley !!!

Once the barber for Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope, Donato is as good as it gets if you’re looking for a haircut in the Valley. New customer are $ 20 and then he usually charges $ 30 for a trim. He’s flexible on the price tho. Couple things to know before going there, he has a parking in the rear which is great but make sure to check with him first right after parking because he’s quiet fast to call the tow truck company if he doesn’t know the car. He also doesn’t accept any credit cards so make sure to bring some cash. You have a Chase Bank right in front or Bank of West in the corner. Overall a great old barber«old school» à l’Italienne! He’s old and have a shivering hand but trust him. He’ll get you one of the best haircut you’ll ever had. I was quiet surprised actually.

True old school, but so expensive! He charged me $ 30 for a normal fade. If you have money to spend, I would recommend him.

The previous comment regarding Mr. Caputos services is actually false. He does not charge $ 50 for a beard trim. In fact he actually only charges $ 20 dollars. He trims mine once a week and does an excetional job every time. He also does a straight razor shave that is perfect every time. This guy is the real deal and also gives haircuts monday thru Friday for only $ 15. Thats quite a bargain for a man that was once the hairdresser for Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope. Hes old school. The real deal. Basically what all of these hipster shops try to emulate. This guy gets 5 stars!!!

I don’t know what I was thinking. Why didn’t I check Unilocal first? If any one in marketing at Unilocal needs an idea, I would be a great commercial. The guy was perfectly nice, but should have retired about 15 years ago. His hands are not steady at all. They trembled terribly while he did his work. Perfectly understandable for a guy his age, but not for a barber. Given his condition, I don’t know how he managed not to create a complete disaster. In that sense, it’s truly a miracle which I can not comprehend. So many thoughts went through my head during those 15 minutes(for $ 30!). Should I stop him now? Should I pay him? Should I tell him he should retire? Unfortunately, I couldn’t tell how bad it was because I didn’t have my glasses on. Thinking about it now, I wouldn’t be surprised if Seinfeld did an episode just like this with George Costanza, except he doesn’t have any hair. Unfortunately it’s an embarrassment, and on top of that, it’s probably too short to ask anyone to «fix» it. I can only hope it grows out enough and quickly enough. Why didn’t I just check Unilocal first???

I discovered Don many years ago, by accident! I’m a woman, and was fed up with hair dressers who changed my style each time I went to them, so I walked into Don’s shop and said, «Do something with this hair, will you?» And he did! I went back to him faithfully, having had many, many people stop me and ask who had cut my hair. Reluctantly I moved to NY and have had hit and miss cuts by VERY expensive($ 200 +) salons, to corner barbers. I’d give anything to have Don here in NYC, believe me.

I had never been to a barber shop and figured I would try one out since I grew out a beard in the last few weeks. I expected something quick and cheap, nothing fancy. It wasn’t fancy. The place was old as was the guy that give me a trim. I thought he did an ok job even though I don’t have any thing else to compare it to. It took about 15 minutes and I was happy with the results… until… $ 50! $ 50 for a beard trim and 15 minutes of work? No thanks.

wow what a haircut i am used to spending $ 75 dollars in bev hills for a cut and caputo far exceeded my usual stylist it is old schools and fantastic cant say enough for how great it is!!! this is a geniune italian haircut Caputo is an older man from Italy who cut the hair of stars back in the day. Such a sweet man and his ability rivals the salons on the westside!!! at the end of the cut he cut off the hair on your next with a straight razor and put on balm on your neck that fees so great .It is an experience i would bring in children for there first haircut. You cant compare this experience i will go back for years and i have recommended so many friends to go see him and they are so thankful
