Standard fast food style mall food. The basmati rice that was handed to me had a bunch of clumps in it meaning it was reheated. It lacked any sort of fluffiness you have with freshly made basmati rice. They have stacks of kabobs ready in the fridge that they pull out for every order. And they can certainly do much better than a few tiny pieces of pita bread. I mean, it’s not bad for a fast food chain, it’s actually one of the better ones in this shopping center. But they can certainly improve on service. The guy who takes orders comes off as really cold and apathetic. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that as I hear complaints from other customers when I pass by. My personal favorite from their menu is the grilled whole boneless trout.

It’s a 4 star for food. Can’t review the service much since it’s a fast food place in a mall. Food was good for what it is, I liked my tilapia, friend had # 22 chelo beef and beef kabob . The cucumber salad wasn’t the freshest and the eggplant dip was so light I am not sure if this is the style here or just had a lot of fillers instead of the eggplant, not my favorite . Rice was good. Cucumber salad was good too . It’s not better or worse than most kabob joint, however nothing stood out.

Food was OK. Not good, not bad. Basmati rice should be fluffy… Here it was overlooked and lacked that wonderful aroma typical of basmati. Staff, in particular the gentleman at the register, was less than friendly. Should have walked away, but seemed like one of the better options while on my shopping trip. Waited a while for the food o be ready and the guy at the register shared his mean, unwelcoming look to every customer since I ordered.(So it wasn’t just me). Sorry you’re so unhappy dude! Put someone with a smile up front!

I got the steak kabob, requested it Medium Rare, it was spot on, the marinade was tasty and the rice portion was filling, I will def stop by again, they had no problem getting extra sauces to satisfy my needs

I JUSTFOUND A WORMINMYRICE! DONOTGOHERE. I LITERALLY just gave this place a five star review(below) an HOURAGO Bc I was excited to eat my leftovers from last night. Shared some of the rice(I was eating it cold) with a toddler who started staring at a grain of the rice. At a little worm on it. I still feel sick. I had just eaten SOMUCH of it. It moved several times. I wish I could have taken a photo but I naturally reacted so quickly scooping up the rice I had given her and spitting out what was in my mouth. I WILLNEVERGOHEREAGAIN!!! ________________________________________ I drive to the mall just to get Masis Kabob. No lie. It’s that good. I’ve had it twice this week! I am a hummus addict and their hummus is the best hummus I’ve ever had(along with Kareem’s Falafel’s in the OC) I don’t eat meat so I order rice, hummus & pita, tabouli, sharizi salad and a few roasted tomatoes. I used to get the falafel which is really good but I traded it in for tomatoes trying to be healthier. I end up paying $ 9-$ 11 bucks and always have leftovers. I so wish they delivered to North Hollywood! Until then I’ll keep trekking to the mall food court lol

This used to be my favorite place for kabobs. Not anymore. They’ve lost that friendly service I have come to expect. It took over 10 minutes to get my order and it was wrong. The food is just ok anyway. Tons of rice, hardly any meat. Asked to have a spoonful of hummus instead of pita because I am allergic to gluten and they said no that they’d charge me $ 1 for hummus and I said that that was ok. But they still didn’t give me the hummus. When I asked for it they inspected my receipt and said I didn’t pay for it so because they didn’t add it to my order they ran my card again for an additional $ 2 in order to get any hummus. Then she squirted oil all over it which I didn’t want so I won’t eat it anyway. It’s not that hard to get someone’s order right. Also got the iced tea and it was really bad. Thank goodness for Coffee Bean a few feet away. There are too many other places at which to dine in the food court. Avoid the headache and don’t eat here.

My mom is so hard to please and every time we are here shopping we end up eating here! I honestly have tried everything in the menu and you can’t go wrong with any of them. I really enjoy their eggplant dip with every plate. Their beef is juicy, chicken and luleh is flavorful! Portions are big for me so you can definitely split an order! The staff is a hit and miss tho. You get the super friendly or the hurry up and order attitude haha I don’t mind as long as my food is bomb! :)

This is probably the best choice in the food court. Whatever you order is made fresh from when you order it so it takes longer than the other heat lamp kiosks. I ordered take away chicken kabob, salmon kabob, and a chicken pita sandwich with fries. I was on my way home within 18 minutes so not too bad. This joint always has the longest line so that should tell you something. The food was super tasty and above the usual food court fare that you get. Prices are reasonable for what you get and the service was excellent. Oh, any the large order of fries were awesome. There was more than enough for all three of us.

I don’t understand the negative reviews about this place. I’ve been here at least 5 or 6 times and always LOVE this food. Especially for food-court food, the quality is exceptional. They literally grill fresh trout in front of you. And charge you $ 10! Who the hell is complaining about this place? They grill fresh cornish game hen RIGHT in front of you and charge 10BUCKS! You’d get charged more at any restaurant or even a food truck! Get the fuck outta here with that«service is lousy» mess. They’re fast food workers at a mall. As long as my food is hot and they don’t spit in it or cuss me out I’m good. They’re serving you freshly prepared $ 20 plates for half that price and the portions are totally fair. You can always get pizza, burgers, buffet style heat lamp Panda Express or a basic sandwich for the same price at another food court stall. Or you can get a REAL meal for $ 10 with no filler, oils or preservatives and keep shopping at Fashion Square Mall. This is my joint.

I usually try to stay away from mall food since it’s not only expensive, but just aight in taste. But if I were to eat any mall food it would be here — I actually like Massis food. I don’t know how but I always grow an extra stomach and inhale the food when I’m here. Their order system: Look at the menu on the screen or their paper menus. Order with the cashier. They’ll hand you a black buzzer that will go off when your order is ready so you can find a seat in the open court. Buzzer goes off, go collect your noms. If you order any of their poultry, meat, kabobs, they grill it for you on the spot. It takes a bit of time, but it’s worth it. The rice is so yummy. I swear, they put crack in it or something, it’s so goooood. I like that the meal still tastes healthy, gets you full, and give you the main stables — grains, protein, and veggies… oh and a free cup of water. Everything is yummy, except the pita which I don’t usually eat since it’s tastes just okay. Being an Asian person and eating Massis, someone usually makes it a point to share with me their surprise — either a customer or someone who works here — one time both. Yes, I can eat Mediterranean food — my friend eats this food at home, and I worked in a hospital in Glendale and was in full-fledged exposure to this cuisine. One time, my friend ordered her usual kids meal at Panda Express and I ordered my usual lamb chop plate #19(damn it’s so good), and these two men in line teased me in line about about eating here. Not only that they ended up ordering food, and sitting at the same table as us when there’s 50 million tables in the food court. Then they proceeded to flirt with us, and tease me some more about finishing my plate. Well what should I do with the food? Food is meant to be eaten, so that’s what I did. GIRLSHAVESTOMACHSTOO. We blocked them from view and just enjoyed our meal. Overall? 3.5 stars. I like the food but just not the attention. Basic lesson is you’ll always get weird people at the food court. If you dare enter the arena, this place is decent if you’re willing to wait ~10−15 since it’s fresh.

Super yummy food! I always get the chicken kabob or shrimp. I love their hummus and pita bread to dip into it. The prices are good and it’s a convenient place to eat when at the mall. Hell, I’ve gone there JUSTFORTHEFOOD. lol! The only down side is the wait time. It can take about 20 – 25 minutes to be ready but it’s worth it.

Service is terrible… They really disrespect their customers. Everyone at that location is bitter and will argue with you if THEY get the order wrong I went to this location in for my order, I ordered a chicken plate. When my order was called I noticed that they made me a beef plate. I kindly told the girl that works their «Hey I think I got Someone’s order by mistake» She began to yell at me saying how I ordered that plate and they weren’t going to change it… etc etc Funny thing is I haven’t eaten red meats in 5 years so I’m pretty sure I know what I ordered… Sweetheart word of advice to you if you see a customer standing in front of you, don’t talk smack about them in Persian… People understand you… Disgusted with their brand!

I rarely eat Middle Eastern food but I do like the kabobs. The food at this place was good but it did take a while to get my food like some of the reviewers have mentioned. I think I waited 15 minutes for my food and I expected my food to be similar to the picture on the menu but it wasnt. The portions were a little smaller and they give you too much rice. I would have preferred more meat than rice.

It’s so unfortunate that a place that has very delicious food can have such bad service. Every single time I come the staff is very rude. Can’t even say«Hi» «what would you like to order?» «How can I help you» NOTHING! They seriously just look at you waiting for you to order. Not even a smile!!! Today in specific it took 30 minutes to get my food. I was just sitting there watching how they were rushing other orders, specially to go or single person orders and the dine in seem to be the last priority. It was just 2 of us. It’s not like we were waiting for an order of 10 people. I, honestly, come here only because the food is good and even then I’m still hesitant to come back due to the very bad service.

Well, to start off, the waitstaff are not very friendly. It took 20 minutes for my friend to get his food as well. I ordered a pita wrap combo and got literally a plate of rice with meat and bread piled on top with a side of vegetables. But the most outrageous thing is that they didn’t serve tatziki sauce when I asked for it. What kind of Mediterranean restaurant is this? I only give two stars because the lamb tasted good.

Over the course of the past 45 years I have consumed many thousands of servings of hummus prepared by Lebanese, Jordanian, Israeli, Palestinian, Syrian, Armenian, Moroccan, and Tunisian restauranteurs. I’ve bought every commercially distributed hummus I could find, have consumed untold quantities of great hummus made by friends, and have produced scores of batches myself(which my middle-eastern wife adores). I can easily differentiate, good, from great, from sublime hummus. Regrettably, the ‘hummus’ offered by Massis Kabob in Sherman Oaks is probably the worst I have ever tasted.(I placed the word in quotes because were I to have tasted a dollop of the substance blindfolded, I doubt that I would have even identified it as hummus.) It’s difficult to know where to begin when it comes to criticizing this unfortunate goop. Perhaps a good place to start is to observe that it’s watery to the point that its consistency falls completely outside the boundaries of identifiable hummus. If they’re going to use canned chick peas, they might consider setting aside the liquid that comes along for the ride. The Tahini, which provides the closest thing to any actual flavor contained in the dish, is also strangely watery. If there was lemon juice — an indispensible element — in the batch, I certainly didn’t detect it. Ditto for salt, or any permutation that might have included cumin, garlic, pepper and/or paprika. I will say this: they did a nice job on the rice.

When I’m looking to satisfy my cravings for Middle Eastern food without the hassle of fancy sit down dining, I come to Massis. Do not let the location(inside the mall) deter you. I’ve eaten here on numerous occasion and the food has always been consistently good. They’re located on second floor of food court next to Great Khan and Subzero Ice Cream. They have excellent varieties of kebabs on the menu(beef, chicken, and lamb) and many other dishes. Makes my mouth water every time I see their kabob selections displayed on their electronic menu board. Not only do they look good, prices are reasonable too. The kabobs are freshly grilled to order accompanied with flagrant basmati rice, tasty cucumber/tomato salad and a grilled tomato. The portions are generous BTW and they give you ample rice. It takes about 10 – 15 minutes to prepare everything and a pager is provided while you wait for your food. My favorites here are the I koobideh beef kabob($ 8) and chelo beef/chicken kabob plates($ 13). The ground beef kebabs are amazingly juicy, as are the chicken and beef steak. They’re well seasoned and very flavorful. The chunks of meat are good size. It really compliments the rice and invites you to eat more. I always end up overeating so so good. Since eating at Massis, I have yet to try other eateries inside the mall. I guess my love for Middle Eastern food here is apparent. Definitely plan on coming back and trying other delicious dishes on their menu.

Recently, I have been in the mood for Mediterranean food. Heck, once in awhile we all do. Although, my hunger ignited recently for some pita bread, rice, and, more importantly, healthy eating, it all started with one place. Why did it take me over 10 years to write it? Well, I wasn’t Unilocaling then. Now, I can take you to one of my origins of my love for Mediterranean food at Massis Kabob in Sherman Oaks. Located inside of Westfield Fashion Square on the second floor food court, you will find Massis Kabob. Many years ago, I was on an errand with a friend to pick up some Mediterranean food. At that time, the Mediterranean was not part of my food vocabulary. After trying their kabobs & entrees, Massis Kabob was one place I would never forget. Well, I kinda forgot about them for a couple years. Now, you can find some good authentic, delicious food here. When I walked up, I noticed that menu board has changed. Its all electronic. I was used to seeing photos and old school menu that you would see at a burger joint. I think with Westfield Fashion Square catering to the high class image, I believe Massis Kabob had to too. As much as I love the electronic menu board, I kept losing what I wanted to order. With my intentions of eating healthy, there is a wide amount to choose from. When I kept looking at the board, it seems bigger, but the menu seems to look smaller. When I ordered, it did seemed like the menu did get smaller. I walked up to the counter and ordered the Salmon Kabob. The employee was about to enter at the cash register and looked up and said, «Let me check if we have any Salmon». And then, I knew right there… I have to look at the menu. The employee confirmed that there was no Salmon available. I asked for the next big fish recommendations: It was either Trout or Tilapia. I chose the Tilapia Entrée Route($ 8.95) to go. I was sad that they didn’t have salmon. On my next visit, I am hoping they have a reserve salmon just for me. As I checked out, they handed me a pager. Very cool! I guess you can shop while you wait for a fresh meal. I am not sure what the range is, but I am hoping its throughout the mall. For a moment, I thought I was waiting for a table… at the food court. The wait was about 10 minutes. You can see a lot of the customers waiting in line and seeing the staff very calm. You can see all the skewers in the kitchen with flames going up and down. You know you are getting your food fresh. I loved seeing the tomatoes on the skewers on the grill. I got my order and took it back home. I live pretty far from here, but my food was still hot when I got it back home. The servings was very big. Two large pieces of Tilapia with a large serving of rice with pieces of pita bread and a grilled tomato. The Tilapia was very moist and savory. The rice was plain and simple. However, I forgot that they gave me a cup of sliced vegetables and it would be great to add with the pita bread. It added some sweetness to my meal. To end my meal, I enjoyed my grilled tomato. It was juicy and very delicious. I used it as a healthy dessert instead of a mix in my meal. I am looking forward to a better visit. This visit was mixed, but highly favorable. I wish I had my fish, but I wish I had either free serving of hummus or pink turnip pickles. That would a big plus to my meal, but I enjoyed every bite of it. I wish I didn’t it eat it too fast. I already paid for it. I wasn’t in a race. When it comes to Mediterranean food, I am all over it. I am looking for my next visit and as I said… Massis Kabob better have my salmon ready! You think I write too much? Well, you can call me a Unilocal-O-Holic!
