Matthew Barry Teaches

In your life, you are lucky if a handful of people truly cause you to change your life for the better. Matt has been one of those for me. I had done no more than a few small roles in short and indie films over the course of a decade. Since meeting Matt in a workshop in Oklahoma, I have now moved to L.A.and in the course of a year had booked a recurring role on A TNT series as well as. 4 other significant co-​stars on TV and a couple of supporting roles in feature films. He not not only teaches you how to act and audition but he also teaches you about the ins and outs of the business. He has been not only a phenomenal teacher but a friend and father figure. He’s been there to celebrate but more importantly at the low points with a hug and a shoulder to cry on. He cares about each and everyone of his students and clients. When you join Matt’s class, you become part of a family.

I am from New York and moved to LA six years ago. I’ve been taking classes/​workshops, etc. and auditioning since I was about seven. I’ve met tons of industry professionals from both coasts and I can honestly say Matthew Barry is one of the best people you will every meet in the entire entertainment industry. He truly loves acting and most importantly, ACTORS. He’s wonderful at picking apart how a scene should go for each individual actor. He’s like a profiler specifically for actors. He will profile this shit out of you — in the BEST way possible.
Matthew is HONEST, he says it how it is. If you suck, he might say it– maybe not in those words but he wont waste your time. If you’re great, he’ll definitely say it, and if you’re lazy, well have you ever heard that expression — «If you don’t take yourself seriously, how do you expect someone else to take you seriously”-?-.
Matthew Barry is amazing. His teaching skills are the best I’ve seen out of every single acting teacher I’ve worked with. And trust– since the age of 7– that’s A LOT. I am not here to brag, I am just here to pass on how much knowledge I learned working with Matthew as well as watching him teach. If you stay true to yourself, he will stay true to you and help you the very best he knows how. Rest-​assured– Matthew is also one of the most respectful and professional individuals I have ever worked with in this industry.

If you are looking for an excellent auditioning/​cold reading class, don’t miss out on Matthew Barry’s class! Matt’s students are booking jobs and are working actors. And there is a reason why. I’m going on my third month in Matthew Barry’s class. I’ve been in other classes before and while they were good, nothing compares to being taught by an actual casting director who knows exactly what they’re looking for in the audition room. My confidence level has grown so much so that I know the next audition I get I’ll be able to go in the room knowing exactly what I’m doing.
