I recently did a marketing on-​line research survey about a new car I recently purchased. The survey was great, easy to navigate and completed. I was told I would receive a check within 2 weeks, I got it earlier and it was great to participate in their study.

I am a little late to write this review but I thought it’s better late than never.
I was contacted with Q-​insights a few months ago to participate in a phone survey because I am a health care professional and they had a study for individuals in my profession.
I was left a message so I decided to research them first before agreeing to it. I went on their website and they looked legit then I went on here and read reviews. To be honest, I did not want to participate in the beginning but I had some down time so I decided to agree to it.
I am glad I did because I learned new products that will be tested to come out and I got paid in the mail within a few weeks.

Great way to make some extra cash and to participate in a group activity. The gentleman hosting our group was very friendly responsive and helped a lot. The people that worked there are friendly. I enjoyed the artwork and music.

Q research has called me a few times to take part in focus groups and interviews. I find the process very interesting, as companies use the research to improve their products and services. Very often they pay excellent incentives. Their staff people are super nice, polite and grateful to all the consumers types. Always enjoy lending them a hand.

This was the first time I did a blogging study ever so I was scared that it would be a scam but once the survey was done I received my check within the time I was told I would. I am not sure why others have had issues with this in the past but I did not experience that. The lady on the phone was professional and friendly.
The blog was fun and I would love to participate again!

I could see how others would find it annoying to go through a long process of answering questions and not qualifying but I also understand that the right people have to be found for certain focus groups.
I have been called multiple times for different types of topics and haven’t qualified until a few weeks ago. I went to their Sherman Oaks location and the staff was very friendly and professional. Their office is clean and they even had snacks and beverages out for us. They have validated parking and pay you before you walk out the door in a check made out to cash! I am very satisfied with this company.

I had recently been contacted by this company to participate in a focus group regarding my Mercedes G Class. After the long screening process, I was told that I had fallen into a closed quota. The rep on the phone did a wonderful job explaining to me what she meant by closed quota and asked if I would like to be placed on hold and if anyone dropped out, they would contact me. I agreed since I had nothing to lose since I had stayed on the phone that long with them anyways.
A couple of days later, I received a call from this company again and the supervisor had informed me that they had a spot open and wanted to see if I was interested. I definitely was so I agreed and scheduled an appointment for me.
When I arrived to the location, everything was organized and the parking directions were clear and accurate. I arrived to the front desk, checked in and was asked to take a seat. I waited about 10 minutes (I had arrived 30 minutes early) and I was taken in to begin the interview. The interview was fun and I really enjoyed it.
The staff was very friendly, had great energy and professional. I received my payment and had it in my account the same day. I will definitely sign up for more groups with this company. I had a great experience from the start to end.

I was called to do an in person survey as the owner of a Mercedes Benz and got payed the promised $ 150. I was ignorant about market research before this. The survey took me less than I expected and I walked out the door with my check. They never tried selling me anything and the staff was professional.

I did an online research study with Q-​Insights last month and it was a great experience. I have never really heard of marker research before so when my friend told me about it I signed up.
The process was very smooth, they stayed in contact with me before the study began and throughout and then they called me when my check was ready to be sent to ensure that they had the correct address. They were very thorough and I received my check within the timeframe mentioned.

I have been on a recent survey here. This was to my surprise a very nice professional place, well kept, parking was great they validate and even had sandwich’s, snacks and drinks for dinner. The phone interview was painless and quick. I came in sat for another painless hour and a half and got a check made out to cash. Definalty if you look at it as a job, the most I ever got paid for an hour and a half. I would recommend this place to everyone who can be flexible with their time and schedule.

so unorganized! i recently participated in a study and it was so frustrating dealing with these amateurs.
DELAYED PAYMENT: i was told i would be paid via check in the mail in 2 weeks. we’re getting into week 3 with nothing.
POOR COMMUNICATION: when i went to pick up product i was planning on signing some papers, picking stuff up and leaving. i was told that would be the case. no one told me i would have to fill out MORE questionnaires and do arts/​crafts nonsense in the office. what should have been a 10 minute thing, turned out to be close to an hour. i should have been told beforehand so i could plan accordingly.
WASTE OF TIME/​ENERGY: after the initial online questionnaire, i spoke to a handful of people (3 of the 2 were completely unnecessary) before i was even selected.
person #1: why are you asking me all the same questions as my online submission. go back and do your homework. the answers are all there.
person #2: talk to person #1 before trying to waste my time with ANOTHER questionnaire filled with the same questions.
person #3: thanks for confirming my eligibility. but calling me on a friday at 3p to pick up product the same day before closing time is ridiculous. i have a job (you know, because i’ve answered so multiple times) and despite what cher’s dad says, no where takes 20 minutes in LA during rush hour on a friday. luckily i was able to pick up product the next morning.
person #4: i told person #3 my address where the interview will be taking place. please talk to your teams before wasting everyone’s time.
person #5: again, i’ve already told multiple people my address (it’s also on the many questionnaires)
the actual interview was fine. the person who spearheaded was great. asked lots of questions, listened, took notes and engaged in conversation to get more info out of me. the other person’s english was terrible at best which was really frustrating. i didn’t understand most of the questions she asked me and i felt like she was asking things i had already answered.

This going to be the easiest 4 star review I’ll ever post.
That giddy feeling I get when Q-​Insights occasionally calls me makes me jump for joy and feel as if I just won the lottery. FREE MONEY! I don’t understand the low rating. The staff is professional and friendly, the office is lovely, and the focus groups are quick and easy. I’ll happily come back anytime. Pick me pick me!

I have participated in focus groups for about 15 years, so I am familiar with the drill: before being invited to a group, you must agree to about 20 minutes of qualifying questions online and/​or over the telephone. I am completely fine with this procedure, as it helps ensure that the most appropriate participants are chosen for the client.
However, I have been told twice in the past year (after passing the screening questionnaires) that I was selected for a focus group at Q-insights…only to be informed several days before the group that I had been placed in «stand by status.» I had changed my schedule around and arranged to travel to the San Fernando Valley on a particular day, just to get cancelled.
Worse yet, the most recent cancellation occurred after I responded to THREE follow-​up emails asking for even more information about my skin care routine. I provided this information with the understanding that I was already selected for a group and would be compensated for my information. I even sent a photo of my skin care products. The amount of information provided after an agreement of group participation really appears to be a bait-​and-​switch scenario.
I wrote a letter to Q-​insights management and failed to receive a response.
I would advise extreme caution when providing information and time to this company, and I definitely wouldn’t make special arrangement to accommodate the focus group schedule.

All the 5 star reviews here are fake, q-​insights is running a scam business. They have NO paid studies, they use that as a bait to get people to fill out surveys!
Terrible. They kept spamming me with emails to see if i qualify for studies, one day i figured why not. So i kept completing these «surveys», ive done about 20 of these «pre-​qualification» surveys, never heard back from anything. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.
They use many different email domains to spam you, i marked 10 of them as spams but they kept on coming.

They did not respond for my new s550 survey.
I called them back, but no response wtf?

I’ve been invited to participate in many Q Insights sessions and I have found the staff to more than pleasant, the surveys/​studies to always be engaging (even on the pedantic ones), and the payments promised always handed to me before I leave the office. Can’t see why folks are griping.

As others have pointed out, this organization uses bait-​and-​switch methods to collect data. I have dozens of e-​mails from various Q-​Insights employees (?) with sender names like «abagdatyan,» «calarcan,» «vkirakosyan,» and «jrojas.» First of all, why can’t they use full names like everyone else?
The subject lines of their e-​mails always promise big payouts for participation. A quick scan shows $ 25, $ 100, $ 250, and $ 300 payments promised.
The thing is, I’ve never, ever made it past the «qualification» questions in their surveys. And their surveys collect a pretty good set of data before they tell you that you are unqualified to participate. I mean, you are giving them enough data in most cases that they are clearly getting everything they need.
In one case, they offered $ 100 to employees of law firms to participate, online, for 1 hour. As I work at a law firm, I thought this was in the bag, but after answering a few pages of questions, nothing… I was not selected to participate. This was one of the first surveys I was sent, and I thought it was really odd. So for the next few that I filled out, I was skeptical. Then it became clear that it didn’t matter what responses were given, I was never selected for any survey. Even for the one I just filled out with completely false information entered to meet the exact criteria of the survey; it just redirected me to some broken down website with a few links to e-​mail for more information.
My suggestion, to anyone who receives these e-​mails, can’t get removed from their mailing list, and who searched for more info on this organization and found this review… ENTER IN FALSE DATA. Let’s make it publicly known that a sizable portion of Q-Insight’s data is completely unreliable. Save these surveys for when you are having a bad day, and then give it to them… Completely inane responses to their handful of questions.
I think it’s important that when companies do research into Q-​Insights and MySoapBox, the first things they find in search results is that Q-​Insights provides bad data.

So, I went to the Better Business Bureau to try to get the spam to stop (and yes, it is now spam as I have requested to be unsubscribed FAR beyond what is required by the CAN-​SPAM Act of 2003). Well, that didn’t work. Got another 5 – 10 emails. So I called and asked to speak to whoever was at the top, please stop bothering me. Emails ceased for… 2 weeks? And now, lo and behold, they start up again.
This is an unprofessional organization with illegal business practices. They do not honor their promises to remove you from the database (I have several of those emails), they are frequently rude if you call to request removal, and are just bad news all around. Don’t sign up, don’t use them as your research firm, and don’t think you’ll ever get off their email list. Easily the worst of these type of organizations — I’ve had FAR better experiences with Fleishmann Field Research, Schlessinger and Associates, Inspired Opinions, and even in-​house focus groups.
It’s amateur hour, it’s obnoxious, and it’s getting reported to the FTC now.

Originally, I was very excited when I received an invitation from Q-​Insights to participate in a 2-​hour focus group for an upcoming T.V. show from 2:00 — 4:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon. The purpose was to receive feedback from an all-​male audience whether or not the show carried potential to become a future success, in exchange for financial compensation.
An hour into the focus group, I was pulled out of the room and asked to wait in the lobby. At 3:15, a representative from Q-​Insights asked me to enter his office so he can speak to me about something. He suddenly accused me of attending another focus group on Thursday, April 3, in Universal City at 1:00 p. m under the name of «Arash Eghbali». I continued to reassure the unprofessional and sloppy man (his appearance was not very polished) that it couldn’t have been me, because I work full-​time in West L.A., Monday — Friday. Also, the name «Arash» is a common Persian name, and it is very possible that there was another man by the name of Arash that day.
However, he made it seem as though I was lying, and claimed that his client confirmed it was me because they see all their participants through one-​way mirrors and recognized my «profile». I asked him to justify his accusation, and he stated that there were cameras recording all the participants. When I asked him to provide this recording evidence, he said he was unable to, stating I would have to call back on a business day. I asked to speak to his supervisor, and he told me he was the manager. But when he gave me his business card, the title of his position stated «Research Associate.» At that point, things became extremely suspicious and unethical to me, and I left the office. I realized it was useless to try to dispute this allegation with an individual who was clearly unreceptive, unprofessional and simply disrespectful.
After seeking legal consultation, it became clear that I was victimized by false accusations and possible racial profiling. After e-​mailing the administration of Q-​Insights, I finally received my compensation check. However, I highly advise you to think twice before participating in any of their «focus groups,» as I would hate for you to experience the same headache I did.
Overall, Q-​Insights made a huge mistake, creating a shameful and unfortunate reputation for themselves in the market research industry.
