Ron Mulvey Electric

Decided to use Ron based on Unilocal reviews. He’s knowledge, timing, ethical and professional. He replaced an outlet and the main breaker switch, and due to factory default on the GFCI, he came out again to warranty the work. He’s not cheap but when it comes to electrical work and safety, it pays to have peace of mind. Thanks Ron.

Excellent service! Ron knows his stuff very well and explains things in a way that I can understand the basic workings of what he is fixing and why. Not only is his expertise top notch but so is his customer service! You cannot go wrong with Ron.

Called Ron to get an estimate to have 3 outlets replaced in my apt (The apt management company uses morons for maintenance). Ron explained to me that he would not be comfortable taking on the job since their was already a maintenance company but he did explain what needed to be done under the new code passed a couple of years ago. Even though he was not making any money by helping me, he did advise about what needs to be done for the job to be done correctly. He also told me what the cost of the materials should run about how long it normally takes to do the job barring any problems. It is hard to find a tradesman like this nowadays. Many will not give free advice because there is nothing in it for them. If anyone ever asks me for a good electrician I will recommend they call Ron. To be fair I can not rate his work but in my experience when you get this kind of service, the work is usually of the same caliber. Now I need to call the Apt management company and see if they will send a licensed electrician if I offer to pay (and not one that will gouge me or they mark up the bill).

Here is the thing, Ron is incredible.
I called him up for an estimate, left a voicemail and was called back extremely quickly.
Not only was he cordial and friendly but he jumped on explaining the situation I had at hand and pointed out some things that I would not have even thought of on a level that really made since to me.
Having worked at an electrical company in the past I can tell you his friendly demeanor and warm willingness to take the time and talk things out is extremely rare.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined having a lengthy conversation about secondary meter installation that would be so engaging, educational, and frankly really fun.
Even though the work we needed to have done was outside of his scope he was quick to provide a reference to another trusted colleague. He is a man who clearly cares about providing quality service backed with genuine trust.
I will be recommending Ron whenever I get the chance!

Ron is EXCELLENT. Before I called an electrician for a client of mine, I went to Unilocal.I noticed his rave reviews and well… I get it. He is professional, friendly, generous with providing information and super knowledgeable with the trade. You will feel totally comfortable having him in your home/​space and totally confident in the work he will do. My client had around 10 wall switch dimmers installed, a fan control and an on/​off remote added to the fireplace. Highly recommended and… will. use. him. again.

Simply put Ron is a great guy that knows his stuff. He’s very calm and happy to explain everything to you. His rate is very fair as well. Would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Ron for your help, service, expertise and just being a good honest guy!

I called Ron not too long ago and he picked up right away. Immediately noticed that he is one of the nicest people you will talk to you and really seems to want to help even if there’s no monetary benefit. I spoke to about in-​ceiling lighting which he says he does not do anymore, but referred me to a guy who does do the work. We went on to have a 30 minute conversation about different lighting and what would be my best option as far as what I would like to have in the room. He let me know what your research to have a better idea when I get the lighting done. He basically covered every single question that I had and made sure that I understood every step of the way. He even said he would come do a consultation before I get all the work done. I work in customer service and I can safely say that he offered some of the best customer service that I have encountered in the LA area recently. When I get all the necessary wiring run in the room I am definitely going to have him come back to finish up the job. If anybody is looking for an electrician I highly recommend at least giving him a call and see what he has to say. You will not regret it! :) Ron, you rock!

I’ve been meaning to write a review for Ron for months. (I’m sorry Ron!) — this guy is amazing. Kind, intelligent, honest and extremely knowledgable. I had him originally install a Tesla charging outlet in the garage. He did the job quick, efficiently, and at a much better price than was quoted by at least 3 other electricians (who also wanted to do a bunch of excess work, that Ron proved was unnecessary). I then had him come back to do many other little «odd job» electric projects around the house. He did an amazing job on all of them. Go to this guy before any others — he will do the best job, give you the best deal, and actually explain in detail what needs to be done and what he did. And he is extremely reliable. Thanks again for everything Ron.

I called Ron to install 2 light fixtures, based on the awesome Unilocal reviews. I have to say — the reviews are true. He’s a great guy and did a super job, for a reasonable price. One of the fixtures was missing important parts, but Ron made it work, and it looks terrific. I’ll be sure to call him for future electrical jobs.

When selling my condo, I had to have a hard-​wired carbon monoxide detector installed before I could hand over the keys. I did not want to electrocute myself, so I called Ron. He came the SAME DAY and had that thing installed in less than 10 minutes. He was fast, courteous, and explained what he was doing. He has very reasonable rates, too. I will definitely call him again.

Contacted Ron from Unilocal and everything that is written about him is true. I needed someone to come by and address an electrical issue that came up during a home inspection and he was great! Prompt, Professional and completed the task at a reasonable price while always taking the time to explain everything clearly and concisely. I am a def fan and plan to call him again when the need arises.

I called Ron on a Monday (when he’s «closed») and he picked up the phone immediately. I proceeded to tell him my situation (FD said I need more outlets at my place of business) and even though it was something he didn’t do (he referred me to another electrician with more recent commercial experience) he still talked to me for 8 minutes. He gave me lots of helpful information about my situation and what I should do next.
Even though he didn’t solve my electrical problem in this case, he definitely helped me out big time and I can’t thank him enough for being so kind and considerate about my situation on the phone (especially on his day off).

I would highly recommend Ron. He helped me over the phone but then I had an issue when the electricity came on. I had smoke come out under the sink (hot water dispenser blew). Ron came right over! He checked the wiring for me, redid a outlet and will be coming back to fix a light fixture and replace a breaker. He is wonderful!

Ron was great! I needed to fix a handful of electrical issues that came up during our inspection. Ron was very communicative, informative and trustworthy. His price was more than reasonable and he did a wonderful job!

We should all start a fan page for Ron Mulvey. I am visiting my parents from out of town and they asked if I could help them find an electrician. After reading his reviews on Unilocal,we called Ron. He was already in the area (had actually worked on a house on their street earlier!) and within a half hour of calling him, he was onsite. I knew my mom was won over when he offered to put on clean booties over his shoes before walking through the house.
A (very old) bathroom outlet needed to be replaced and some outdoor fixtures required attention. He explained everything in understandable terms and was engaging and friendly. He went out for some of the supplies that he did not have on hand and when at the store, texted us pictures of different outdoor light fixtures to choose from.
He returned shortly and everything was installed and completed before we knew it. His prices are very reasonable and his personable demeanor adds to the value of the great service he gives. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

If I could give Ron a 10 star review I would definitely do so. The guy did everything to fix my problem, he came after hours, and troubleshoot the problem. He explained everything to me, and also his prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend him, and call him again if I have any future problems/​projects.

Ron is such a pleasure to work with! He’s courteous, extremely knowledgeable and cares.
First of all, he was the only electrician to actually return my initial phone call and then actually show up to check out the electrical system. Our house uses an old electrical system that most houses stopped using after the 70’s…the dreaded relay switch system. Prior to meeting Ron, I had no idea what that meant… but he took the time to explain it all to me and show me how this particular system works. Knowledge is power and he helped to empower me! Ron knows EVERYTHING about this system. (It’s one of the reasons I think electricians would fall off the grid after telling them we have a low-​voltage system… not many electricians have experience with this.)
Since then, he has been and continues to be our go-​to electrician and someone we can trust with any electrical needs. Highly recommend him!

This is the first time I’ve ever been inclined to write a Unilocal review, but I am doing so because Ron’s service and talent is of the special sort that warrants my taking the extra time and care, just like Ron takes special time and care for his customers.
Ron has been out twice over the past month or so to install a bunch of fixtures and switches in my new home. Some re-​wiring was required for what I wanted, and Ron did it all with aplomb. Not only is he extremely friendly and knowledgeable, but he also always goes the extra mile to educate and advise. In addition, he is extremely communicative pre– and post-​visit, and takes the time to answer questions via email, in detail, without asking for a penny. It is evident that Ron cares deeply about his customers, and from the moment I met him I was completely comfortable having him in my home. I truly believe that he is as honest as they come, and that he would never try to nickel and dime me on anything, which is extremely refreshing.
Add all those wonderful attributes to his reasonable fee structure, and I have no doubt that you will feel as I do that Ron Mulvey is the only electrician you will ever need.
