Wow, I can’t believe how incredibly rude the manager was. My girlfriend bought me a watch for Christmas. She spent $ 200 dollars on it and paid cash, unfortunately when I unwrapped my gift I noticed it wasn’t working. Although everything there is final sale the booth of watches has a 90 day guarantee by the owner and NOWHEREONTHEREDOESITSAYONLYFORSTORECREDIT. I called to even verify if the return would be okay and the rudest manager ever Rick answered and said«oh booth 222 yes, he does offer a 90 day warranty» and assured me it was okay. So I headed down with my girlfriend and asked for Rick, he came out and I told him the watch didn’t work and I wanted a return. He AGREEDATFIRST and asked how much we paid, as soon as I told him $ 200 his attitude changed and then he said«oh well sorry right now I don’t have that in the register» mind you, it was already 2pm and with their prices I’m sure they had way more than that. And instead of offering to come back later when there was more money he went back on his word and said I can pick something else for store credit or he could get the watch fixed, I told him there was nothing I liked and just wanted the money back he said no and refused to return the money after he already agreed to it. This went on for about 20 minutes and rather than waste my day with him I gave him the watch to fix it. He said it’ll be about a week and he’d call me. 10 days later I heard nothing so I decided to stop by and ask. Immediately as I walk in he was rude and it seemed my presence their bothered him, he said«the watch guy came and picked it up 2 days ago» and I made the unfortunate mistake of simply asking what happens if the watch is beyond repair? And this is when shit hit the fan, he deliberately insulted me in front of my girlfriend, accusing me of trying to «scam him» and that I’m trying to «play games with him» I couldn’t believe how rude he was and in utter shock I simply replied«I see» and proceeded to walk out and while we were walking out he started bad mouthing us to another employee. I can’t believe this place and why they couldn’t just satisfy the customer and just refund the money. They obviously don’t care about their customers. TAKEYOURBUSINESSSOMEWHEREELSE!!! It’s clearly not appreciated at this establishment.

Great shop. All prices are reasonable as opposed to other antique shops in the city of LA. They always have everything I’m looking for. Would go there first if you need something antique.

Very spacious with many consignment shops to look through. The prices are very high, and I think most items are overpriced.

I was really shocked by the prices. I go antiquing for fun quite a bit, and this is the most expensive antique mall I’ve ever been in. There are some beautiful things great vintage clothing, booths were clean and trinkets were presented very nicely, but no fun at all as little faces were selling for $ 60-$ 80. Vintage 70s ashtrays for 80 bucks. It was unreasonable and I’m disappointed as there are so few antique malls in our area.

I feel like I’m here so often that the men and women who work here know my entire wardrobe by now, and I don’t know whether to feel embarrassed or what. My parents used to bring me here when I was younger over 10+ years ago. We used to come almost every weekend. I rediscovered the Sherman Oaks Antique Mall a few months back, and I’ve been hooked every since. This is by far the best antique mall that I have personally been too. There is endless amounts of things for anyone’s taste, idea, or thought. Very organized and practically endless, which I die for. The staff isn’t up your ass 24⁄7 and regularly checks on everyone to see if they need anything to held. Very kind, and willing to help with anything they possibly can. I try to come here once a week as best as I can. The location is great as there’s not that much foot traffic, along with being one street off of Ralph’s and ten feet away from a very unique furniture store. Tip: If you aren’t lazy enough to walk… park farther up the street(Murietta Street) so you don’t have to pay for the metered parking. Just be prepared to use your handy parallel parking skills(a must for Sherman Oaks/Encino residents/visitors). See you there!

The best selection I have EVER come across in LA. The prices are fair and the customer service is 1st rate. Rick helped me, he was no non-sense, completely genuine and above board!

Just great. What a treasure! Beyond irritated at myself for living in Sherman Oaks as many years as I have and never once having come here. The things I must have missed! I just made an impromptu stop today and had to keep running to my car over & over to feed the meter. Next time I will plan ahead, because I need at least an hour and a half to browse through the beautiful ephemera more thoroughly and make some serious purchases. Staff seemed great, too. Only deducting a star for an overlarge amount of product that was not only not antique, it wasn’t even vintage… Still, hurray!!!

This place is awesome… like a permanent flea market. I don’t always find something to buy but it’s fun to walk around for a bit. It seems to go on forever. I guess the down side would be that there’s no haggling(I don’t think).

I came here trying to find the perfect housewarming gift for a friend. He had recently moved into a new house and he is a lover of all things Western and 1930s-1950s themed. I wanted to find a small little trinket, or just something, that would be a nice little gift, and make him realize what an awesome girl I am. I had no idea where to look, but after a Unilocal search I found out about Sherman Oaks Antique mall and decided to give it a shot. I parked down the block in the neighborhood, because I like discovering new things, and walking also helps me with that. Parking was a breeze(metered). Upon entering SOAM I was quickly greeted by two of the workers there in the first booth. They were friendly, and were also roving around the large store area and stopped me a few times to make sure I was okay/see if I needed help. SOAM has some super amazing things in it, unfortunately I did not find anything that suited my friend(so a nice bottle of red wine had to suffice), but I did have fun browsing the store and I quickly lost track of time(I was there about 2 hours). SOAM is basically comprised of numerous booths; some have themes(western, toys, photos, jewelry, etc) and some are a smörgåsbord of different knick-knacks. My favorite booths had prints(and reprints) of old vintage pinups, cuts from playboy, old gun adverts, etc. They also had booths that featured these little figurines that I always remembered my grandmother having in her house; I will most likely return to buy her one when she visits in late January. Overall while I wasn’t blown away I would return here for specific gifts for certain people, or to bring people who enjoy vintage things, so that they may browse.

Love this place! It’s a treasure trove of anything you can imagine. Even if you don’t plan on buying anything, it’s fun to just walk around and go back in time. Some of the stuff is overpriced, but you can always negotiate.

This is a unique place where you can browse hundreds of ‘antique’ items from jewelry and clothes to household items and more. I can easily spend a few hours in here and each time Ive come to the shop, Ive managed to find something fun and interesting. NOTE: they do not bargain but in general prices are competitive.

If I could, I would leave no stars. It’s sad to know that racism still exists in 2014. The first time I came here, with my mom I fell in love. They have a large variety of clothes, jewelry, and household items. I saw a dress that I fell in love with but I was in a rush so I didn’t bother trying it on. A few months later I came with my boyfriend to see if the dress was still there. My boyfriend, who was born here, in Hollywood but has a Mexican background, was followed around the store as soon as we stepped in. It was very uncomfortable and appalling. I went with the intention of buying the white dress I saw. However, after noticing the staff following us around, we left. It sucks because I really liked this place and wanted to purchase all sorts of stuff they had. But the way they treated us was very rude. Following someone around your store because of their skin tone is ignorant. Don’t forget you’re in Los Angeles not Nebraska. Take your racist stereotypes somewhere else.

This is the best Antique Mall in the area. Clean and friendly filled with lots of great stuff! It is almost impossible to not find something you must have. I really love this place.

Picked up a Garcia/Saunders, JG’s first solo record, Dylan’s Desire, Head in the Door, Dave Brubeck Time, Skull and Roses, looked closely at St. Pepper’s and a Marley from ’74 but decided I didn’t ‘need’ those. Husband picked up a Korean knock off Les Paul for $ 200. Vinyl selection was a surprise but there was plenty of crystal, china, stemware and all around tchotchkes. Lots of characters at work here… but that only adds to the charm. There is a small lot in the back for parking but nothing open and thus we fed the meter with quarters and loose change.

If you love Rose Bowl Flea Market, you have to come here! This is the answer to all the unpleasantness of an outdoor flea market: parking — This store is along a stretch of Ventura with plenty of parking. We found free street parking. heat — air-conditioned sun — indoor organization — Given that the vendors are absent, the pieces are arranged to be shown off. quality — Some great stuff. See Jennifer S’s review. ;) The next time someone wants to go browse at a flea market, I am taking them here!

I LOVETHISPLACESOOOOOOMUCH!!! Its a total gem! Ok, I know what you’re think’n. «But Jen, you’re waaay to young to like antiques!!» Perhaps. LOL, but once you come in here, you won’t want to leave. That is a promise. They have to coolest vintage jewelry(some real, some fashion), stuff from CHANEL, Salvatore Ferragamo(my fav), Versace, whatever. Ive gotten some amazing vintage fur coats, nightrails, jewelry, books, & trinkets of all kinds at SOAM. Not to mention, the Local Peasant is next door, so after you shop, you can grub! HOLLA!

Seriously… so…GOOD! I love this store!!! Terrific customer service, really like everyone who works there tons. Store is huge with a massive variety to choose from. My faves — mid-century modern barware, california pottery, and 50’s 60’s décor. If you even like antiques just the tiniest bit you should make this store a must visit! Just wanted to add that I found the prices to be at market or a bit under(even better!) market.

Records: One review mentioned them and sure enough, there they were. About eight vendors sell them, three with a substantial amount. Almost entirely LP’s, didn’t see many 78’s, a few little stacks of 45’s. Unilocaler Michelle G said of the mall in general, «The prices can very from ‘pretty good deal’ to ‘I can probably do better,’» and this holds true for the records too; my reactions ranged from«OK» to «Hah!,» not too many«wow’s.» Pretty much all were in plastic sleeves but most were kinda tattered with seam splits from having been flipped thru by too many looky-loo’s(like me). A couple I could have bitten on — Dead Blues for Allah for $ 7.50 and a From Elvis in Memphis for $ 5, both pretty much just VG condition. Mostly 60’s — 70’s classic rock, plenty of Beatles and Elvis, no Floyd or Zep. Not an incredible stop for vinyl shoppers — prices a bit high and quality a bit low — but if you’re jonesing for some grooves in between Second Spin and Freakbeat, check it out.
