I cannot be more effusive with regards to the classes both Gary and Martha teach. Their expertise and knowledge of the industry is invaluable and their warmth and humour, while imparting their wisdom, was unexpected and very welcome. You won’t find better voice over teachers — whether you’re a total beginner dipping your toe or have some experience but would like to hone your talents — this is where you need to be.

I can’t say enough good things about the Talk Shop team! The very first VO audition I ever had was with Gary. He was kind, patient, and helpful then– he still is now. Martha has a wealth of business insight and is genuinely concerned that each of her students learn and grow and that each of her clients get the reads they need. You can’t go wrong if you listen to her advice and follow her lead. They are professionals through and through, and they’re also people I greatly admire. I have trained with them, hired them, and been hired by them. They have truly helped me find my voice as an artist, and I literally send anyone who wants to learn about VO to them.

I started working with Talk Shop about a year ago at the suggestion of a friend in VO. What a great decision! Martha and Gary are not only great teachers, building your confidence and pinpointing the detailed adjustments needed in your reads, but they are also incredibly supportive. I started taking VO classes with them and just had them record my commercial demo — and it’s a demo I think will work for me for a LONG time. They helped me build on my strengths as well as my weaknesses, and we always have an open and honest discussion about what needs work and what’s good to go. It’s no wonder they’re so good — they’ve worked together in the VO business for years, producing, casting, booth directing — you name it. They can really do it all. And they know everyone in the industry, too — so they can also provide great referrals as you move forward in your career. Absolutely love this place! Gary is so great. As I am totally new to the world of voiceover, Gary has been helpful and giving with directives. He sends your VoiceOver straight to your agent after recording so there is no question on how to submit or getting it in the correct file type. Love TalkShop!

This place is AWESOME!!! From the great people, to the fabulous classes, to the personal hands on demo production, this place is the BEST! If you take classes here albeit privates or group, you will be gettting a major leg up on the competiton. The place also has a fun cool vibe to record your projects. If I had my way I would give them ten stars!!!

If I could give less than one star I would. I purchased a gift for a friend’s son’s birthday — a phone session voice-​over lesson. They decided they were not going to ever use it so I contacted the owner about a refund. After many emails and calls they told me they were going to send me a refund they never did, despite many follow-​up emails. I live in Kansas now, but used to live in Sherman Oaks. They probably thought I didnt know anyone in LA, probably thought I would not spread the word of their poor service with a review online or with word-​of-​mouth with friends back in LA!

Martha and Gary ROCK! Im fairly new to the Voice Over world, and I unfortunately don’t have a studio set up in my home. So, I LOVE coming to Talk Shop to lay down spots. Being a fairly green virgin, Martha and Gary have always been very gentle and smooth in showing me the Mic.
